Sorry to say but that mustard oil tip which u said actually spoils it completely and its of no good, we Bengalis always use it in most of our dishes like normal oil, it's very healthy and gives an unique flavour to ur food but ur method actually spoils it dear :)

Priyanka Mazumder I agree. in fact she got it wrong. high smoking point means k hum use high temp tak use kr sakte hain without destroying the structure of the oil. like extra virgin olive oil gets destroyed and becomes harmful when heated as it has low smoking point. and that is why Italians use it to pour from on top

Utkarsha Ranjan and Priyanka Mazumder Incase using Olive oil for cooking one must use Poamace coz it has relatively a higher smoking point. Whereas, for salads n dressings stick to extra virgin quality.
Also, the correct way of cooking with Mustard oil is first to heat it up to it's smoking point ,cool it a little and then put ingredients, coz it helps in breaking up of aric acid in the oil and also it's said that it helps in breaking the compounds present in the oil which are usually deemed not too fit for consumption.

Poonam Abbi there's a difference in how the oil is extracted and hence the usage..I suggest u must read or google all about Mustard oil and that should answer ur question in DETAIL.
