Though she could be a shrew at times, Laura was the most interesting, complex and believable character on the show. The show went down the tubes after she left.
Wonderful video! I love Laura - she is my favorite character on Knots, and it was so sad when she was written off. This is a beautiful tribute to her :-)
My favorite show ever. They wrote her off because they had no storyline for her, but it was never the same after she left. She was the key player, the one who made the show what it was.
Her death on KL was very upsetting. I still enjoyed the show, but when you get rid of great characters, you are setting your show up for a downfall. Love ya Constance! I really liked the video!
killing laura off the show was biggest mistake they ever made. and then a year later abby left and the show was done as far as i was concerned. once laura was gone the show lost the solid foundation that made it stand out from the rest of the night time soaps. laura had class and she provided a realism that kept KL from being cartoonish like dynasty and dallas. however, the writers did a great job with her departure as it gave KL one the most riveting story lines in it's 14 year run. it was emotional and tear jerking and gave an opportunity for the entire cast to come together in a way they had not in years. constance was such a great actress. often in acting they tell actors not over-act. to be simple and subtle. she was the queen of this.
Well they killed off Laura at the start of season 9 1987-88 to save money.or so they say..And Julie Harris as well.Then Donna leaves 2 years later Then the awful writers came to the show at the start of season 13 and by then the show was really done..But at least the show was the only prime time drama to go out a high note..XD
@starstorm69 The goodbye video to Greg was devastating, especially Greg's reaction. She was so good with everyone - and her relationships were so unexplored. With CJ, Richard, Greg, Gary, Val. I always admired her so much for how she HAD to stand up for herself, because no one else gave a damn most of the time. She was always on her own, even to the end. She was so fascinating.
Laura was the backbone of Knots Landing. She was a fiercely intelligent, complex woman, and one of the most realistic characters ever on TV. She was also wickedly funny. Sadly I think she was a little too complicated for the show, which increasingly wrote for caricatures. Knots could still be very entertaining without her, but it no longer had any soul. I've always thought it was hilarious that their big "comeback" in 92 was a story about Laura...who had been dead for 5 years!

Roman Valentino it was more upsetting to kill off Laura and peter Hollister than Linda fair gate!
