Hello and welcome back to another behind the scenes toy photography video!
This week, I'll show you how to shoot a more detailed figure than I normally use. I call this shot: Arkham City.
I'll also show you my editing process in Photoshop.
I know this isn't technically a toy, but this Batman statuette from the Batman Arkham City Collector's Edition on the Playstation 3 was just too cool not to shoot.
My setup this week was as basic as they come. I simply placed this old packing crate in front of my background TV standing my statuette on top of it. I also hid a small humidifier back here to add a bit of atmosphere to the shot.
Lastly I positioned my background TV. I tried to make this shot really tight on the figure so that the subject would take up as much of the frame as possible. I also shot from a lower angle to give the shot some verticality.
With the scene set, I did my best to waft some of this water vapour into the shot. This humidifier is really difficult to direct, so if you know of any small fog machines I could use instead, shout it out in the comments.
Here's my starting shot. I used a higher ISO than normal to give it a bit of grain, and I used a relatively quick shutter speed so the shot was pretty dark.
My first step in my edit was to fix the background in the top corner there before doing some touch ups on the subject himself.
Next I added a levels adjustment layer to add some much needed contrast. Lastly I added a black and white filter to even out the tones and a cool photo filter to give the scene a tinge of blue.
So once again, here's my starting image. And here's where I ended up!
Thank you so much for watching.

Really enjoy your content. Thank you so much for all that you do. When doing smoke/fog I have the LENSGO Smoke S Hand-held Fog Machine (30W)
