“Eli cut her off saying…if she believes that I’m better than her then she should evaluate her own insecurities and work on that.” HOLY GUACAMOLE THAT IS THE CALMEST BURN IVE EVER READ 😮
Story 1: "I can't understand why he's not marrying me!" - Woman who just broke up with his best friend, six months ago. Gee, no clue why this guy didn't figure out you were into him.
And then c**p talking OP "She thinks she's so much better than me" "You two won't last" Eli just put his foot down in front of both families, what more proof do you need that they'll last?
So refreshing to see a SO that doesn't screw around and is 100% supportive of his future wife. The way he basically said support our marriage or scram was so satisfying.
Story sounds like the telenovelas my late grandma loved to watch, right down to the car crash B plot. It was great to hear how decisive and in charge Eli was.
Kami wants to make OP the villain by saying she has an evil plan to divide the family/friendship. That Ava is disloyal. That Eli is a fool for choosing OP. She wants to blame everyone else instead of facing the truth that Eli doesn’t want to be with her and never has. It is painful when you want to be with someone who doesn’t want to be with you in return, and Kami refuses to acknowledge this simple fact. She is pushing the fault of her unrequited love onto everyone else so she doesn’t have to feel that rejection.
OP's got herself a good one. Eli didn’t take any shit from his friend and made it known that OP is the one he loves and chose and if anyone doesn't like it then the door is right there. I wish the best for OP and Eli also hope her brother's recovery is swift so he can get back to pkaying basketball
Love the moment when he called her out in front of the families. Don't know why he asked Kami "Why did you say it at the bachelorette party?" I can guess Kami was drunk of her a**, drunk words, sober thoughts.
Honestly I was starting to feel bad for Kami but as I got deeper into the story, I said 'Nope' She was just downright nasty and jealous. Seriously, to do that at someone's bachelorette was tasteless even going to the groom's sister of all people as well. Then to get nasty and upset when confronted by the one person she head over heels for, and take it out on those who saw what she did and said wrong. God, this woman is the true insecure and jealous one. And to top it off, she literally wasted her ex bf time if she actually never felt anything for him at all, when he could have been with someone that actually love and cared about him. I dont blame nor am I against the groom's choice in disinviting those who dont support the relationship and marriage since a wedding is ONLY for those who ACTUALLY support the union. (Op got one hell of a good man. 100/10)
I never felt bad for Kami, her way of dealing with her feelings is to date someone else and drop hints instead of being straightforward with Eli "I dropped hints" probably believing it's the man's place to make the first move.
It’s insane how delusional the “friend” was even after getting called out by Eli she still thought she was in the right she isn’t just a clown she’s the entire circus
NTA - Honestly, with how this girl reacted after she was flat-out rejected by OP’s fiancé, she had it coming to her. She needs to accept that her fantasy is never gonna happen and grow up and move on. This ain’t a fairy tale.
I think the moms shouldn't have joked about it in the first place because she seems to think that them getting together was always going to happen because the families wanted it.
"Kami, you are no longer invited. I do not want you causing a scene because I was never going to marry you. I am doing this for me and my future wife."
Nah, a lot of people are selfish, self-centered a-holes, but not everyone. My husband used to go fishing with his best friend for several days at a time. They would either camp where they were fishing, or sleep at his buddy's place, since his place was closer to a lot of the fishing spots they went to, and we didn't have room to park his boat. My hubby would call me so we could chat before he went to bed. I stayed home and played Xbox and PlayStation, lol. Neither of us ever cheated. We never wanted to. Did we find other people attractive? Sure. Did we get hit on by other people throughout the years? We sure did, especially after I lost a lot of weight and got a makeover (developed chronic health conditions, and volunteered to be my sis's friend's beauty college 'final project' since I have long "virgin" hair) but we were committed to each other and our relationship. We didn't have a perfect marriage (we're both stubborn, lol), but we had a good one. He died from an unexpected illness February, 2023. I still miss him every day. We would have celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in April, 2023. You just hear more about the stupid twats who go around sleeping with everyone other than their spouses than you do about the people who have happy, successful relationships, because happy relationships usually don't have ridiculous, attention-grabbing drama every other week. Good, loyal people are still out there, but they can be really difficult to find.
Plus, why isn’t he writing up the other employees who are calling off consistently on the night shift? If your boss allows employees to abuse the system without consequences, it is going to continue!
