2 of the best UA-cam channels in a Collaboration? This is going to be awesome! Not to mention consuming even more of my free time to watch. Sacrifices need to be made to watch this much talent come together in an epic build!
Two of the best fabricators on UA-cam, you are a huge inspiration to me. Unfortunately, nobody in my country does this, so I have to struggle on my own. But thank God I have you on UA-cam. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Karl you are so lucky to team up with Brent on this build, he is a magician when building custom applications for trucks cars ,hot rods ,you name it. I watched you fabricate the hinge and frame for this truck and you are surely top quality. I will watch this build to see your ideas become reality. Thanks to both of you for having us along, Stu in Ontario..............
I been a fan of HAK for some time . Brent is a true craftsman, he makes it look easy . Great job so far, looking forward to more . Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out .
I’ll tell you what. There is nothing like a bunch of friends to help you when you need it. Plus a different set of eyes on a project. Mad skills as always. Cheers guys
It’s coming along nicely guys. Can’t wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
What a team, alot on the fly 💡 ideas, an both of u guys are some talented builders, what a great start, that's what a great group does, getting it done.tks for sharing, time for couple COLD ONES guys
Between the two of you, you have so much enthusiasm and skill, I believe the sky is the limit on what you could accomplish! I enjoy watching what you do and how you come about doing it! Keep it coming Brent and Karl!
Hey I need a plate for a duel alternator hook up and no one in my town has a CBC cutting table and I will pay for materials and labor if I send you a picture of what I need will you respond back to me please thank you for your time and patience
Awesome to see Esther and Brent in Karl’s shop collaborating this is going to be exciting . I’m taking a guess here. I’d like to commend Esther on her camera work and I’m guessing again her drone filming skills and if I’m right, quite the humble achiever. Love your cab over concept Karl and if I’ve spelt your name wrong my apologies.
This is great Karl that you and Brent are doing this. Your plasma cutter. Can cut some really thick stock. Looking forward to this build. Thank you very much!
Those frame horns are impressive! The fact that you drew them up and went straight to .25 Steel is awesome! I always cut everything out of cardboard first and make sure my drawing was good before I go to steel. My wife has an x-tool laser so I have that option. That cardboard first idea has saved me a lot of money in screw ups in my drawings. Another great video! Thanks again! Really digging this build!!!!! 🔥
It needs either air, hydraulic, or electric actuators to lift the cab. I used air to lift my combination engine cover, tool box, spare tire storage. Mine is an Econoline pickup cab project where I built my own chassis with the engine behind the cab. With the big 19" 10 bolt wheel for a spare it is to heavy for a person to safely lift.
I've been making a C8000 Ford cab over into a rollback for about a year and seeing that cab outside at your shop in a video had me excited to see the build. I'm a poor city employee so things go slow. If you open the doors it helps lower the raising weight. Your channel and Halfass has been two of my favorites for a couple of years. Good luck and thanks for.this build.
My two favorite UA-cam channels working together, how freaking cool is that?!?! If you guys don’t do more projects together I will be sorely disappointed!!!!
The boxed frame extensions are works of art. Great problem solving skills and mental visualization of the frame rail and steering pump mounting solutions. Great video as usual. Looking forward to seeing progress on the Zephyr but I understand. Too many projects, not enough time.
Thanks Ralph! This type of critical thinking is sort of like fun puzzles to me. Always a challenge. Once the ramp truck moves on its own power I’m going to jump back onto the Zephyr for a little bit. I really want to get the quarter panels and body lines finished.
By golly it looks as though you guys have this build figured out. I would have been surprised if not. It is a pleasure watching such great talent. Speaking of talent I was having breakfast at a resturant in Portland and there was a gray '46, I think, Ford sedan parked out front. I found out who owned it and struck up a conversation. It was Lee from L&C. Great guy. I don't know what it is about you guys from Canada but it is always my pleasure talking and learning from you. I remember the days I used to attend the Portland Swap and the guys from Canada were the best. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas.
