Synopsis:Danny Ocean, a gangster, assembles a group of eleven people in an effort to steal money from three popular casinos in Las Vegas owned by his rival, Terry Benedict.
Always funny to watch the younger reactors not recognize any of the "tv celebs" being taught poker by Brad Pitt in the beginning.
I was thinking that too 😂
And yet, how many of them have attained the same level of fame and stardom? Everyone still knows who Brad Pitt is.
To be fair, I watched this when it came out and I only recognized one of them besides Topher haha
I remember when I first saw this movie I happily called out literally everyone lol. It was great. Love how casual the scene is.
I'm pretty sure he recognized them but just didn't mention it, the same way Julia Roberts popped up and Seb didn't say anything, he reacted to Spider-Man 3 and there was Topher Grace too, same thing with Joshua Jackson who is well known for The Skulls with Paul Walker
This was one of the first (if not the first) big mainstream movies to use the whole "EMP" thing, so they had to explain it. Same thing with the "film a fake vault" trope. This is the blueprint for modern heist movies. Right down to the music.
What is EMP?
@@aegnor2102The electro-bomb
@@aegnor2102Electro Magnetic Pulse
@@jennv2948 thanks
james bond golden eye in 95 had emp as a plot device and was explained there as well..............
Fun fact, the wig Brad Pitt is wearing at 21:39 is actually Austin Powers wig. They were filming on the same lot at the same time and borrowed a wig from their set for this scene.
26:45 The best thing is that this is where most people recognise Brad Pitt's voice. Except it was actually Clooney doing an impression of Pitt (just because of who was available when they shot the scene).
Brought heist movies to a new level and made them really popular, the entire series is great fun but this one is definitely just stand out for being mostly grounded.
Oceans eleven was a remake of the 1960s movie of the same name. , not realy original .
@@marcusfranconium3392 Aside from the name and the general concept of a Vegas heist, the two films have extremely little in common.
@@ffaristocrat remake , they fuck it up in the remakes . just like lady killers . and other movies .
@@marcusfranconium3392 I'll stand by Ladykillers for life, I don't care lol. IMO it's got a lot going for it.
I wish reactors would kind of keep in mind that while yes, at this point in modern cinema a lot of these tropes, formats and ideas have been overdone, when watching an older movie you have to put yourself in that mindset of it being the at the forefront of a genre or the first of its kind. So if they’re explaining something that we now know as common sense, it’s because back then it wasn’t.
Brad was making money teaching poker. Those were 90's/Early 2000's stars playing themselves.
"Did you get the divorce papers?
Last day I was inside.
Told you I'd write."
Best exchange in the movie to me. Pure gold.
Andy Garcia is an underrated master of acting. As he prepared for his role as Terry Benedict, he meticulously honed what he termed "The Benedict Strut". The bit at @27:55 (in your video) where he's walking away from the camera was filmed around a month *after* the following shot where he's walking towards the camera, and every aspect of his walk matches 100%.
That definitely the "George Jefferson" lbs
She went back to Danny because she saw he cared about her, he showed her that Terry never did care about her.
The Ocean movies are so great you’ll really love these man. I LOVE the Italian Job! Another heist movie with a fun ensemble cast. I think you would enjoy it!
Yes! One of my favorite as well!
Always shocks me when people don't freak out about Bernie Mac in this movie or in transformers. I could cry 😫💔 R.I.P to the best comedian ever
You should watch "Gone in 60 seconds", "The Italian Job", and "Now you see me"
After the Ocean's Trilogy, you should go for 1992's "Sneakers".
Ocean's Eleven is a masterpiece, Twelve isn't great (there are a LOT of things that are just wrong about it, too much to go into here) but Thirteen brings it back and is really good as well.
I can verify this statement is accurate.
The worst thing about 12 is they make everyone look incompetent. I hate when sequels feel they have to tear the characters down to make things interesting.
Exactly my thoughts too!
Disagree about 12. Yes it's the least favourite out of the 3 but it wasn't bad like everyone makes it out to be. You have to keep in mind, oceans 11 was such a big tremendous hit that the sequel woulda had to be a "bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, 2 outs, knock it out of the park" hit for it to even be considered good. No, 12 wasn't a hit like that but it was still a homerun hit.
@@sinnncere1680 I agree with the statement Oceans 12 wasn't really bad but just different especially with how iconic 11 was thing was it just wasn't as popular as 11. The three Oceans movies are pretty much the same as the Hangover movies the first is a masterpiece while the second is different but yet has flaws where it became the least favorite then the third brings it back together
It’s always fun watching people get “mad” at Clooney for “ruining” the plan - and then they realize by the end that he obviously made himself visible and red flagged on purpose as a distraction for Terry for the sake of the plan. Lol
I love this movie so much. It has such a beautiful soundtrack. Thank you seb for being such a wonderful, inspiring, and amazing person. ❤️🍻
how is he wonderful or inspiring? he's just reacting to movies?