Elijah is an amazing fiancée and soon to be husband. He could not have handled this situation better. He sounds extremely supportive and it's so cool that OP has such a trustworthy partner who can be relied on for anything. Even I wanna marry this dude now lol
Alcohol is like a truth serum, all our thoughts come rushing out when we get to a certain level. So NTA being drunk is not an excuse, get rid of the potential bombing run she could do if she gets drunk again and goes for it all. He chose you and she can’t handle the fact her back up man is moving on with someone not her.
his not even her backup man. Many Men need a country sized hint or plain talk to get to know a girls feelings, specially when they are friends for so long. She missed her years of chances and now just lashes out.
Exactly, when the Fiance asked "Why did you bring it up at the bachelorette?" My mind went to "She was probably drunk off her a** and would do the same at the wedding."
Story 1: 'Alcohol reveals the truth of who you are.' Looks like the ex-best friend had her mask ripped off. Also OPs fiance is a real keeper. Hope they have a great life together. ❤
s1: NTA. kami likely only dated antonio to get closer to fiancé, and when her passive plan didn't work out, she broke it off. she's definitely going to try and make fiancé choose near or during the wedding, which is a point of stress neither he nor OP need. OP should notify fiancé and see what he says - his reaction can make or break the relationship. update: yeah, see? you hold on tight, OP, that one's a keeper. many would commit serious crimes to have someone like that wearing their ring and having their back. as for kami and her family - good riddance. enjoy a happy life with the people who love you, OP.
I can’t stand when parents joke in front of their kids about matchmaking. This is the result. Cammie is completely at fault for her behavior, but she needs therapy thanks to the mothers in this story.
Ya it's quite clear to me base on the update, she was the golden child. If her brother hated this from the start, I can already imagine what his life is with her as a sister.
Story 1 - Cammy had her chance. She sat on it, never made her move, now it's too late. I hate it when people treat others like they're a romantic "eventuality," like a champagne bottle they're saving for the right occasion, and then get upset when that person doesn't stay sitting on their shelf waiting for them.
Story 1 is told in such a weird way...why wouldn't the initial post include all the info from the bachelorette party night? Why stop the story in the middle of the night, then start the update from that point, when the initial post was written the next day. And, since the update was written after reading the comments, OP writes things rhat happened before the initial post as though the actions were taken with the context of reddit comments in mind? Just weird...
Damn, while the OP handled this like a champ, that boyfriend making a giant unnecessary scene in front of the giant collective shared families is insane
Sooo…Op’s fiancée: immediately supports her, is whilling to cut off a lifelong friend for disrespecting her and publicly stands up for her against a toxic family friend… Op if you don’t marry him i might😂😂
And the employees who are consistently calling out on night shift. If there are supposed to be 2 employees in the building at all times, why hasn’t he addressed that issue too? Usually companies say 2 employees because if one gets hurt, there is someone else there to call for help.
Story 1: If Cami was so smitten by Eli, she could have been more open about it, a lot sooner in their lives. She was following the "man must take the initiative" script, and it didn't get her what she wanted. It's not at all clear that they would have worked out, even if she'd taken more initiative and been perfectly clear with Eli that she was very attracted to him, but at least she would have understood that she wasn't going forward with him because of him, not because of OP.
Kami was dating Antonio just waiting for OP and Eli to break up. If they had, Kami would have dumped Antonio like a sack of spuds to be there to “pick up the pieces” with Eli. Either that, or she didn’t want Eli until some other girl had him. Either way, NTA.
I am a firm believer that men and wOmen can't be friends and be in a relationship. Due to this reason. Most have hidden feelings for their friends and will create problems if the opportunity arises. I learned that through experience with both sides of the spectrum.
Story 1: (NTA) If this best friend confessed her love for the groom and he still wants her at the wedding, he's asking for drama. You and your partner need to be on the same page. Drunk words, sober thoughts. Also, I have to wonder did Cammy ever try to get with Fiance or was she waiting for the man to make the first move? And I have to wonder if Fiance's family want him to be with Cammy instead of OP. Update: So OP confronted SIL and SIL wanted to tell Fiance but OP wanted to man up and do it herself. So Fiance was on OP's side for a few reasons, good. Good luck with getting a confession while sober. That talk with Antonio, geez. Why did she tell SIL her true feelings at the party? She was probably black-out drunk. Giving hints, ha! "Wouldn't make any problems for us" sure, while sober. And he started s**t talking OP, real mature. Fiance put his foot down in front of the families, GOOD! "Kick her out of the family" her own family? Dumb b**ch.
