Yes, Marilyn is amazing! I've seen Jan with Nana Vasconcelos, Trilok Gurtu, and Michael DiPasqua. I hope sometime I get to see him with Marilyn. I don't care for Mane Katche.

So I wonder how many people leave similar comments about male drummers. The focus might be more on skills and talent than on the person looking as if he is in heaven?

A good percussionist does not get in the way of the music too much, that's exactly what she is doing here, accenting and keeping the groove solid... I would want no more of a drummer
Oh, would I have loved to hear this one performed by The Quartet---John Coltrane (who gets a better sound from the soprano sax), McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones---more excitement and drama. Elvin in particular is absolute dynamite on that drum set.@@kchappelle

ZITA CARNO I never liked Coltrane on the soprano. He’s great on the tenor but can’t hold it next to Garbarek.