One of things I appreciate about Seb is the fact he edits his own videos. Love that from a content creator.
Why does that matter?
@@NBAgladiatoreditors are fine, however if u edit ur own videos it shows how much passion u have for the videos u make.
@JermRantsAlot not necessarily... some creators just want to serve their audience and get out as much content as possible and faster
@@NBAgladiator And most discerning fans appreciate someone who values making good content over fast content.

My dad and I used to see movies together all the time, this trilogy is one of our favorites.
There's one hole in the heist that the filmmakers have acknowledged they just totally missed it when it was being made: there's no possible way to have the vault team send up all the decoy duffels. Why? Where'd all those flyers come from? They obviously wouldn't have already been in the vault, we see Danny and Linus didn't bring them, and Yen barely has room to hold himself in that cart. But it's a testament to how well you buy in to these guys that most people don't even pick up on that.
I wouldn't have put it past the Malloys or Livingston to have planted the fliers in hidden compartments to fly out pneumatically using the same trigger that blew up the bags.
@@twylanaythias I mean, possible, but then what was in the bags they sent up as full?
@@inarar5334 Good point. I mean, Yen could have had the *empty* duffels with him but....
Oooooooooooh! Just had an idea - two ideas, actually. And you can thank Now You See Me for the inspiration.
Option 1 ) The crew installed a false floor in the van. Casino security carried the duffels with actual money in them (which would have been a double safeguard should they peek inside) and, once in the van, the floor flipped to hide the real bags and expose the fake ones. If anything went awry with the SWAT ploy, they could still recover the money from the van.
Option 2 ) Frank *did* buy multiple vans from the dealership... Even with the convoy following the van that left the casino, they could have broken line-of-sight long enough to bring in a second van (the one that had the adult fliers with explosives).
@@twylanaythias I appreciate this effort but that's really reaching. Option 1) if that were what they did, they would have shown us, because that is actually a slick idea. Option 2) who's driving the second van? Only person available at the moment for that is Reuben, and thats a bad idea on a couple of levels.
There are probably a few more things if you think about it. For example: Rusty didn't get off the phone with Benedict until the "SWAT team" arrived, so he somehow then immediately joined the rest of the crew and suited up as another SWAT member on the casino grounds with no one noticing?
This movie is so damn "COOL"... The look, the mood, the music... All so good. :)
Me, a south African, watching seb say he cant remember the last time he had a powercut 👁_👁 iykyk
the best movies are the ones that you can watch over and over again, and catch new things. Just such a tight movie.
I’ve been looking for some good reactions to this series and there aren’t many. Super glad you gave this a watch!☺️
James vs Cinema has a GREAT one, if you haven't seen it already!
It's funny when Pitt is the swat member and his accent is Aldo from Inglorious Bastards.
if you haven’t already, would love for you to react to the Night At The Museum trilogy just as another fun lil set of films to get into. i’m currently rediscovering it after having not watched any of them since the first one!
Another one you'd probably enjoy is The Saint, starring Val Kilmer. Different tone and themes, but still pretty good. A necessary part of any heist movie marathon.
*"Is this the best heist film?"*
It's definitely in contention.
Best Heist movie keeps you guessing with best end Twister. "Where the f..k you been?" so funny. ❤😊
26:48 according to the DVD commentary, it was George impersonating Brad as Brad was off that day.
So glad you’re watching this trilogy!! One of my all time favorites! Please watch the Bourne trilogy next! So good!
I remember watching this for the first time in VHS when I was 10. I was either too dumb of distracted to understand the entire plan lol but after a second viewing it all made sense
You should also check out the original Ocean's 11 with Frank Sinatra and company
Awesome as always Seb. Yes please, watch the Bourne movies next :)
In Quebec we do get power outages during the winter, mostly if it's extremely windy
I love the music in this movie!!! This whole movie has such a nice vibe to it!
A fun sort of spinoff by the same director is Logan Lucky. It's self-described as "Ocean's 7-11".
Brad Pitt's wig was worn by Mike Myers in "Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery." Brad borrowed it for the scenes in Ocean's 11.
Also, yes please do the Jason Bourne movies!!
describing Ocean's 11 as slow-paced is hilarious
I notice you've been watching musicals every now and again. I would recommend - Tick, Tick... Boom! - It has Andrew Garfield as the lead role, which was surprising as I didnt know he could sing.
1:40 oh yeaaahhh i remember that these were all tv show actors hahaha
Hell yeah!! This movie/the trilogy is so much fun to watch. Enjoy!
