Thanks for the stud RB. Normally, I wouldn’t like a RB to have more TDs than catches in college, but when that number of TDs is 58, I’m cool with that🤣🤣

Blake Corum really does seem to have crazy instincts and vision. He runs like he's seeing the field from the same top down view that we see on TV. He's got a really good lateral cut and it's not a standardized distance like some other RB's. He can make that cut as short or as long as he needs to. Not only that, but he's able to change his speed drastically on his cuts as well he can accelerate through his lateral cuts or decelerate. With the way he runs if he had even a solid run blocking O-line infront of him, it's hard to see him not being at least somewhat successful on an NFL team. I think it's also worth mentioning that due to the style of offense Michigan played, he wasn't just running the ball into a loaded box, a lot of the time the entire defense knew he was going to get the ball, had watched the film, and tried to gameplan to stop the run, and still wasn't able to stop him.
He doesn't run like he's trying to juke a single player. He runs like he's trying to juke the entire defense, which is I think exactly the style of running you want on zone runs. He treats the entire defensive formation like a single entity. His first 3 steps with the ball and speed of that acceleration are also really good (at least to my eyes). Overall, like you guys said, he just seems like an extremely sharp decisive runner. Amazing vision and technique, can hit even the most minuscule gaps, but doesn't have the absurd physical freak measurables (that bench press though).

Imho vision and intellect is one of the most important traits in RBs. Corums got that, plus hes just a dawg mentally. 4.5 is enough to be a good rb

I was watching a Blake Corum highlight video and on 2 of his cutback runs JJ McCarthy raced down the field by his side to block for him. People wonder why he is highly considered because he didn’t throw for 400 yards a game but he’s very talented and didn’t care at all about his own stats. JJ is a team first guy and he gets total buy in from his teammates because he’s totally committed to them.

He was drafted for the RED ZONE. McVay is not trying to HOME RUN with Blake Corum, he'll be used in bubble screens, outlets routes, hitches and switch up plays. The Rams love Kyren Williams but they don't love how often he gets hurt, Blake is really there to take the load OFF Kyren. When Kyren went down in the Detroit game, that took a lot of air out of the offense, hence the Corum addition.

Edwards was having a really, really poor season until late. Bad vision and never broke tackles. But he had surgery before that season, was non-contact all thru camp and it seemed he never truly got his legs under him. He has been adding muscle this offseason already and early indications are he looks like he is headed for a much better season. He could end up being anything from a late first rounder to a 6th-7th rounder.

Michigan oline was not good in 2023. There's a reason only 2 of the 6 got drafted.
Yes in 21/22 it was elite but overall it took a step back in 23.
If both of Michigan running backs had a down year who's at fualt? Probably oline
Corums going to be an excellent pro.
