cardistry takes a lot of diligence and practice. many of the people i know who do them have been practicing for years. there is little to no room to cheat in performance; your skill is really all you have, and that's why i can always appreciate someone who does cardistry.
Yea but there is a lot of flourishes with diffrent difficult level. For example Charlier Cut - you can learn it in a few minutes. Opposite - Tornado Cut - very hard move. Even one trick cann surprise/blow someone who watch it, it is why i like cardistry more than penspinning. And also cards are magical thing
They revolutionized cardistry and made it it’s own thing. If they didn’t start doing magic, I don’t think that the cardistry community will ever exist if they didn’t. It’s such a amazing art and I love it.
I will never forget that this is the video that brought me to this channel, and made me love it ever since. Thank you do much Great Big Story, you are lowkey one of my favourite channel in youtube. Even till today i remember most of your iconic videos, especially the ones about food since they usually company me while having a meal. It's sad to see you go but Thank You for all this years and great big stories you have brought to this channel ❤❤❤❤
If anyone wants to see more videos, Cardistry is sometimes called card flourishes. "Cardistry" is actually a relatively new word, maybe only around the past ~5-10 years did it have a google-able term.
I got a tip that worked, or atleast for me: So learn the steps to do your card shuffling, and try to remember with muscle memory. When you do it, do it while looking at a fun video, or something to keep you amused and makes you not look at the cards, then you will learn it also without looking and you will over-all learn it faster. Again, worked for me, don't know about others.
From speed-cubing to pen-spinning to zippo flipping to balisong spinning, and now I have another journey... Cardistry! Can't believe I didn't learn this sooner.
It's funny that I recently got into this, thinking to myself.. well I've been thinking about this for years.. about time to start learning card tricks.. And then realize Cardistry is actually a new and growing branch of card usage. I'm really glad I started this. And it's just there's no cheating with this, a lot of tricks have to be performed perfectly. You cannot stop practicing ever.
By far the #Legendtwins I love the passion & enthusiasm they have for anything card related both magic aswell as cardistry and how they speak of these things with such pride! Love you guys❤️
As a skateboarder, I love the analogy. I understand it wholeheartedly without even trying it for myself. Hope you guys get even bigger than your goals 🙏
Huge respect to these guys , as a beginner these guys are nothing but legends but that's the dumbest thing i have heard today. That's like saying basketball or football is for doing tricks with those rather than playing
@blackgoku678 no, you missed the point. Is not like you wouldn't be able to use cards to do magic, play games or gamble. It is about YOU as a person (Cardist) associating deck of playing cards with Cardistry. Pretty much the point is that for people to see a card and instead of saying "oh yeah those things gamblers use" or "oh the cards we use to play Poker" you could be like "oh this cards would look awesome while doing 'The Worm' on them" or something like that.
for anyone else looking, the orange and black geometric deck at 0:27 are called "Prime Playing Cards" and they are sold out on artofplay.com but a few other websites still have copies left.
“Route of Ages - Aurum” by Encarded featuring Predator. “Liquid Paper” by The Virts My two favorite flicks of all time. I get chills every time I watch them.
If anyone's thinking of learning some of this, look up "cardistry" in youtube there are tutorials everywhere. Try Searching : "School of cardistry" "beginner cardistry" Or "beginner card flourish" To get started. Personally I'd suggest sybil (I believe dan and dave said it was thier first). Also a tip, put rubber bands around the packets before you start and practice moving them around first. That way you don't have to pick up the whole deck each time you screw up. Hope this helps.
Martin Tabanag Only a little bit, I struggle to get things smooth. Also I focus more on the classic stuff, like the cuts created by these two masters, not so much on the new stuff. Cardistry nowadays has many forms. Theres stuff like isolations, cool cascades but fancy cuts continue to be my favorite type of cardistry.
Because my channel revolves around other things, and I'm really not that good. You can find real talent on youtube so my input wouldn't be worth much. I have made a little compilation about these guys on my other channel though: /watch?v=trzmbg_Qp4E
Well you should ask your manager if that's even allowed. I know in some places, dealers can't do flourishes because the players may be able to see some cards, also you might get accused of manipulating cards. I would recommend learning a move called "flicker" though, it's a one card move that's fun and easy to do to deal down like a final card.
These guys will be talked about forever. #Legends
😋
You're sure to find you in any video card related😂👌🏼
Chris Ramsay Yo what's up! welcome back!

