VP just dropped their new song for Warframe - Party of your lifetime. This is the first one they originated, and their song is in the new game release! Very fun!!

      VoicePlay wrote the song? 😮

@@kelleyoneal2578 No they didn't write it, but it's never been performed before. And I've been corrected, it's not IN the game, it's part of the official release. I'm not a gamer, so I don't really know how that fits together. Still, they were hired by Warframe to do it, instead of having to buy permission from them to do a cover.

Louis Armstrong did this one in 1952. I was raised in Florida so no fireplace/chimney so Santa really did need to knock on the door. Come to think of it, it was also before air-conditioning so we kept the front door was open and the screen door just had a little latch on it. I was a sleepwalker until about 8 yrs old and mom checked on me, could find me, called the fire dept and they searched the neighborhood and didn't find me. When mom thanked the firemen, she shut the front door and there I was sound asleep in the wedge that the front door had made. Things were different in those days. I do think the late great Satchmo really likes J None since he loaned J None his voice towards the end!

@@ElisabethÅkerbergNilsson That was about 1958 or 9. Glad you enjoyed the tale of me scaring my mom witless.

Thanks for another VoicePlay reaction to their latest Christmas tune. This is the third time that Layne has arranged this one for VoicePlay over the years. Apparently, they used to perform this live in their pre-pandemic touring days. One of the previous arrangements is on one of their Christmas CDs from that time. Always good to see J. back with the guys. He does a great Louis Armstrong tribute. Layne had a new toy to use for this one...they used a robotic arm with multiple cameras. Eli had to connect his computer with the lighting cues to the robotic arm’s computer to sync everything up.

I mean when you really think about it the whole legend of Santa is a bit creepy. This random old man who lets himself into peoples houses and creeps around whilst you sleep. Take away the presents and jolliness and it happening any other night of the year and you’d be calling 911 😂😂😂😂

I first heard this song from Harry Connick Jr and shortly thereafter by the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Because it was so unusual I did a little research to figure out where this was all my life and discovered that Louis Armstrong did it.
I don’t think he would’ve recognized it the way that these guys did it😂. I really enjoyed the Satchmo improv that J did at the end. It’s a nice tribute to the original artist.
They used a robotic arm camera for this so the camera moved and they looked where the camera. They did this song several years ago on their album called Peppermint Winter and it’s a different vibe. Maybe because I first heard it from Harry Connick Jr, but I’ve always thought this sounded like a New Orleans sound song and this really gives me that same feeling.
Did you notice that during the “running and running, he’s coming to get you” section all the guys are reaching for J just like they were all after him in Thriller. Coincidence?🤔
