- astIdahoNews.com and Ashley HomeStore are teaming up every week to bring you some good news during Feel Good Friday!
We want to thank people in our community with random acts of kindness and leave you feeling good.
Recently we received an email about Monte and Kim McCall. Part of it reads:
Recently the shut down resulted in kids having to do school from home on computers. Kim is a third grade teacher and could see there are many families struggling to get enough time for each child on one computer and that some homes had no computer.
Thus the idea to refurbish computers and give them to families in need came about. Monte owns Fatgeek Computers and has been able to give several computers at NO COST to families to help them out. I know the McCalls would never seek anything in return or even mention this giving so I would like to nominate them for Feel Good Friday.
We did some research and learned Monte has restored nearly 20 computers and given them away to families in need. We decided to thank him for his service and surprised him for Feel Good Friday! Watch the video above to see what happened.
If you have an idea for Feel Good Friday, email neaton@eastidahonews.com.
My husband owns a computer store up here in VT and he has done the same thing numerous times over the years, but especially now during the pandemic. I don't know how many he has fixed up and given away, but it is at least a couple dozen, and anyone needing one can contact him and he will do what he can to throw something together for them. We have a ton of older desktops and he generally buys new harddrives, loads windows onto them and gives them away, keyboard, mouse, speakers, whatever's needed. I'm proud to be married to him. I loved this clip!
This man is humble and acts as if it's no big deal... Its a Big deal Bro !!!
Cheers to you mate.
East Idaho News is the ONLY news show I watch. And I live in Central Indiana - a good 1000 miles away.
Well-deserved congratulations to Nate Eaton and the entire team for their recent national recognition for coverage of the Vallow story.
I'm in Kansas lol, I watch this more than any other news station

same and i live in iowa 🤷🏻♀️
I live in Belgium, and I just love Feel good Friday, and Secret Santa. We must help eachother. Normally, but for sure in this time👍
He said "it's not that hard" (to re-do the computers). Easy for him, hard/impossible for most of us!!!
It really isn't hard, the hardest...well rather time consuming part is installing the operating system (and if you install windows 10 the never ending long internet taxing updates)...I end up buying computers, mostly laptops and end up giving them away or reselling them. I took one down to the middle school a few years ago and gave it to them to give to a child in need...haven't done it again, but I need to start looking for some so I can do it again, but maybe in a different way. Have people submit letters as to who needs one, and why they need it type thing.
Thank you to a man that is selfless and helps so many people.,and children less fortunate..reconditioning the computers is terrific..thank you also Ashley Furniture. God Bless you all
*God Bless this Man & his family* ⚘
Why don't we have Oscars and Presidential Medals of Freedom for people like this? Small-business owner and father who gives back to his community - we literally could not wish for better citizens and fellow humans.
@@Uncle-Mike I totally agree!
We have a man in our town we call Salvage Santa as he takes old bikes and makes them new again for the kid’s who don’t have one. He does it every year for I have no idea how long. God Bless these people
Met this guy at the fair a few years back. Really decent guy.
There’s a part of me that hopes there’s an update report and the man is saying please don’t send anymore I have to many to keep up 😭❤️💞 bless him
it'll probably happen
"Its not that hard" brings tears to my eyes. He makes it look so easy. Its not. But he does it well. Good stuff.
Is there a Nate Eaton Fan Club??
Yea. its in these comments :)
@@tommyreusse3858 And our hearts.
Wish news stations where I live would do this instead of fear mongering about the virus all the time.
you can leave it at fear mongering in general im sure
I hope he got lots of donations from this!!
An excellent example of how people can make a difference in their communities. Very inspiring and selfless. 🌟

Genuine, humble and a heart of gold.....your an inspiration!!!
It's harder to find good people that do this then it is to find an old computer
What a generous service! Thank you!
I really liked this. Thank you all so much. Cheers.
Thank you for everything you do to support the children in your community ❤. Angels do walk among us.

If you appreciate the bringers of light, then who ought be valued more than someone who brings the light of education?
Great story!! Thank you
Thank you for everything to you all.
I did this a couple years ago, except it was just 1 computer. It was a very happy feeling to know I helped someone in need with something that just about everyone today needs for school work, especially now with kids being at home doing school work.
I really need to do this again.
Wow. Love stories like that!
Everywhere needs to do this!
You guys rock 🤗
Hero
💞 from 🇦🇺 Best segment ever!!!
Very cool.
Awesome!👏🏻💻👌🏻
"It's not that hard" it might not be but what you're doing is still amazing
Stunning!!
Great work!!!
Good Man !!
You are awesome
Good for you!!
I love this
Maybe they can give them out through the school district list of needs. There are many children throughout the nation who are in need of this type of help. Hopefully through you the "help In need virus" will spread to many others who are willing to help our children in this same way. 👍.
NO 'NGO.s'......
Awesome.
So nice to see no thumbs down .
Well Deserved.
Good man
I’m a fan.
We've all have to help each other out any way we can. I just gave someone one of those BBQ propane bottles with the so she can BBQ in her tiny garage and not freeze. She loves to BBQ.
big nate up and at em mad early
Nate..do you have a twin ?..we need a guy like you in Ohio..
he thought it was rob waulcheck for a sec lol
😎👍👍
Put a mask on, Nate.
I'm going to ask you which mask you better have the right answer with a comment like that? also what are the numbers in Idaho not every state needs the same precautions
There has been 70 deaths in Idaho better chance of you dying to some cause that existed pre covid than covid, gotta love math and facts right??
Tom Jones Doesn’t matter. With the lack of available testing, there are literally thousands of asymptomatic carriers who feel fine but can still infect others. Any face covering is better than nothing to keep your germs to yourself, especially in places where you can’t social distance.
@@lafondawilliams If it's made of cloth and will cover your mouth and nose it's WAY better than nothing.
And how about that death rate now?
@Nick Miller so when did you catch CoVID?
