Great review. I am gravitating towards the bike for the same reasons you stated. I workout everyday, and the bike will be a better form of active recovery cardio. I think i might get the bike and the skierg so i can do cardio with my upper body after leg day. Also if i get injured i can still do cadio with the part of my body that isn't hurt.
This is a great review! It’s funny you mentioned the height restriction and so great you did - I am 5-1 and this is exactly why I have never been drawn to an exercise bike - they are all too big. So I keep my biking to my actual bike when it is nice outside. I love that there is an app these machines work with - that’s amazing. My home gym is so full right now but I’m interested in your treadmill review in the future cuz I seem to burn through those every few years so I’m always collecting info for the “next one”. Also - would love more on what you mentioned about older age and muscle something - I can’t remember the word you used with it but it did not sound good. Thanks for this great review! Tom! Noelle
I love the Trueform runners but they are tough to run on for a long time. Great for intervals. There is a small incremental muscle loss ‘wastage’ each year with age which can be slowed down or even reversed with weight training. You’re already doing the right things in these workouts 👌 Just keep on top of your protein intake also 💪🏼
My wife is 4'10" and has no problem with the bikeERG regular-height seat. You can also order it with lower-height (or higher height) or order that as a retro-fit.
I have the rowerg, it. Is awesome. Do you have an issue with shifting on zwift? Like does it interfere with racing or riding? I'm deciding between the bikeerg and the stages sb20 (mainly for the ease of shifting and training with erg mode). It's hard to match the reliability of concept2 though.
Yes it’s not as convenient having gears down so low but I just like simplicity of concept 2 as it gets so much use in my studio & don’t use Zwift often.

Which would you choose & why?

Ye I think bike it best for not over-training. Rower best if it’s your only training. Good luck with your home gym set up!
