Gotta admit, the old man apologizing for his actions was a nice change. Never heard someone say they would call police back and cancel the call. Someone gave him a crash coarse in public relations.
Admitting to mistakes shows the good in that person. i have had to admit to my mistakes. Mistakes are the best learning experiences. You never forget them.
Man, didn't expect this audit to go this way when I started watching. Old guy started off being traditionally foolish, but then came back, apologized without being prompted to do so, listened, and learned. This goes to show that, even if you start off looking bad, you have the power to turn things around and make yourself look good.
It is refreshing to see someone who made the connection with worship and public photography being protected by the same Amendment. You almost never see someone get that.
@@JakeStrange66 The US Supreme Court has ruled through case law that recording video is a protected 1st Amendment activity through the "free press" aspect of the 1st Amendment. If you do not like like that then take it up with the US Supreme Court.
@@JakeStrange66 Apparently you did not read the wording of Price v. Garland or you would have known this. It refers to filming for making a movie and/or documentary in Federal Parks, not filming on public property, government property for the purpose of gathering news content. Justice Ginsburg made that distinction in her response to the decision. Now, following your logic any press organization is forbidden from filming in public and/or on government property because they make revenue stream from their news gathering. Name one media outlet that does NOT make revenue from their news service....name ONE. CNN gets paid, Fox gets paid, MSNBC gets paid, NBC gets paid, CBS gets paid. I think you see the point and how sorely you are completely wrong in your interpretation.
Another great audit, and props to the old guy. I've lost my temper and reacted badly a few times in life too, so I always appreciate seeing someone take a breath and straighten up their act, his apology seemed genuine. I don't believe in God, but I see churches at least sometimes inspire people to be better, more compassionate. Btw, I live in Orange County, I'd love to tag alone on an audit sometime and watch live
I think the older guy just sees things different due to technology.. he sees a camera and has the best bionic ears ever hearing the word “Scientology” and freaks out. Then a younger guy comes over to smooth things over and they were all cool since gramps understood better that cameras are not all that scary. I’m glad that it turned out pretty good. The gentleman just took things better plus invited you guys in 😊
One of the most baffling things in this type of video is even after you tell them what you are doing they always say, and especially to the cops, that you won't tell them what your doing. Overall in this case, they did pretty well once they calmed down
You notice no one, or hardly anyone, ever says why they think they deserve information. It is always, "What is this?" Never, "Hi I'm the Assistant pastor, or bank manager, or whatever." But they want to know who you are and what "We" are doing. The "we" always gets me. I think I would say something like, "Well I'm not sure. I know what I'm doing but not sure about you" One thing I have noticed when I talk to people. A lot of people can accept that public photography is legal. But many people still think you need permission to record children.
I would just kindly remind them that they're enjoying their freedom to worship their God... Just in the same way as you're enjoying your freedom to record anything that you can see from a public space... As both these rights are legally covered under the first amendment.
That man really hiked a distance (roundtrip three times!) to deliver his messages. He failed in his initial objective, but exercise never hurts anyone. Of course, we had to hear the word "kids"...smh...but overall it ended positively, with them recognizing they owed you an apology.
Very good of them. And I bet they felt better for doing so. I found it to be very mature and thoughtful of the church members (I'm gay so I just don't feel welcome in any church, and Im always dubious of guys like these, but their apologies impressed me). Most folks harass the auditors, beat them up, break their equipment, or call the cops on them.
The man who kept coming back for more showed how he really cherishes his ignorance when he didn't want information to enlighten him. By contrast, the other man took the info. Some people just want to live their lives in a bubble of ignorance. Toward the end of the video, did he learn something or was it peer pressure that his collegue sort of made him look bad?
I believe you meant quash when you said squash. Quash: put an end to; suppress. "a hospital executive quashed rumors that profit is the primary focus of the healthcare industrial complex."

What I find interesting is that none of the places of worship you visit have the specific demographics that, based on past history, would have a need to be concerned about the motives of people hanging around outside. Yet they're always insistent on finding out those motives regardless. I'm also fascinated by their need to approach multiple times and in different groups.
Bravo to you and the SDA as well. What a great encounter. They were concerned at first but you put their fears to rest. I believe that at least 97.3% of all Adventists would pass an audit given the same circumstances. Being that nobody is perfect. Not yet anyway.
Keep them in check? In check for what? They did nothing. This asshole is no hero. He's just an annoyance. Scientology is a joke, but he's gaining nothing but to harass. He's not uncovering any great revelations.
