Dont care what you say, the TW is still a bloody great tractor. Slow by today's standards, but it looks great, sounds great and they last forever. Big brute rules.
My neighbours have an electric car that has added noise for safety, it sounds like something out of a 50's sci-fi movie. Imagine being able to upgrade it to the sound of this lovely Ford. They'd certainly hear you coming! Oh my! Great vid as usual George.
Good old George! I have no affinity for fish but the videos were awesome it's good to see different things and see what other people enjoy! Glad You're keeping well all the best !
Great vid George - almost as good as your “gear jamming vid in the JCB 3220 from 3 years ago” Ha ha! You cannot beat a straight through exhaust!! Brilliant.
Still going strong and sounding great George never get tired of that, love that sound of the turbo slowing down just makes todays machinery dull on comparison for making you feel alive.
The mighty Tdub 💪 wheat & winter Barley are looking really well in Yorkshire! Spuds are coming along well now we've had a drop of rain but messing with the grass season...Another cracking video as per chief Take it easy G.
Another cracking video George love the straight pipe it sounds amazing & love the turbo sound as well keep it up look forward to another vid of the ford TW :)
Similar to the old Eaton twin split on the ERF’s lol. Barks well. Kurt will be sniffing to give ya grief,, but then Podge wouldn’t be Podge if not lol.
Passed HGV1 test in a Leyland Chieftain Artic, that had non synchromesh box about 40 years ago. Lots of grinding for first couple of days but after that smooth as silk.
Yeah I've gotta admit, listening to a turbo whistling away is rather nice. Only bit that gets me on mine is going past a road sign or building next to the road... The reverberation kinda hurts at mid revs 😂😂😣
I'd always double clutch to change down gear, and rev her up to 1500rpm or more before changing up in my TW, took me a couple of days to get use to her and never crunched a gear again.
I ride a motorbike and it's a similar thing. Only use clutch when stopped. Clutchless gear changes up and down the gears with just a little throttle fettling. Happy days lol
I always enjoyed mucking out the covered yard when I was on farm, my boss would drive the loader tractor 🚜 (Massey Ferguson 168) and I would float between a Massey Ferguson 188 & a Zetor Crystal 8011 and then drive down to which ever field that the muck was going to be spread on and return and repeat for about a week and all vital to an excellent crop yield the following year.?????
20 years ago when I was 17 I worked on a farm with an 8210 and a 7740. Any carting on weight and I would be in the 8210. If it was just day after day of field work a would take the 7740 👌🏻👌🏻
My JD 2035 is non syncro too and it changes ok on the move if your on the level but up or down hill sometimes you need to stop if you don't get it right. I think they were one of the last non syncros that JD used as some of the 2040's have syncronised boxes made the same year.
i would use the clutch when changing gears George. pushing the clutch right to the floor activates the clutch - brake to slow the input shaft. try and be a little more patient with changing gears. when you get it right the gear will engage with very little effort and no crunch. it will feel like the gear stick will be sucked from your hand. great tractor look after her. wee had tw10 that got traded for for a Renault 155 now that was a good tractor. hows did the lego building go.
I have often wondered with Dual power if it could be possible to swap the gears in the dual power transmission so instead of normal and slower speed you have normal and higher speed.... cannot get an answer from farm mechanics as to if it can be done....would increase top speed to maybe 22 or more mph
Great sound but not the best of cabs in hot weather nor the super Q lol did many hours on a 7700 and 7610 super Q round baling back in the 90s some where around 12000 in total a year. Stay safe.
gotta love just changing gear with no syncromesh. Something about it is satisfying
Dont care what you say, the TW is still a bloody great tractor. Slow by today's standards, but it looks great, sounds great and they last forever. Big brute rules.
I think Lord Muck is on his way to remove the straight pipe :D

Can not beat the old school grunt and sound great video George keep it up
Lovely sound coming out of the ol'girl - good to hear it again! She's enjoying the job!
Great vid George - almost as good as your “gear jamming vid in the JCB 3220 from 3 years ago” Ha ha! You cannot beat a straight through exhaust!! Brilliant.
Lord muck must have given you lessons in how to change gear recently you seem to have mastered it
You cannot beat the sound of those old ford's straight piped my god such an awesome sound
A fine machine for sure you can’t beat the old double D clutch 👍
Awesome sound George, great piece of kit to own. The old S type Fodens had an Epicyclic pre selector gearbox, which were fun.
That's a proper engine sound right that! Thanks George! I still miss the Fastrac 3230 though.
Greetings from Portugal.
Still going strong and sounding great George never get tired of that, love that sound of the turbo slowing down just makes todays machinery dull on comparison for making you feel alive.

Glad it’s not just me that changes without the clutch..... it was a trick my dad taught me.

A perfect video for lord muck lol
Love the T Dub George. How far is your farthest piece of ground you own from the farm?
Good video George
I tried to explain rev-matching the same way to my friends. That Ford sounds like tank ! :-D
Is that tin foil around that pipe? I've seen that on another vid..
She can sing
Gull trailers thought they were relics, was an old 10t gull on a farm i worked on in Cambridge, you might know it Agreserves ltd?
Great Video George, I'm surprised you can take the Ford on the motorway with a top speed of 18 mph, thanks for sharing
Ooo you will have upset mucka now saying that about straight pipes 😂😂
i would use the clutch when changing gears George. pushing the clutch right to the floor activates the clutch - brake to slow the input shaft. try and be a little more patient with changing gears. when you get it right the gear will engage with very little effort and no crunch. it will feel like the gear stick will be sucked from your hand. great tractor look after her. wee had tw10 that got traded for for a Renault 155 now that was a good tractor. hows did the lego building go.
