People seem to have forgotten that “hardcore” is an adjective, the name of the genre is actually “hardcore PUNK”. That means 3 or 4 chords, shouted vocals with poor technique, consistently fast tempos, and political lyrics. Complex palm muted rhythms, breakdowns, and growling about introspective topics and/or horror & gore is the exact opposite of […]core.
Also, I like all of it. This song is good, GBH is good, Job for a Cowboy is good, Anti-Flag is good. I just have a problem with the name.

Regarding the genre of deathcore: it is an established thing. This band is clearly playing it. "Hardcore" of the mid to late 90's influenced the early metalcore scene which influenced this. Sure, it's a far cry from minor threat, but this is the sound that has been established for better or worse with that label. What this is certainly not is blackened thrash with death metal elements. That would be something like Dragged into Sunlight or Aura Noir.
@@matthewwalsh974 I’m not an anarchist (anymore), but I don’t even like Misfits. The weird crooner vocals + childish “horror” lyrics ruin it for me. It’s not punk, it’s not hardcore, it’s just teenage gar(b)arge rock.
As for metalcore & deathcore, metalcore is just downtuned repetitive thrash. A few bands stand out by breaking away from the formula, but the vast majority sound the exact same. Deathcore is just (sometimes progressive/technical) death metal with extreme breakdowns. I can’t hear any hardcore punk influence whatsoever. Again, it’s not inherently bad, it’s just not what it says on the package. It’s like making a chicken korma, and calling it a barbacoa taco. Both are delicious and spicy, but totally unrelated.
I know I’m screaming into the void and the names are established, but having grown up on very underground HxCx, I have a hard time accepting it.

what the actual hell are you talking about dude? Nuclear Blast didn't have ANY part in making this band or what their aesthetic is. it was down to Alex (the vocalist) & everyone involved.
I, like most people, would be insulted if i had this great idea, made plans to make it happen, executed it perfectly & now be signed to one of the biggest record labels that stands by Metal of all kinds just for some dude to trample on my/our hard work like we're some boy band put together by a corporation. besides you're waaaaaaay behind timescale wise mate, Nuclear Blast Records only put this video up on February 10th 2023. this video has been on UA-cam since February 25th 2022 want proof? go to their social media accounts & you'll see this has been promoted on all their social media accounts as well as fans for a straight year. don’t take credit away from a band that literally formed itself & even went as far as explaining it’s formation by the frontman himself on an Australian podcast back in 2022 a few weeks after it’s initial release.
