As far as I understand it, Teysa wouldn't double a sacrifice trigger. Her interactions with triggers are based on creatures hitting the graveyard from the battlefield, so the fact that you sacrificed the creature that caused it to die doesn't matter. In fact, a card that forces creatures into exile before hitting the graveyard stops Teysa's interaction. You have Teysa, a cruel celebrant, a sac outlet, and Mirkwood bats on the field. You sacrifice a creature to the sac outlet, Mirkwood bats triggers on the sac, then cruel celebrant triggers on the death which gets a second trigger from Teysa's triggered ability.
Sacrificing a token actually does technically make it hit the graveyard, but youre correct that the Bats doesnt trigger her ability. Its better to look at it in this way: "Sacrificing a creature/token/etc." is part of a cost. The creature dying did not trigger Mirkwood Bat's ability, you sacrificing it triggered its ability. So Bats would have to be worded "Whenever a token under your control is created or dies, each opponent loses 1 life" for Teysa to see it (which would not be possible to design cleanly, because many tokens are non-creatures)
You're right. According to a ruling, she doesn't double triggers from an event, like when things are sacrificed. So Mirkwood Bats and Smothering Abomination would not double trigger
Excactly. Had a discussion with my playgroup about this just last week. I'm considering to drop Mirkwood Bats for this reason, but i make so many tokens that i think it might still be worth it. Thoughts?
@@seomaticlp5710 I think can definitely slot into the 99. My deck has a lot of sac interactions to draw cards, get land, secondary costs, etc., so I could find a spot for it. However, I'm not completely enthusiastic about how much stuff and what universes wizards are pulling into the game. LoTR being one of them, so for me I'll probably avoid buying it.
On the Shrieking Drake note: Try Ms. Bumbleflower, Smothing Tithe and Shrieking Drake. Just hold it until your opponents tap out or you can tap them out and keep the combo going. Congrats, you've just decked your opponents.
With Vadrick, really you only need to get a couple counters/power boosts. Once you get that -4 or -5 spell cost you start netting mana with certain spells. That’s when Vadrick can go off
tangleroot shrieking drake and mycosynth lattice is an infinite bounceback combo you play the drake and bounce it back using its own effect, tangleroot gives one green, mycosynth lets you play the drake for 1 green, so if you can get any kind of value from the bounce back or the summon it can be the wincon, for example an ETB for 1 damage when a creature enters the battlefield.
My to pick for this sort of thing is Emry. I put aside $20 for 2 cards, those being Brainfreeze and Grinding Station and still ended with a really powerful deck for under $100.
I have a few of these commanders. Alela is fun. I went Artifacts and rogues for the prowl cost of Notorious Throng. Most of the fairies are also rogues, besides one or two.
My favorite budget commander is henzie from the new Capenna precons, just fill your deck with big stompy creatures and ways to bring them back from your graveyard
Oh yes, esper anthem fairies seems like a good intro deck for friends to use. I'm gonna build that one next after I'm done with the Extus mage craft/heroic deck I'm trying to put together. 😁
Built Illuna some days ago, but included some more big permanents in there. Currently sitting at a 75% win rate (ok, only had 4 games with her, but it’s 75%)
If I’m understanding correctly, you need to have a creature on the battlefield in order for Illuna to mutate, getting that out consistently would be very difficult with so few permanents on the battlefield, I mean the lands that can create creatures or become creatures could do this but there aren’t that many of them, I feel like it would be very difficult to pull of the omniscience strat like that
Though not budget I love my ratadrabik Deck. Teysa is budget and should be in the Deck. Blade of selves is a little over $1 and is a must include. Put it on ratadrabik to give him myriad. Attack and the myriad tokens sac themselves without an outlet creating nonlegendary tokens then things go nuts.:p
I used it this way on Reyhan, Last of the Abzan. The 2 tokens sac'ed themselves and all 3 of the Reyhans see and replace those 6 counters for 18x counters on the original 3/3. It was a commander damage kill as early as turn 3.
Vadrik is broken, build him draw card/treasure token generators (Big score, Pirates Prize, Unexpected Windfall) with extra turn spells. In arena, i got a deck with him and I drew 50 cards in 1 turn, he's stooooopid.
I love Arcades; explaining to your opponent why the 0/8 wall is hitting him for 8 is hilarious

@@seomaticlp5710i could see bats still being worth it, card does a lot of work
So glad you mentioned Vadrik in this video, I've been preaching him being powerful for months!

Hinata, Dawn-Crowned goes on this list. It's so powerful and the deck can be good and budget friendly!

I'll tell you Mitch. I ♥️ my Saheeli Artifacts deck it pops off nicely lol. Lots of Artifact Creatures omg 😮

I love my Marneus deck with the Karlov clue token theme added in

Love the videos, keep up the great content! You got me going to my local store a lot lately to look for some of these cards. 😅
Depending on how well mtg foundations does, omniscience might get cheaper since it's getting reprinted there
I am making an Alela deck for sure.
Thanks for the ideas. Vadrik looks cool, may have to try him out

Yo shared animosity is actually super good in my rin and seri deck! Also slivers! Never even seen it before thanks for the new card.

there are lots of instants and sorceries that make creature tokens
@@fearghaill9738 very true! Did not think of that!
Third
Even if you're running a budget deck with an OP commander like Chulane you'll still be targeted due to people knowing what it can do.
Awesome stuff! ❤

After you build a deck. What are your strategies to test it ? Also do you have tips for solo people to test their own decks. Thank you in advance
Alela is one I'm looking forward to building around.
I discovered astral archmage in arena. And it was the most busted brawl deck while it lasted.
Arumi the grave tide was probably my strongest budget deck
Tatyova, get Burgeoning and place lands any time someone else does! get some lands that give no maximum hand size and let that sucker rip!
Yo I watch your videos like everyday, but just today realized I wasn't subbed. Im sorry, you're one of my go to mtg dudes. subbed for life
I did not realise Rowan said spells......thought it said the next spell
I have to pause and read each card because i can't process when you read so fast/jumbled.
Sane here.
I’ve never won with my Alela deck. I’m not sure why as the fairy creation is strong with everything I do in the deck
Great video. Smothering Abom in Teysa draws 2 per sac? Can someone confirm or deny plz
Man my girl Teysa
My first commander and still my favorite.
First up there's "MY GOODNESS"
Vadrik is actually a good starter Cedh commander on a budget
Bats and Teysa don't work together. Bats'ability isn't triggered by death but by sacrifice ;)
Vadrik is broken, build him draw card/treasure token generators (Big score, Pirates Prize, Unexpected Windfall) with extra turn spells. In arena, i got a deck with him and I drew 50 cards in 1 turn, he's stooooopid.
Jan Jansen is a crazy value engine if you can get it together, super janky
Was thinking about doing a Sibling Scion deck with Will and Rowan
Maybe build with Dimir, Boros, Orzhov, and Izzet spells to gain multi benefits while losing and gaining life
teysa doesnt double sacrifice effect....