1) Sounds like his female friend wanted to get close with OP only to stay close to her now fiance. NTA. Considering how disingenuous she has been to her own boyfriend, OP and her fiance, and her designs on OP's partner, she should be uninvited and cut out of their lives, but I believe first this obviously needs to be run by the fiance and he should be in agreement, if not, this is a problem and OP should reconsider their relationship. It needs to be a mutual disinvite. After update: It's good OP remained calm and continued to listen and it's nice the other person said what she did. It's too bad the mom's pushed for their kids to get together, but it's nice to know there was nothing in the past between them and he was never into her. OP is correct in expressing that she thinks only those happy and supportive of the couple should attend the wedding. After next update: Good for OP and her fiance's friend recognizing something was off with his girlfriend and why his relationship needed to end. It's good OP's fiance told this other girl how her behavior was inappropriate and she was no longer welcome at their wedding. She really showed how delusional and two-faced she was. Awkward to have to go to a Thanksgiving get together with this other girl there. Good for OP's fiance for making the announcement he did and not allowing himself to be guilted for his stance. It's good she is now blocked from their lives. 2) Good for the MC.
It’s not unusual for one longtime friend to be in love with another. If you had not heard her confessing to the sister, who is one of her confidence, you would never know. And honestly, yes, tell your fiancé, but don’t worry about it. If in all this time, she’s never done anything to get between the two of you, she probably won’t. I myself at one point had a crush on the fiancé of my best friend. But I’ve never did anything, and I got over it. They’ve been married for decades and so have I with no regrets. Don’t let something you ease drop on a drunken evening ruin a long time friendship Edit: the stuff in the rest of the story, Yikes! That isn’t the same as what I meant.
OP: Kami wanted to be best friends with me, right away. I overheard her saying she’s in love with Levi and that it should be her marrying Levi, not me and why would Levi want to be with someone like me? Me: From the VERY moment they met… DUUUUUUUH! 🙄
1: you know I wasn’t going to blame Kami too much because she can’t help her feelings and she told Ava about it in private without intending for anyone to know about it, but she lost me when she started comparing herself against OP and talking down to her, and then started insulting OP when she was confronted both privately and in the whole group. She needs some help but that can be done away from OP and Eli
thank glob that Eli's mom didn't have that obsession of being "related" to Kami's mom anymore cause the story could probably be longer if Eli's mom really wanted to be "related" to Kami's mom.
The fact that the other family was going so hard for something so wrong, is scary. Your daughter was at a "friends" bachelorette party, whining about how it "should've been me," then you have the nerve to make Eli and the fiance the villain? That entire family, minus the little brother, plus Eli's mom had a plan. It just didn't go the way they thought it would and that's why she's that psychotic. 🤣
Just upon a FIRST meeting & she wants to be "besties" with OP... yea that's a giant ass red flag. Her crying to the fiancé's sister "it was supposed to be ME" GIRL, you've known the guy for YEARS & never made a move & just EXPECTED him to know? How stupid can you be? Also bad mouthing OP by saying "I don't understand why he would want to be with someone like her" Yeaaa I'd disinvite her too. After Update: Ahhh so it was the mother's planting the seeds & Kami just ran with it fully expecting Elijah to be with her because their moms "deemed it so" 🙄 After Update: CALLED IT!! She literally just expected him to be with her. AND he's a DUDE, most guys don't get the hints. You have to outright tell them! And of course once Eli says that they want people at the wedding who live & support them both the switch flipped & her true colors came out. Lmfao! I'm sorry but Kami's mom calling the fiancé "tasteless" for uninviting Kami & them defending her for what she said was, in fact, tasteless. Kami's text about how Eli & Ava weren't "loyal" is just hilarious.
This feels fake. Or after the first event nothing interesting happened and op made up the updates. Also the beginning feels really dramatic? Like the gbf was completely fine for years and privatly cried away from the party in a way that brought no attention to herself and op really overreacted by wanting to ban her for *checks notes* having regrets. But in the updates she is actually super possessive and nice girl like so op isnt over reacting. Yeah....
@HeliosX28 I guess "girl best friends" are going to be the next target of fake stories. I do tend to find fake stories tend to follow a pattern of targeting groups depending on either what is popular or who people have beef with so I guess they are a logical choice.
Agree and she truly wanted to be his girlfriend when they were 14-17 she would have made a move back then but she didn’t until he was slipping away from her
@@joimumuthe way Kami’s mom reacted was a big red flag! She’s probably encouraging her daughter’s delusions. Italy is perfect spot for a declaration of unrequited love 😂.
Story 1: While I agree with the result, I couldn't help but be uncomfortable with how OP and Eli went about it. A big confrontation may feel satisfying to OP, but I can't help think that things could have been handled in a way that didn't nuke familial relationships or force people to 'take sides'. Everybody (except Kami) seemed to do the right thing in the wrong way to inflict maximum embarrassment. I'm not persuaded that was necessary.