Ready to see all the new movie reactions are next and keep up the good work seb
I know a lot of people don’t like these movies but after Oceans 11 I fell in love with heist movies. I really enjoy Logan Lucky as well.
the saying you were trying to think of at the beginning which I believe came from the BBC show Black Adder was something like 'to be as useful as t*ts on a nun'.
A movie you might like as well, if you haven't seen it already is The Italian Job (2003 version)
The Italian job came out before oceans 11, which is a heist movie too
29:17 that’s why it only cost 10 thousand dollars cash to start a subway chain 😭💀
Also...the set of this movie was kind of one big party most of the time. It's kind of a wonder they got anything done. But you can just see in everything they say and do that they were just there having fun. The acting was just an add-on.
Absolute banger of a film. One of my favourites
I remember watching this when I was younger and thinking it was pure magic how smart it was ❤️
The Italian Job (movie). It's Fast and F meets Oceans. 👌
I’m surprised that I didn’t see anyone in the comments mentioning the original Ocean’s 11 with the Rat Pack. You should really check that one out too.
Damn you're lucky you can't remember nights without power. A storm knocked mine out about 2 weeks ago so from 11 pm to about 5 am, we had nothing
ENTRAPMENT is also a good heist film to react to!
Before I watch this I feel it's just your kind of movie Seb.
I played the security guard out front of the entrance to the vault. I let the Mormon brothers in without a key card.
This is the movie me and my husband can watch on repeat for the 7.5 years we’ve been together and we always will ❤
Me: "Why do they always paint hallways that color?"
My Wife: "They say taupe is very soothing."
I don’t think Tess was married to Benedict…just seeing him. She is listed as Tess Ocean in the credits.
Yes, Tess is Danny's ex wife and is just Benedict's girlfriend.
He was teaching tv celebritys how to play poker to list as an acting thing
Cant miss a seb upload.
After watching this you realize how expensive pulling a heist is
This was one of my faves back in the day. What a classic lol
"Were there any heist films before this?"
Did.... did he seriously just ask that?
This is my favorite film of all time.
This movie is a remake. So yes, there were movies like this before this.
Julia Roberts grand entrance down the stairs... Seb, "Oh it's her, I don't know why I was expecting a 19 year old? I guess thats for after hours if he's a billionaire!" 😂😂😂
R.I.P. Bernie Mac...
Seb please do the movies Twisted with Ashley Judd , Along Came A Spider with Morgan Freeman and Seven with Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt. You'll love them trust me. Also Now You See Me 2
This + The Italian Job r my fave heist movies (and Now U C Me, of course)
Wait til u c Ocean's 13 😆
Clooney’s best in my opinion was FROM DUSK TILL DAWN which he starred in with Quentin Tarantino, they were both excellent as criminal brothers. 🎥🍿
If you haven’t watched it, try “Lucky Number Slevin” 😁
It took me a while to find our power outages were just my parents not paying the electric bill....
One of my favourite movies of all time, 12 and 13 are also quite decent It’s a great trilogy (imo)
12 is alright. 13 is much better though.
one of my fav movies,, so glad u watched it!!
Always waiting your uploads every midnight here in the PH just to watch your reactions. I would love to recommend you some of my favorites for you to watch in the near future.
• The Sadness
• Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum
• Thirteen Lives
• Consecration
• Emergency Declaration
• As above So below
• The Pope's Exorcist
Bourne movies are definitely worth watching - all the ones with Matt Damon anyway lol. I liked them quite a bit.
Speaking of George Clooney, you should watch Up in the Air!
This is my favorite film of all time I can’t get enough
Still waiting for someone to do a reaction to the original 1960 version starring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. 🤞
Always smile when these videos pop up
lol @ the peep show reference! as an American I don't get a lotta that in my day to day.
Seb, you should watch 21 next, related to blackjack and the team of mcs counting the cards, honestly remembered it as a fun watch
Off the top of my head, this is the suavest movie I have ever seen. So smoove 👌.
Great reaction! Looking forward to the sequels, which are both pretty well done.
Don't expect the others to be this good
Should watch the movie Sneakers if you like flicks like this. Top notch heist film
My dear Seb, you miss power cuts? Might I suggest a trip to South Africa? They've got you sorted, mate.
I knew Seb would love Basher right off the bat
This is a remake, there is an old oceans 11 heist movie that is really good. It had frank sinatra, Sammy Davis junior and dean Martin
George Clooney was definitely Batman before this lol
Seb i know you'll do Oceans 13 but i hope you do Oceans 8 a well
Awesome movie! Great reaction! 💚
Best of them all
Never mind how they got all the money out. How did they get all those flyers IN? (And, before someone says they brought them in with them in their SWAT disguise... How did they get the ones in the bags that got carried out and put in the van?)
Always a good day when papa Seb post!
i've watched that movie so many times!!!
You should watch The Italian Job. A fun little heist movie!
I think you’d really enjoy Leverage.
