The Australian Game development scene was heartbroken that this game was built overseas for a cheaper price rather than letting locals put the heart and soul and loving touch of lived experience into it that it deserved.

When it’s played in single player mode and you are playing as Bluey or Bingo and you go to “piggyback” on Mum or Dad and then you get off the camera will end up following whoever you were piggybacking on instead of the player character. You have to go to the character select screen to switch characters to fix the glitch.

2:51 Major correction - Mickey Mouse is still copyrighted. Only the version from Steamboat Willie is not - and only frames from Steamboat Willie that were not reused in future Disney projects are in the public domain.
So that part where he's whistling, is still copyrighted.

It IS copyrighted. You don't have the right to copy 99% of Mickey Mouse material out there (unless you're funded by google AdSense, then it's not piracy to profit off of substituting money with free publicity)
I really wish you people who support Fair Use wouldn't multiply. Because if YOU think Bluey r34 is "free publicity", I REALLY wish there's low chance of meeting you. But Fair Use to it's core has always been nothing but to make up laws that bind the 3rd world to labor outside of law, and then just give rich nations these exceptions AS LONG AS they also make excpetion to free trade and exchange of money. Nothing is piracy if it's just funded by the massive ad corporations and their "Fair" Use of material YOU HAVE NO RIGHT to copy.
I bet you anything that's why it was too expensive to develop Bluey in Australia. Just like it's too expensive to turn "ethical work" into a $200 tablet, so you make the poor people do it for the money you're willing to put in. You make children harvest the cocoa for your kids choccy milk, and then call this funding model of a UA-cam career ANYTHING, like capitalism.

    • @sboinkthelegday3892
      @sboinkthelegday3892 8 місяців тому +1

You know why Japan is able to have such thriving cartoonist industry, and very little r34 of kids' material (aside form absolute household names, not stuff that a kid would need to look up and get their small fandom ruined)?
BECAUSE, you're allowed to MAKE doujin, you're just not allowed to STEAL THE WORK by copying. You have to draw your own material of the source IP, that is how COPY RIGHT law works. Yours is how copyright law is broken. Excuse defenses like Fair Use instead of organizing ot actually make it NOT ILLEGAL, since Twitter artists on Patreon WANT that illegality like Al Capone's moonshine cartel.
Adults, especially 20-something women with no similar requirements to become salarymen and office ladies, are starving for that freedom of expression, so they have that outlet in their obsession with children's shows that are not even the best way to cater to THAT deviancy.

Yoshi’s Crafted World is a good game for young children to play. Mellow Mode makes it much more forgiving but they still learn the basics of platforming, an essential skill for budding videogame players. It helps that everything is made from crafting materials that they recognise too.

A bit of video editing advice for the future if you want to apply it, but I find it's nice that when speaking on something in a review, it's nice to have the footage of what you're talking about on screen alongside your words. Like when you're talking about the kick button, you can show a quick clip of the characters doing the action, or when you provided the anecdote about a character falling out of bounds, you could show that, or if it's too hard to recreate you could provide footage of some other funny glitch. Etc. you don't have to use this advice if you don't want to, it's your videos after all, I just find it's a good way to make your message clearer.

As a Bluey fan, I WAS excited to play the game, but at the same time knew to wait for reviews to come out first. I'm glad I didn't buy a copy of the game at full price, because reviews showed it wasn't true to the TV series.
For me, it alao happened that a physical copy of Super Mario Bros Wonder came up on Lazada's LazFlash (flash sales) during their Singles Day sale at the time and I snapped that up instead. I'm glad I did.
(1:09) Knew it! I made a similar comparison too, as I could tell from reviews that Outright Games picked up the Bluey licence themselves and likely proceeded to bribe a third-party game development studio into making the actual game for them by a deadline. Ugh!
(1:45) Argh! I feel seen! (Yes, Splatoon 3 is the current most played game on my Nintendo account, and I don't regret pre-ordering my copy of the game to enjoy all of those updates and in-game events!) (also assuming that the narrator's mention of 300 hours refers to having played since launch like I did) (I later realise that I have a lot of other Switch games I haven't played yet!) (yes I'm excited to play Side Order when that gets released!)
(2:35) I somehow didn't expect to see the Switch parental controls having been enabled, but to be fair, I'm only 1 of 2 people in my family who play on games consoles and we both have our own Switch consoles.
(3:10) "…trying to wean her daughter off of Splatoon" WHAT?!?!?!?! 🐙😳 (and then I start to realise what the narrator was trying to convey, as I have a number of other Switch games I haven't played!)
Also, the mention of the Bluey game being a couch co-op game reminded me of when I imagined what a Bluey game could've been like back in early 2023 before the actual game was announced and subsequently released. What I imagined was an open-world RPG or adventure game that would also be entirely 2D to stay true to the art style of the TV series while allowing players to explore a decently sized or significant portion of Brisbane.
(4:38) That mid-air position was probably some sort of zero coordinate or central point in Unity, the game engine the developers used.
(8:04) I agree!!! I lost track of how many fiction TV and/or book series I had developed obsessions with, but Bluey is the current TV show I'm obsessed with to the point where I had been working on a fan-fiction as a side project.
(9:41) At that point, I start to wonder if there are any Bluey fan-fictions that are safe for children to read and that feel like canonical Bluey episodes themselves.

