Hougang Secondary School's Gamelan Ensemble performing an original piece titled 'Perjuangan' at The Republic Cultural Centre for the Singapore Youth Festival, Arts Presentation 2019.
The first all girls group from the orchestra clinched the 'Accomplishment' award for their showcase on the 16th of April 2019.
'Perjuangan' which translates to struggles or battles, depicts the challenges and difficulties faced by someone who suddenly lost a loved, father figure. While trying to recover from the shock & sorrow, he struggled and later realised he has to move on from it, go on with his life and move forward.
