People complaining about a railway being built in place of a railway that used to exsist... people will literally complain about anything and shun progression because they've got nothing better to do! The one line I'd love to see put back into proper use (is currently a heritage line) would be the mid norfolk railway, being able to rejoin these lines round towards Holt would essentially recomplete what was once known as the "norfolk orbital" railway. I think with today's traffic and the large amount of people living in the areas this would be a no brainer. Unfortunately most of the track bed and bridges around Fakenham are completley gone and built on, with the only remnants being the edge of the platform and a small forgotten plaque.
So why not continue the overbridge all the way to the other embankment ? So if you use the footpath on the southern side and want to get to the eastbound platform, you have to walk down the steps on the embankment, up the steps of the footbridge then down the steps to the platform or if your in a wheelchair or pushing a pushchair walk past the station over the road bridge and in that way.
I think the embankment steps are simply emergency access. Public access to the station appears to be purely via the new station building, where a gate line will probably be. A second entrance would require card readers and, if gated, staffing. For reasons of revenue protection, reduction in crime and vandalism and construction cost, I can see why there is only one way in and out for passengers.
the line between Oxford and Bletchley is due to open to passenger trains early next year (allowing time to fit signalling and other systems, as well as training drivers on the route)- unless there are unforeseen delays I assume Winslow will open with the rest of the line
@@MercenaryPen I'm so looking forward to travelling to Oxford from Bedford by train and avoiding the long coach trip which been bugging me for some years now, Hopefully fingers cross the line reaches Cambridge. Disable guy base in North Hertfordshire.
Believe it or not, it's the Tories MP for Bedford who's trying to put his spanner in the works to try and stop Bedford to Cambridge say about the cost of the new route and the people who live along the new route it's the same old story everyone wants the railway but not near there homes😊,@@scottpeacock5492
Looks almost finished and ready for trains

Taking into account the prevailing weather in this country why is that new stations are built without covered platforms?
Ah, Buckinghamshire in the USA? I think you mean Winslow Railway Station.
Sorted...
When is it due to open??

Incredibly bland, it will date very quickly and need replacing. At least the Victorians had style and built things to last.
Only to be pull down in the 20th century by the name of Doctor Beeching.