But this game was a major letdown, especially at the $40 price point. I bought it for the hype… clearly, just based on price, I’d have been better waiting. But very disappointed, especially with all the glitches we had. Like picking up the DANG pavlova off the bookshelf! Who thought that was a good idea?!?!

Btw, not that it’s useful or highly important, but you can kick the soccer ball (sorry, football) in the side yard into the goal for a PlayStation achievement… or maybe thrice for a hat trick? Can’t remember.

This review is the video game equivalent of Roger Ebert's entire "Hated, hated, hated, hated this movie" review of North.
This was a masterpiece of words, and BretonStripes saying them was the cherry on this cake.

  • @andocoolxd5158

TBH, the cutaways were the best part of the game, they felt with the same heart and soul of the actual series and that's probably the only aspect in which Ludo actually manifested, it's quite clear; seems the problem was the developer, they wanted to do a Bluey game without knowing how a game actually works...
Then again, I wouldn't say it's terrible... Overpricey sure, but it's still a simple and fun experience for the kiddos, wouldn't say it's astonishing but not horrendous either, just fine.
I heard some early versions were the ones that had the worst lagging, maybe you just had a glitched copy, sorry for that.
Love how by the end of the review it became one for the show itself, being the masterpiece it is.

Honestly it would of been better if an Australian game studio developed it and maybe let kids make there own pup like your pups family moved to Bluey's town or something like that and from there you can spend time with the bluey and her family and the various other characters within the show
That would make a better game then whatever this game is/was in my honest opinion

Just never ever pre-order a game. The gaming industry has evolved from passionate devs putting blood, sweat & tears into their creations, to big corpo CEO's trying to get as much money with as little resources as possible. This has affected the quality of games significantly in the past decade. Always wait for the reviews from non-sponsored experts, then buy the game if it still sounds promising.

My 6 year old daughter LOVES this glitchy little game. There’s only a few bad glitches we have found. There’s a glitch that makes the Y button unusable even when the icon appears. There’s also the “Piggyback Glitch” where the camera will get stuck on Mum or Dad after you piggyback on them as Bluey or Bingo which can be fixed by pressing the + button on the Switch version and changing the character you’re playing as. We have had more issues with the camera than anything else. There is also this weird glitch where when you’re at the “Ground Is Lava” tutorial and you’re rescuing Muffin you can glitch the landing to Muffin by hopping with the “ow” animation even though it’s supposed to take you back to the previous platform.
The pavlova on the lamp post in the park area can be got either using the nearby seesaw or using piggyback for those having trouble with it.
Also while glitchy it’s not unplayable. It’s been 100% on two different Switch devices and one of them has never been updated so no patch. Also the unpatched one seems to run better which is odd.
Edit: my opinion is that the game is unfinished. I don’t think it’s that bad. It’s just rushed and it shows in how short it is. I hate how glitchy it can be. But there are some redeeming things that the game has in its favor like seeing the inside of the house and just messing around with it. I liked seeing the fairy garden from Barky Boats and the tent from Camping in the creek area.
My recommendation is buy it when it drops half price. It’s not a $40 game. $20 or less is ideal.

game expos now have to struggle with young-ADULT consumers expecting EVERY display to be a touchscreen device with a mobile-device-UI, or to be absolutely inaccessible to many, who never even once used a console controller, and where mouse/keyboard is as ancient as 70s retro science fiction.

I mean… It’s made by outright. I bought the game for myself and finished it in 2 days…WITH COLLECTIBLES ALL FOUND! Outright Games has never had a good reputation. They made buggy games like paw patrol on a roll, Race with Ryan, and the dinosaurs Games. It’s really short, but never really had a problem with the bugs, and usually just laughed it off, but I could see how this impacts families. Never played it with family, but played with friends. I’d give it a 6/10.

As a kid i played and enjoyed so many bad games, not realising that they might be unfair and stuff. But then it was around 2007-2009, the period of Russian market being flooded with really bad cheap games. Still not having a concept of game being bad, i bought CD in a store and played it... I couldn't grasp what's happening. Game wasn't difficult, i wasn't bad at it, yet i sucked. I didn't realize it at that time, but i felt "This game is badly made" emotion.

MLP Gen 4 built the foundation of giving kids and and bit of adults a show and showing how successful aiming for both can be. But yeah, Bluey built the skyscraper on that foundation and pushed for both instead of MLP that was for sure both but mainly still for kids, just like this yt says it might be the best show to date for familys alike ever, not sure if we will see something alike this again. What only makes it even more shameful this game is pretty bad yet other little games of bluey are pretty great.

Why would you want to ween your daughter off splatoon? Its such a good game. The graphics are amazing. The music is always a bop. The characters are so well written if you go into detail on them. The lore, if you look for it, is very good.
The splatfests are fun as long as one finds the right crowd.
Heck. Why not show her you support her Splatoon interest and buy her an artbook?
Idk. There just doesn't seem to be any good reason to ween a kid off a game meant for them and appeals to many people for a GOOD reason.
Its one of those games that gets BETTER as you get older because she'll start noticing bits and pieces she didn't notice before.

My dear, I believe the word you are looking for is “shovelware”.
Any game that is haphazardly put together and shoveled out so that unsuspecting buyers will take it on name recognition alone has been going on forever.
Outright games (the studio that made this game) are a shovelware company. Just look at all the half-assed paw patrol, Bratz and other stuff they put out. Clearly a company to stay away from in the future.
