I just found this side quest and I almost freaked out. Hytham was one of my favorite side characters in Valhalla. Honestly one of the few things I liked about that game.

@@DarkoRavensHe still fought after but would get winded easily. He became a scholar. Most people get killed by the Vikings. He thought that Eivor was compromised, and Kjotve had to die . He was young and impetuous, over confident like a lot of young men, he paid the price for it without whining, and taught Eivor, restored the Hidden Ones, and at the end Eivor was grateful and admiring of Hytham's ability to serve others with genuineness and humbly. Yeah, he is hardly pathetic, you are simply narrow minded in your judgement.

Hytham made the mistake of swift judgement more than once, where Eivor is concerned. It took Hytham weeks to master the techniques that Eivor only needed an hour at most to learn. Hytham even admits that Eivor's stealth and infiltration skills are far above that of anyone he knew back in the Levantine homeland.
You never see Hytham outside of Ravensthorpe's bounds, which speaks volumes as to just how much he (and the Hidden Ones by extension) needed Eivor to do their work for them.
*Paid the price without whining* What would you call his behaviour when Eivor was given a hidden blade? Be a little real here.
@@DarkoRavens Eivor is Odin/Isu, so when he mentored her, of course she caught on quickly. It takes most Hidden Ones years to learn and hone their skills. He was trusted by Mentor Rayhan, and later promoted by the Alamut Brotherhood.
Hytham was at the wedding, originated from the Abbasid Caliphate (a Syrian we know travelled to Baghdad, Iraq and also travelled to Constantinople), travelled with Basim to Norway, and then to Britain where he managed the Bureau at allied Ravensthrope. How much do you want him to travel, or did you forget his journeys?
He directed Eivor which lead to the unification of the nation. He trained new initiates to re-establish the Hidden Ones in Britain. Again you are thinking too narrowly.
He said that the hidden blade was a sacred weapon. Then he saw the value of Eivor. Unable to perform the necessary field work, he developed a relationship and respect for Eivor. Too bad you couldn't see or experience that relationship.
@Foxytrot-sx2vd I think you missed the part where I said he could barely leave the settlement after getting wrecked by Kjotve.
You literally never see him going anywhere by himself at that point, let alone at all if he could. As I said, Eivor did all his work for him.
It's clear enough that you're *choosing* not to see how Hytham is a pathetic character. Overzealous and arrogant in equal measure. Invest in some reading material before trying to pass opinion as fact.
Funny fact:
In arabic the name haytham means young eagle.
Hytham or Haytham? In Valhalla and Mirage - we meet Syrian Hytham. The other is British Haytham Kenway and in a few AC. Both spellings mean the same?
when i played thru valhalla hytham and basim were probably my favorite part of the game, so when i played this tale of baghdad and got to the end i thought to myself "i wonder if this kids hytham?" and as i go to grab my phone to look it up i heard the kids call him by his name, and my jaw dropped open and stayed that way for a good 30 seconds XD, love to see a good callback

My jaw literally dropped the first time I realize this kid was actually Hytham. This game definitely should need a DLC of Basim and Hytham, the start of Hytham's journey as a Hidden One

Too bad his first assassination attempt ended in failure and sustain an injury that put him out of the field for the rest of his life, but at least his greatest legacy was building the Brotherhood in London up.
