The mere thought of having Jordan, Hakeem and Clyde on a same team is scary ... Like really scary. Their own worst enemies would probably be themselves and chemistry... But if they somehow managed to adapt, they would be unstoppable and Op as hell...
Kobe Bryant is one example who is quite well-known for being in trade rumors back in the 2000s. He even wanted to be traded to the Clippers, according to Jerry West.
The problem is most legends that stayed with one team were rarely ever in talks about being traded. There's a reason they stayed with one team. Because they were good. It would have to be a video with multiple players. Because almost everyone was talked about being traded once. I know kobe, Dirk was rumored to be traded for Shaq. Thats all I can think of really.
This video is exactly why I watch this channel. If I want my daily analysis I tune in to Thinking Basketball or Coach Daniel but there is no better channel than this for the stories Basketball writes.
I figured all of these came from the 80’s portion of MJ’s career, If it were the 90’s Jerry Krause would be a deadman walking. LMAO, but this also shows you how GM’s can be impatient. Not saying all players can turn out to be the 🐐 but you just never know. Lol
Unfortunately, MJ had a terrible team ( in the 80s ). He was the only star player in his team. MJ in the East had to face teams such as the Boston Celtics, Pistons and Bucks. JORDAN is the only one who put up a decent resistance to the Detroit Pistons team ( 1989/1990 ). As soon as Scotte Pippen made it to his first All-star Gamer, the Chicago Bulls were on the verge of beating the Pistons. But in Game 7, of the 1990 Eastern Conference Finals, half of the team was injured. Pippen had a migraine.
If you manage to put Magic Jhonson, Jordan, LeBron, Duncan and Hakeem on the Clippers, all os they in their primes, they would still lose in the second round, the curse is just too powerful
Think Durant Harden Westbrook ONLY BETTER. Jordan would probably play PG and Clyde would be the SG while Hakeem would C. This team will give the showtime lakers a run for their money in the 80s. If they don't disband, they will have a dynasty spanning the 80s to the 90s. Crazy.
At the same time I don't blame the Rockets. Ralph Sampson was every bit the big man prospect as David Robinson, Shaq, and Duncan, and he was coming off a ROY season.
I think he would still be a all-star, all-nba,all-defender, a scoring champ, and a hall of fame, but his value in the Goat debate would without a doubt, take a monster hit, and he probably just be traded, cause he would clash with his team for lack a help.
@@justainternetwonderer1273 He would be in a much worse situation as Donald Sterling was a very cheap owner and wouldn't have gotten him the help he needed
That 1988 Clipper deal was actually better than that: supposedly it was combination of any five players/picks they had. Let's say they took Cage, Benjamin, Woodson (arguably best three players clips had at the time) + both picks. They possibly counted on Mitch Richmond being there at #6. Having, say, a core of Smits (taken with #1 instead of manning), Richmond, Pippen, Oakley and Horace Grant would be pretty decent. Plus they'd still have their own pick and could take a point guard later on, like Strickland. Maybe not three-peat material, but would be interesting for sure.
Interesting the rockets chose the twin towers over the two greatest shooting guards in there era to team with hakeem...that would've been at least a 10peat...but you can't fault them because they had the two greatest big men to come out of college in a long time back to back and thought it would be a devastating combination but ultimately failed in having a trifecta of alltime greats in there 1st and second yrs in the league...combined they won 9 championships and 8 finals mvps and made 11 finals appearances individually as opposed to one final appearance with the twin towers.