Ah! The venerable "Cardboard Cad" joined by computer assisted 😎 "Twice as nice at half the price" of multiple prototypes. The torch on that FastCut looks a lot like the old Komatsu High-Definition Plasma - but it may be a laser? Good that you got the latch - and that the Cavalry arrived! And on to the 'Dinosaur CNC-less Cutting Non-table'. Nice work with the oxy-acety! Day 1 - Don que Cabo - the Cab that Tilted, and latched. Good work for 1 day. On to Day 2 - ♪♪ LS Engine, LS Engine - I hear heaven when I rev you LS Engine! Trust the ECU to control all your functions, LS Engine, LS Engine ... ♪♪ Thanks for the great work, both of you (and friends) - look forward to the next installment
AWESOME… When you were doing the welds I was thinking.. that’s how I would have maybe done it ..but it seemed so sketchy… then again if it was me welding it would have been sketchy. You’ve really smashed out the fabrication and welding regards the bumper/steering box mounts another episode where I have learned more than a ‘thing’ and an inspiration to all fabricators(I’m not really a fabricator, I melt stuff and cry) Great collaboration with Brent off now to ‘sub’ to his Channel.. Thanks Karl…
Great to see two of my favorite people working together! I want to see more youtubers doing this. It is so Cool!!!! Thanks guys for the awesome content!
Karl you two guys make a great team and from here it looks as though you have finally conquered the toughest part of the build. Well engineered and it should function well. It will certainly be a big hit at the car shows if you are planning on anticipating and it will be a big hit if it looks anything like the drawings. Very good engineering skills guys👍✊
Barry Gilgen very interested in this COE build, amazing how someone can convert this in to a use able vehicle, you are very talented to do this. can't wait to watch and see what comes out of this.
Goooooood morning! It's fulfilling watching you teach yourself engineering as you work through how things function and how you can use or adapt those systems. I'm not a morning person, I just happened to be up. This makes it worth it. Already smashed that like.
Love you CAD(Cardboard Assisted Drawings) work. Later if you want, add some pressure struts to assist in lifting. That way it will not twist as much and maybe you could lift it with your pinky. Nice work so far.I'll
You might want to consider adding a couple of gas lift struts. They would help lift the cab and slow the fall. The torsion bar would do most of the work, but the struts could be the difference. They would also stabilize the cab side to side.
If you are worried about filling the front fenders, use an adapter (if necessary) to mount up a semi super single on the front on each side. A super single is basically the same width as a pair of dually rear tires mounted on a single rim, sort of like the same width as a drag racing slick. You could do that front and rear if you wanted it to match on both ends, and it should have no trouble carrying fairly heavy loads on back.
Welcome HAK to JK! Great collaboration on the build. Small point to mention, you should not weld, drill, heat frame flanges. Makes them a weak point. Bolt angle bracket to frame web and weld on that. Awesome project, need a smaller version for the baby Buick.
Brent is a fantastic fabricator his builds are amazing, good to see the collaboration
It’s sick that only 2 guys can have that much talent!
Thanks, Steve!
Lov'n this series!!

Wow a bunch of work!
Fun to watch your fabrication on this. Looking forward to more of the build.
Thanks Tim!
Fabrication on such a high level. Fricken Awesome!
From my old (hino) cabover days, opening doors made a big difference for lifiting cab.

Nice one lads!! That front bracket was nice engineering.
Ester and Brent are Manitoba’s finest!

Favorite quote now is "shop warming present". Love it. Nice work.

Awesome build series Karl can’t wait for the next video to drop !
Nice to see I'm not the only one that forgets about the ground clamp some times. :)
This reminded me of Corb Lund Hard on Equipment. "Anything is a hammer" lol
Man, I am so looking forward to seeing this truck come to life!
Thanks for the inspiration to keep at my build.
That plasma table is one bad ass Mochine, dang it’s smooth. I can’t believe how clean it pierced.

I second that, opening the doors makes a big difference lifting the cab on my cf8000.
Impressive, for two guys used to working alone I'm sure it is nice to brainstorm as you go. Nailed those front frame supports on one go, nice.
Really diggin it man!! Good job brother!
