Recycler and Executive Card are stupid strong for setting up god runs. Some of the most cracked runs I've had was when I had access to both at the same time with Retool Mul-T.
I want to improve my loader movement so I'm basically watching your loader videos just observing the way you grapple and the angles you immediately take once it hooks
the answer is more than grappling angles, it's in the subtleties of mid grapple strafe, keeping sprint active, and using immediate pylon grapples for speed boosts. Practice with gaining as much momentum as possible and translating that into speed, then work on getting certain angles down, good luck
Ey another loader video! Honestly, I've been watching a lot of your runs on youtube as of late. I've improved a lot at the game as a result. Example? I started using mercs alternate skills. I used to try and stay as invulnerable as possible and use my skills to play in the middle of everything. It works but the damage feels meh and one mistake means you die. On account of being in the clustertruck of baddies you'd ussually strafe around on other characters. Alternate merc skills allow you to yeet bosses a little more, and allow you to stay further back. Also, if you use the 123- dash combo, and then your r, with enough baddies you can just keep going back and fourth. its led to a lot of successful and fun runs on merc. Also I used base kit merc because thats what I did in ror1. I used the immunity to stay alive.
also is it weird that I actually enjoy the hunter harpoons? the burst of speed when strafing on handy or commando is really welcome Or even on acrid as things melt and explode.
I'm not a big fan of loader's alt secondary and special but the alt punch is cool, you can do very similar things to the default punch but timing when to start charging it and when to start sprinting is completely different so once you get used to one the other feels really awkward. I used to only use the alt punch because I had muscle memory for it and default felt weird but now that I've used it more often I think they're both great.
Is there any reason to take the default grapple over spiked gauntlet? I’ve been using the alt kit for a really long time but I’m wondering if I should give the default another shot
@@Moonstruck_Arrow To be honest I just like loader's mobility, the faster you are the higher your punch damage is and it's so much more satisfying to swing into a group of wisps with the punch than it is to kill them one at a time with the alt grapple imo. They're both extremely good but the default encourages more mobility whereas the alt sacrifices that for a bit of extra damage. It's also worth noting that sometimes the alt grapple can steal band procs from your punch if you have proc items like ATG that can increase its damage to above the requirement It's definitely worth experimenting with different loadouts to see what you prefer but expect the default abilities to feel awkward until you get used to them
I typically don't give a damn about the balance of RoR nor it's sequel because they never were balanced to begin with but even I understand the pain of looking for good item mods only for it to be one with like handful of items at most and they're all designed powerfully which is fine especially with such a massive item pool in the base game but damn, you know? Certainly helps that quite a few have the ability to turn off specific items in the config file at least and even better ones will outright let you tamper with the values of what they do, mod the mod is all I'm saying more or less :b Edit: That mod that changes the terrain to look like different places is real cool, same goes for that Umbra Mithrix, doesn't improve his fight too much but there's only so much you can actually do with that dingus.
12:39 Race giving some sage advice: "Until you throw yourself in the fire you'll never know how hot it is :)" *Proceeds to absolutely DRILL a Solus Control Unit*
Spleen is good but requires 1- crit , 2- bleed and 3- decent attack speed to truly make the best use of it. Plus; the best part of spleen is the AOE on kill, which is useless for mithrix. Atleast merf is like an extra semi-ATG that gives a 10% chance to do some damage.
Because loader needs some form of AoE, pylon is just a wisp killer early game and after that just an anchor for your grapple, shatterspleen requires you 1. Have a good crit %, crit’s really good on Loader, but high crit isn’t guaranteed in an eclipse run 2. Hit an enemy several times to stack bleed, this is a no brainer, loader isn’t really bent on getting tons of hits. 3. Merf makes pylon viable, throw it into a crowd and the merf proccs go crazy, spleen just doesn’t do that. And also spleen isn’t really all that useful just for the aoe, it’s more for the single target damage of a billion bleed on one enemy.
7:06 Tbf, back then, you *did* need to go fast to win. Pre-Recycler, pre-Scrappers, pre-Executive Card and Tricorn, and most items just sucked, so you wanted to GTFO of every stage ASAP. Preon Accumulator was a top tier equipment, and you needed to reach Stage 3 sub 10 minutes to get that too.
Yeah if anything with the addition of so many non damage greens and whites since launch it’s only technically gotten “harder” if anything. I think players just got better since then and looking back it’s easy to mistake “game hard” and “I was new”
I can tell why you decided to stop playing starstorm. The balance was pretty alright, aside from that one legendary that kept giving you legendaries every time you leveled up.

What mod do u use to get the cool maps
My man gets over 5 recyclers a run while I'm stuck with a pile of hunter's harpoons.
Yeah well at least you guys get the dlc, I just want it on console so I can play rg
At least you don’t consistently get stuck with 9 infusions and not one scrapper in 3 loops.
Be grateful im still stuck on the no dlc version of the game

I believe there was also the issue that the enemy levels couldn't cap, so they'd get infinitely strong instead of just stopping at x99
