This ship is essentially taking a piece of Port Olisar with you no matter where you go! It may be all hand repair and refuel but, its a very powerful support and logistics platform with decent storage. It will work well for salvage support with a team of 2 vultures and a support ship, repair & rearm support with a team of 2 Vulcans and a support ship, Mining support for a team of 2 Prospectors and a 1 Expanse. A lot of folks I've talked too just see the fighter carrying capacity / transport and just write this ship off.

Same here. I’ve been working on my dual acnt setup. (Main acnt pilot seat -> alt acnt for turret firing). This ship should carry the largest Anvil fighter: the Hurricane. If it doesn’t, the it’s a design flaw. Just like the Carrak landing bay is limited to snub fighters. This is a military support ship. It should accommodate a gladius.
Hurricane is not the largest Anvil fighter, the Lightning is the current largest Anvil fighter at 26 meters then the Super Hornet --> Hornet--> Hurricane--> Arrow. It will hold 4 Hurricanes with no problem at its current metrics. The Carrack is an explorer and the Pisces is its intended snub since concept specifically designed for it it is not a design flaw just like the Connies have their snubs that were designed for them which is also not a design flaw.
@@rooster1012 actually, the Carrack is originally a military logistic ship converted in an explorer. The Carrack is much older then the P8C. This is why the Carrack landing bay being designed for the P8C makes no sense. My understanding is that the oldest small craft in the game is the Gladius. This is what the Carrack landing bay should be made for.
I've noticed a few people talking about how many ships or how much bigger of a ship can fit into carriers. And my best guess as to why CIG has the size and quantity of ships carried is because you can still get around them to fuel and maintain the ships without issues. This would also be the same for cargo. We all know you can fit more cargo than is listed but you end up blocking paths in the process. In the end it is hard to speculate with out knowing how the damage and repair will change in the future. Personally I like the ship as a base for a smaller group interested in various mission types.
Could have been an easy 10 without the pad size and fit/sit nerf, still I own one and it is one of my most anticipated ships. It is deff a ship I believe needs to be in universe before Pyro.
I have consistently been bullish on this ship. I'd love it if it could refuel/rearm, but you can manually do it, so there's that. When we get large systems that smaller ships don't have the fuel to cross, this is going to be a big deal. It's also versatile, since you can use whatever ships you and your friends have with it. You can use it for mining support, salvage support, fighter support, decent freight hauling in its own right, etc You can move lots of cargo and decent amounts of ships and vehicles. And unlike a lot of things we shoehorn into doing these things now, this ship being designed for it will make it a lot easier to do. No futzing with elevators, rotating a ship 45 degrees and "walking/hopping" it in, etc. Unless you have a LARGE fleet of ALL big ships, you can load up a good chunk of it if you decide to move somewhere. If you're in an org, you can participate with both "Colonial Fleet" traveling/moving days, as well as being a support carrier for allied fighters, or as you say, a dropship. It should make a pretty fantastic base of operations for a smaller group/org. The only issues I would see is as you say the pad size issue, and that the ship MIGHT be a bit weaker than some others to attack, depending on if the guns and shields/armor are effective enough or not. There are things I want to know as you say, but the POTENTIAL for this ship is easily an 8. I honestly feel this, not the Polaris, should have been the idea for the Militia Mobilization Initiative. Give it ONE big anti-capital weapon of some kind (maybe like the Ion's laser thing?) for anti-Vanduul combat, then combine that with its carried ships and you have the perfect militia base of operations, first responder to Vanduul incursions, and a ship that can either help evacuate the planet while the UEEN holds the line or join the UEEN to push the enemy back.
yep, I have one. going to use it as a mobile base at times, and as a trade escort so I can have fighters landed on it and keep up with the cargo ships, probably a bit of trading but mostly dedicated to ammo, missiles, repair materials and fuel. it will be all hand repair / rearm but that is fine with me, I don't think it's going to be a ship that I take into a fleet battle per say, but if a pirate group, npc or players, would attack, I think there will be time in between to be able to repair. if combat is sustained, then we had a bad route planned. that and being able to move my ships wherever I want, whenever I want, and to take contracts to do that for others will be huge. being able to use it as both a trader style ship and a base / long range transport will be great. Even if it is just to transport my gladius or F8c to an area so I can take off from it to do combat, then return to it for whatever at further ranges than my smaller ships can by themselves, and to mine out of, swapping the baskets of my prospector over and over for the 400 scu space for massive profit.
Luckily with the new cargo grid updates coming, I am sure this ship will get reworked with those implemented. So it will likely & hopefully hold whatever you can simply fit within the grid area, including larger ships.

Lots of people think that this can be used as an actual combat carrier. That's not what it's for. It's meant to get your vehicles from point A to b. Stuffing the pads it's just going to have physics dumping them off the back side of your ship when you accelerate or go to qt. Remember the current Alpha is not the game.. what works now will not work later. If you get discovered by the enemy attempting to use this as a strike ship you're going to get turned to scrap quickly buy a couple of torps. They should call it a courier instead of a carrier. Y'all just going to sink like a ferry boat in the philippines.
It depends on their definition of combat carrier. If it's able to handle it's own while the combat ships it's carrying do their thing. I think it qualifies. But no it wont be a strike ship at all.
They where very clear in the marketing that this is a logistics ship, not a combat ship. All its armaments are described as defensive. And they call it a launching point or back line support ship.
@@FreebirthBoccara yea, it won't be like the idris or kraken where you can send sortie after sortie out, it will be perfect though to get your combat ships into the area, let them loose, and then they can come back after the mission to hand repair / rearm and move to the next area. it will be longer between missions than the dedicated repair / rearm of the larger combat carriers but I think it will work fine as a bounty hunting / trade escort where your not sure how many or even if you will get into combat. Would defently want some larger ships to follow along for defense like connies and larger fighters as well that have the fuel to keep up, but a couple of light, med and heavy fighters could help quite a bit in a fleet escort battle to get the trade ships to safety.

It is definitely not meant to fight its way more defensive than anything. We agree on that completely.
With the short range of fighter craft, this thing or a larger carrier will be necessary for any combat org.
I want to land and take off from one more than own one.
The Liberator needs a med bed and the pads must support all ships of the size SMAL. If not, i will not buy it.
That tagine is sooooooo cringe.
I'm not 100% sure what a "tagine" is but I am still somehow 100% sure that you're correct!