fairykim with cardistry learning a flourish takes a week, mastering it takes a year

Lukas Ky Charlie cut in minutes???? You don't know what you talking about.
But yes the problem of penspinning is that the tricks look similar.
As a master card flourisher, thank you. No body cares but everyone looks.
@@fokusnikfm Necroing but I learned Charlier just from seeing it once on tv. It's incredibly easy.
the true OGs of cardistry
My boys! Do legit. Living legends.
Didn’t expect to see you here

Reading through the comments and seeing the number of non-cardists appreciating the art just makes me feel so good inside.
If anyone wants to see more videos, Cardistry is sometimes called card flourishes. "Cardistry" is actually a relatively new word, maybe only around the past ~5-10 years did it have a google-able term.
Oh thank you very much, I wondered why I could find nothing about it

To Commenter: something like this happens to me too, if i look at my hands too much when i play piano,i forget what it.s next
Take a good look at these two, they are one of the people that shaped and made something that is to stay for decades to come,
From speed-cubing to pen-spinning to zippo flipping to balisong spinning, and now I have another journey... Cardistry!
Can't believe I didn't learn this sooner.
Beautifully shot and edited...and D&D are the best!
That's a really cool skill. Just walk around with cards everywhere, entertainment on the spot.
Hound Life Vlogs I tell you what, it’s waaaaaay better to whip out a deck of cards versus staring at a screen when you have time to kill! Lol
Hound Life Vlogs cardistry is becoming the new Patreon
You must try it? Just remember you need to start at the basics
It's funny that I recently got into this, thinking to myself.. well I've been thinking about this for years.. about time to start learning card tricks..

The intro act was very attractive. With that music it seems to be a part of the movie which Nolan would make on cards ( if he ever does ).

You know they're really amazing at these moves when they even look smooth and polished in slow motion

Michael Wolff Funny when I can do Phased but can't do Sybil, I can do Faro shuffle but can't do Riffle shuffle
Did you try learning sybil or riffle shuffle.
MORE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CARISTRY BECAUSE AT MY SCHOOL 99.99% WILL SAY WHAT IS CARDISTRY
Sees Dan and Dave collaborating with great big story. Me: clicks as fast as I can
Cool! I wonder if they could do these tricks together...have one person toss and one catch perhaps! I could never do this!
Where can one purchase that orange black and yellow deck, deck of cards is gorgeous af
Lee Sai Gett from Dan and Dave's own website artofplay! :) it's a new print of an older deck

Woooh, amazing guy's.......
WOW! That is so Cool, Very Talented Very Skilled!
So cool!
Iv been a card flourisher for 10 years and i do agree these two were pioneeres
What a wonderful form of art. I think they held competitions about this?
Yeah, they do. But the kind of cardistry you see on those competitions is a bit different from what these guys do.
Tinky Winky i would really like to cover those kinds of events and show the world this kind of community and art form. Do you fo cardistry too?
Martin Tabanag Only a little bit, I struggle to get things smooth. Also I focus more on the classic stuff, like the cuts created by these two masters, not so much on the new stuff. Cardistry*
Cardistry Legend👍👍👍
Love it!
Does anyone know the name of the geometric, orange and black borderless cards? Those are the sickest cards I've ever seen.b
Did you ever figure out where those cards came from? I'm looking for them
I saw a comment saying its from their own website artofplay and that it is a new version of an older deck ( comment was an answer by @Meeko )
Cool!
Beautiful
that shirts give +100 dexterity :D
mesmerising indeed. i wonder how many paper cuts they got from practicing...
I'd love to learn this especially since I'm a BlackJack dealer at a casino! I'd blow people's minds but I'm too lazy😭
Just learn the card spring

Ayyyy cardistry is an art
Legends of cards
Very cool.
where do u guys get your music? it's awesome!
Amazing!
They make it so easy...
No they don't.
So in nutshell, this could mean how to impress your friends (and crush) while playing cards?
It's not just about showing off, it's just fun to do. But yes you could do that.
Damn right! Too bad my gf isn't into it as much as me! -buttcards
I feel bad for the guy who had to clean up those cards at the end.
They probably did it themselves. Cardists don't trust other people to pick up their cards.
CARD LEGENDS!!!
Around 20800 cardist magicians and maybe even card players awesome
Holy shit, this is awesome!
Where can i learn this ?! >
