There's a gate that fits perfectly on the entrance of the garage and its still opens up big enough for the car! Also, You could just make another bucket so you have more than one to fill up!

Look at map and close those two gaps to the north of you. One gap is where you put the first fence. Just build better. Other side of that big rock, by the Military gate, too. Seal of the valley. You would have everything south of it, including the lake. Who knows where Spawns come from, yet.

A few notes:
I don't think items despawn (at least those sticks you've left behind didn't)
I don't think you can move to another area because all of your craft benches are at starting point (unless you are okay with constantly running between the original spot and your new place for something more complicated then a simple craft

the game ended for me i could play so far but there will be a cutscene with a big green truck and he will tell u have so many days to get them potatoes u can run him over and kill him and get his stuff but there will be at elast 1 or 2 more
