They were on the verge of leaving the hardware business so kept the Wii as inexpensive to manufacture as possible and had their most successful system ever. It also allows their console to sell for cheaper than the playstation and xbox consoles, making it a more affordable and tempting alternative. A very interesting method of going about things but seemingly it works, for Nintendo at least.

I really do wish they would make a powerful console. I know their focus is more on creating games that are unique and creative thanks to their hardware being unique, but I dont see why they can't combine both unique creativeness and power. Just imagine the same games we already gave with 120fps or stunning graphics. Not only their own games would be even better, but more third party support. More chances for third party developers to create games using the hardware's creativeness that wouldnt appear on other consoles. The only issue would be more cost, but I still think it would be worth it

Nintendo probably won't make a new console for at least another five years the success of the wii was so huge and massive that if they just kept riding it they would have made more money than the catastrophic failure that the Wii u was, and now that they've struck gold with the switch again I'm sure they will be in no hurry to get rid of it for fear of making a bad console which is what the switch would already be if it wasn't super innovative and Nintendo programed like everyone else because the switch is one generation behind the generation that it was released alongside from a purely technical standpoint

I love my switch. It’s one of my all time favorite consoles (I’m 19 lol). Everything besides the lack of power and stickdrift is efficient. And honestly, I don’t really see the need in a whole new console. I feel like there’s more to show for the switch. I just wish they’d just make a “Switch pro” addressing these issues and I’d be beyond happy.
Here’s my opinion on the Switch models and their specifications. The regular 2017 Switch is fine with 4GB RAM and a Nvidia Tegra X1 CPU, but the Lite should have 3GB RAM, and the 2019 Switch should have 6GB RAM and a slightly faster 2.5GHz CPU, and the OLED Switch should have 8GB of RAM, and a CPU similar to a Core i3.
I mean sure they don’t focus on graphics, but the Switch is getting to the point where it can barely load their new games. Like TOTK has constant frame drops when using Master Hand or Fuse. Like I love the games Nintendo puts out, but there needs to be an upgrade and a big one. I don’t care if it’s not PS5 level, but at least let it be PS4 pro level or something. Like Nintendo needs something that can process their games and 3rd party games as well. Like sure Nintendo can somehow stuff these huge games into the Switch, but most 3rd parties don’t even try because it would cost them more money than they’d make 9\10. If the console had more power, Nintendo would get bigger 3rd party games.
And 97% of the Nintendo Switch games arent even that good. Most of them are either very boring or very bad in performance. Nintendo games are extremely overpriced. Even the console itself is very expensive because it is outdated

Xbox just happened to come out the same time and was a mystery before launch but still managed to make better looking games than the more powerful xbox

Sonic Frontiers struggles on XBox One and PS5 (and high end PC). It has lower graphics and only 30 FPS on Switch. Pop in is bad even on the newest consoles. Just saying.
Because they don't know what to do in this decade. A gimmicky portable console worked in 2017 but it won't work this decade. The future is digital stores and cloud streaming. Many companies like Valve, Epic, Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Apple are heading towards it. Nintendo is figuring out its place in this future.

Actually its because Hoyoverse, Sony and a few other competing Console developers have been fiercly going for the new age of consoles... Dive VR or Full Dive VR... MiHoYo currently still owns the most advanced machine on this field capable of treating coma patients... But its still a stretch to game while laying down... So likely the next age will bring a ready player one scenario when it comes to consoles...

Don’t need a new console in my opinion. Switch is fine as is. Currently play Doom eternal and mk11 and yes the graphics are not “amazing” it’s the fact I get to play mk and doom on the go. To be honest nintedo dose not need to come out with a new system. The one that they have ( the switch) is the system. It's not only portable one the go but it also hooks up to your TV. No what they need to do is upgrade it. To play 4 to 8k gaming as well put in a extra slot for ds games an fix some small bugs. The switch is what Xbox, Sony, an other third party gaming system want to be. A all in one gaming system. An before yall say. We'll they playstation and Xbox can play dvds . Listen…I think they are trying to figure things out a lil more. Because first things first, GTA has been around for 10-12 years now. And it’s no secret that there are mods galore for this game especially for “PC USERS”! Now the issue is cross gen play. I have no idea who started this but the entire online experience was predominantly started by Microsoft Xbox. With that said. There’s a very popular game out now. And I just got into playing it. It’s great. Started playing. And then like…..weeks later there is about a million posts about people who are cheating in this game. And being banned from it. Embarrassing. So why would you not think that these “non console players” are not doing thy same thing? Are they doof balls? Do they not get what….is being done? I deadazz say here and watched somebody cheat his azz off in this game with a blank face and disgusted with these people that confirmed this idea of “cross gen play”. Eveeeeeeerybody is tired of it and they continue to let them do this. I felt kind of a way that they should be smarter then this because it really should have not been a big deal to mix players up like this. And now we have to play with damn cheaters now. It’s defeating the purpose of everything they was trying to accomplish. And these things are probably what Nintendo is looking at.

Well, I was a Nintendo fan, until Switch came to the market. Sincerelly idk how people like it. That weird odd joysticks, no cross on controller, and the first no retrocompatible console of Nintendo since the GameCube.
Actually its because Hoyoverse, Sony and a few other competing Console developers have been fiercly going for the new age of consoles... Dive VR or Full Dive VR... MiHoYo currently still owns the most advanced machine on this field capable of treating coma patients... But its still a stretch to game while laying down... So likely the next age will bring a ready player one scenario when it comes to consoles...

Don’t need a new console in my opinion. Switch is fine as is. Currently play Doom eternal and mk11 and yes the graphics are not “amazing” it’s the fact I get to play mk and doom on the go. Fancy graphics will always be wanted by the “normies” in the gaming sphere but straight up good gameplay and fun will always be more respected. Just my opinion tho

Instead of getting mad at emulators, Nintendo should make their own supported emulator that allows games to be played on high end graphics with pcs. If they’re concerned about money just make it a subscription service or something

To be honest nintedo dose not need to come out with a new system. The one that they have ( the switch) is the system. It's not only portable one the go but it also hooks up to your TV. No what they need to do is upgrade it. To play 4 to 8k gaming as well put in a extra slot for ds games an fix some small bugs. The switch is what Xbox, Sony, an other third party gaming system want to be. A all in one gaming system.

Listen…I think they are trying to figure things out a lil more. Because first things first, GTA has been around for 10-12 years now. And it’s no secret that there are mods galore for this game especially for “PC USERS”! Now the issue is cross gen play. I have no idea who started this but the entire online experience was predominantly started by Microsoft Xbox. With that said. There’s a very popular game out now. And I just got into playing it. It’s great. Started playing. And then like…..weeks later there is about a million posts about people who are cheating in this game. And being banned from it. Embarrassing. So why would you not think that these “non console players” are not doing thy same thing? Are they doof balls? Do they not get what….is being done? I deadazz say here and watched somebody cheat his azz off in this game with a blank face and disgusted with these people that confirmed this idea of “cross gen play”. Eveeeeeeerybody is tired of it and they continue to let them do this. I felt kind of a way that they should be smarter then this because it really should have not been a big deal to mix players up like this. And now we have to play with damn cheaters now. It’s defeating the purpose of everything they was trying to accomplish. And these things are probably what Nintendo is looking at.
