I suspect David's museum is about to get a lot bigger, as the late Ken Klosterman's _Salon de Magie_ has just gone to auction.

The first thing someone should have said is...WHERE is it(?!)

Very sad to hear that David Copperfield has this wonderful warehouse filled with props of very famous Magicians that he hoards to himself ,and for what reason? to walk through it alone saying "Mine, all MINE!" ?? Does it not seem right to share these beautiful artifacts that should be in a museum of Magic with people that would love to have the chance to see these props in person that they have only read about them in books all their lives? This kinda makes me not want to pay to see him anymore, and besides that, these items were initially and intentionally designed to be enjoyed by the public? If he is concerned about "its a warehouse filled with secrets" maybe he could have security barriers and guided tours ( I'm sure he could figure it out ) Members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians , The Society of American Magicians , Magician members of The Magic Castle, The Magic Circle and such are people that have proven themselves as worthy of being allowed entry to see and enjoy the beautiful props of their art. He is kind of coming off like "look what I have, and you can't see it ". I think it would be wonderful if he could find it in his heart to share these item with others that share the love of magic. I mean how much more money do you need from the public without wanting to give something back?? The VERY small tours that he does grant of the warehouse is only to his personal friends, and for only people that can help and benefit his career. Maybe it would be nice if he could think back, before all the millions came, on what it was like to have been amazed by a beautiful prop ,or what you might have only had a chance to read about, and after all, it's the fans of Magic that have helped him along the way. Give a little something back to the art David. Sharing is the right thing to do. You could even charge people and that way after time you will recoup some of the expenses down the line. Sounds like a win win situation if you ask me.

I don't agree. I believe he keeps it private because not only does it have the secrets, but there are some incredibly rare and special artefacts that he has collected for decades since he started out, including a lot of his props from his own illusions that I think he wants to protect and value.
It's nothing to do with keeping it for himself and being selfish really, plus even if it is, he has spent a lot of money on it and preserving it.
As much as I would adore to go there, I am happy he keeps it private and I'm sure one day it will all be on show for people to see. I hope his daughter will protect it.
He has the right to do what he wants and I actually don't think most people would really appreciate it and would see it as 'another museum' to those who don't care about the history.
