This collection wasn't designed by Karl Lagerfeld, as he was under contract with Chloé. He basically ghost designed this one and the AW 1983/84 RTW collection, that was executed by his trio comprised of Eva Campocasso, Hervé Léger and Marianne Oudin. Karl's first RTW Collection for the house was for the SS 1984 season ..

Karl designed his first collection in January of 1983. Maybe he did ghost this collection but he was named creative direction before 1984

If this isn’t timeless pure Chanel I don’t know what is! Every single one of these pieces would still rock today.

Capturing a then-new interpretation of 'classic', these pieces are luxurious without ostentatiousness, although I'm not certain of the following (1) Whether they were considered to be carrying on the 'legacy' of Chanel; (2) Whether / how much that carrying on that legacy matters in fashion overall; and (3) What the overall consensus was about these styles at the time of their showing. Thank you for posting this ! (For what it's worth, I love these pieces).

I actually liked that model's walk. I was a little put off too with the singing arm action, but then I saw her face, that look of confidence, and then the hand gesture. She was great and really stood out.
