    I run saws for a living and watching Flair with that saw was terrifying and hilarious at the same time
    (Edit) FLAIR you need to wear your PPE at all times. No matter the size of the tree or your capabilities, get some chaps, boots and ear/eye protection. Accidents do happen

    As a landscaper watching you try to start a chainsaw makes me cringe 🤦‍♂️also nothing like notching the wrong side of the tree. And for the love of god buy some safety chaps.

    • @ryanmasin9305
      @ryanmasin9305 5 років тому +17

      From a professional arborist and a well practiced user...PLEASE watch some safety videos on chainsaw use. Drop starting a saw is very dangerous, using a saw without chaps is very dangerous, and not knowing the property way to fell a tree can be very dangerous. With all of the property you have to maintain, a set of chaps and safety helmet (with ear protection) would be a cheap investment in your safety. I think your fiancé would approve. She wants you to be around a while!

    Sometimes trees will do freak stuff like splinter I then way you were standing, so not a real good idea to stand right next to it when its falling... cut them a bit more push n run...
    Things that are on under warranty will not be I effect if somebody besides warranty approved ppl work on it, so always take to dealership before having a civilian touch it. Yes pain in a ass but worth it...and if dok g something not supposed to when things break dont tell them cuz it again wont be under warranty. Yea, it's the only way you learn is doing, asking, and listening..looking good, was a productive day. If you put a hot wire on bottom the dogs might touch it tho. If your running hot on there go get that orange construction roll and run it about a foot, or little less, from other fensethe inside of that fense for a temporary thing that way run a cpl hot on metal and dogs won't be touching it and possibly get electrocuted... good luck boys

    to cut a tree where u r not pushing on it, take a small chunk of wood out the way u want it to drop then do on other side and cut into it and it should fall that way, and please dont pull something with your bucket on your tractor, just lower the brush cutter and hook up the chain on the back side. not on 3 point arms u will brake them. also i think someone make wood splinters for your tractor.

    Love the vids!
    When you're removing trees...and you feel the need to push them over...PLEASE...for the love of God, watch out for bounce-back! Those small ones aren't quite as dangerous especially when still connected to main trunk as much as they were; however, the top of the trees are pretty light and the branches and whippy and flexible. If you watch a felled tree, it actually bounces when it crashes to the ground. Let's say you a have a stick and one end hits an object...you will feel the contact on the other end similar to the vibration you feel from a hand jarring baseball hit. That vibration energy...that force has to get released somewhere and it most easily gets sent through the other end of the tree. The trunk of the tree can and OFTEN does kick up and has injured countless of people over the years, some fatally. Even small trees like those could break bones, do internal damage or actually kill if it hit you in the head. I was super nervous when Sam kept pushing and pushing.
    Also, when you cut a wedge out of the trunk, make sure you cut it on the side of the trunk that's in the direction you want it to fall. Removing that wedge and then cutting through the rest of the trunk will allow gravity to do the job of "pushing/pulling" the tree over and allow you guys to safely remain a good 5-10 feet back from harm. I'm certainly not trying to rain on the FLAIR way of doing things. Like you said, that's why a lot of viewers are glued to the screens. But, after taking down hundreds of trees over years, I know what can happen even when you are super careful and go "by the book", and I certainly don't want anything to happen to you guys. Keep having fun, just remember to be a little bit careful! God Bless!

    So there's to much cringe worthy stuff in this video to list, but... Everyone learns some time. Kudos for getting after it, even if you have to learn as you go. That grapple is less than impressive. It's not so much that it can't pick up that little tree. The problem is the tractor has to much power for it. When the tree was still connected to the stump the tractor pulled until something gave. There's lots of aftermarket companies that sell implements including grapples. A decent grapple won't be bent by the tractor. There's a great channel called Tractor Time with Tim that will help you learn some of the basics and get information on implements and tractor care. Most of his vids are with a 1025r (the small one you saw) but it all translates.

      They regularly kill chickens. I could see them going after a small dog. They will tear up a large dog if cornered.

    Just as a safety tip, wear a hard hat when using a chainsaw. If it ever kicks back, it's very easy for it to hit you in the head and turn your face and top of your head into ground beef. Even with the kill switch. Hard hat just adds another layer of protection to prevent that from happening.

    Caution, when you push a tree over like that, the tree where it's cut can kick back at you, push it until your sure it's falling then get back, it could slip off the stump and hit you! #9milson2wheelsmatt
