    The sound is goods and our home is still dumb so maybe we will start with this guy. Can you easily change the name of these? Great review.

      Thanks. If you’re just starting out this is a perfect device. It has everything you need to start down the road of making your house smart. And yes, you can change the name.

    It is annoying that if you turn off the mic, a red light remains on. Is there a way to turn the mic AND red light off?

      Totally agree but I don’t think you can have both off.

    Just change the name of the echo plus to amazon or computer then you won't have the problem with your cube :-).

      That's a really good point! I'll have to do that. Thanks.

    i found in the uk ikea colour bulbs and hue bulbs work ish but in order to get my colour ikea bulb you need the ikea hub to get the skill same with the hue skill to can turn them up/down and on/off but it does not reconize my colour ikea bulb as a colour bulb so i can't change the colour

    If I get a free Phillips hue smart bulb with this item will I need the Phillips hue hub for the lights?

    • @SteveDOES
      @SteveDOES  5 років тому

      You do not. The bulb will connect directly to the Echo Hub. That was one of my favorite things about this device. No Hue hub needed anymore.

    First of all, thanks! :)
    Secondly, you're a handsome guy ;D totally like your video style and your voice.
    Now for me, especially the last part was important. I am considering buying an echo and don't know which one. I guess now it will be the echo plus.

    Are you going to give up your current hub that also does Z-Wave devices and replace it with this?

      I'll still be using both for testing purposes.

    You do know that the Amazon Echo is not failsafe right!!! Try tuning on your light from Alexa,. The electric supply is on to your light but you asked Alexa to turn it off right! So its off, now switch off your main electric supply to simulate a power outage. Now switch the power back on!! What do you see, your tight is on. If this were your heating system it would be on until you switched it off manually right!!!! NOT FAILSAFE It could burn you house down. So beware of Alexa.