Honestly, I think he was waiting for a reason to completely cut her out. I Know what it's like to be pushed towards somebody when they're family friends. It gets really old. You put up with it until something like this happens and it gives you the ultimate excuse you ever needed to cut out people.
Story 1: Too many women aren't used to having to take the intiative w romance but OP did and it paid off. Age gap is pretty weird though since they met when she was 19. Wouldn't be surprised if OP only said they met at 19 to make it less creepy.
I know I am gonna get roasted, but I just feel like to much drama for no damn reason. Up until OP overheard in the bathroom, she had zero idea that this lady had feelings for her fiance. Which tells me this lady stayed in her lane. This lady didn't cause issues at the party by making a scene infront of everyone. She didn't confess to OP. She didn't even lounge at OP snatching her wig off her head. She had a moment of full realization and broke down, confiding in a long-time friend. If OP never overheard, do you all really think thus lady would show up at the wedding wearing white confessing her love infront of everyone? I don't think so. Was it really necessary for the fiance to out his family friend infront of everyone? Was it really necessary for OP to tell her fiance after speaking with the sister? OP and her fiance acted like immature teens over dramatizing things. I go with OP is the AH.
yeah kami was out of line, but they were lowkey doing a bit much. it wasn't like she announced her love for him in front of the whole party, she was having what she thought was a private conversation. if op didn't hear her, everything would have blew over and kami would have faded into the background or eventually became okay with their relationship. sure, don't invite her, but stop acting like she was going around telling the whole world it should have been her, it was only one person while drunk in what she thought was in private.
Story 1, really poorly handled. If he was her friend he could have been kinder. OP is quite a drama queen Cami needs better friends, there was absolutely no need for all this drama. And then she says she’s happy and secure 😂😂😂 🤦🏻♀️
I can't believe how petty these people are. Do they monitor EVERY aspect and every conversation within their circles? I hope no one sneezes at the wedding, they will probably be escorted out at gun point.
NTA but never get into a relationship with someone who has a best friend of the opposite gender. Because both of them will tell you that they’re just friends, they’re just like brother and sister, there’s nothing between us. We grew up together, etc. etc. etc. But the fact is at least one of them is lying. OP was fortunate to find out which one was lying prior to the wedding.
“Eli cut her off saying…if she believes that I’m better than her then she should evaluate her own insecurities and work on that.”
HOLY GUACAMOLE THAT IS THE CALMEST BURN IVE EVER READ 😮
I received second degree burns from that comment!
Finally a partner who is willing to do the right thing without having to be convinced or reach some type of compromise.
Agree and Hallmark movie romance is fine in movies but not in real life

Dumb b**ch.
I think story 1 was handled about as well as it could be.
The fact the now ex former friend family supports her delusions
Resentment even more than hate can twist someone into something unrecognizable.
Thankfully, the fiancé did the right thing throughout.
Don’t let something you ease drop on a drunken evening ruin a long time friendship
Edit: the stuff in the rest of the story, Yikes! That isn’t the same as what I meant.
Story 1 doesn’t sound real. Why would the update be in the middle of the main story? Sounds like ChatGPT wrote it.
Op she is jealous and trying to understand why would just be a waste of time your fiancé obviously loves you and really isn't that all that matters
OP:
Kami wanted to be best friends with me, right away.
I overheard her saying she’s in love with Levi and that it should be her marrying Levi, not me and why would Levi want to be with someone like me?
Me:
From the VERY moment they met…
DUUUUUUUH!
If Sam is the one constantly late, I know who should be getting fired. Sam is the one leaving the place unattended.
thank glob that Eli's mom didn't have that obsession of being "related" to Kami's mom anymore cause the story could probably be longer if Eli's mom really wanted to be "related" to Kami's mom.
ELI is no-nonsense, good man
Woof Kami is the textbook definition of main character syndrome if I’ve ever heard
Honestly sound like a good situation to marry into. Her finacee supported her along with the fiancee family. She doesn't even have to make an ultamium
After Update: Ahhh so it was the mother's planting the seeds & Kami just ran with it fully expecting Elijah to be with her because their moms "deemed it so" 🙄
After Update: CALLED IT!!
Yeah....
I'm glad there's other comments thinking like this... This had a soap opera feel to it
@HeliosX28 I guess "girl best friends" are going to be the next target of fake stories.
I do tend to find fake stories tend to follow a pattern of targeting groups depending on either what is popular or who people have beef with so I guess they are a logical choice.
I think Kami watches too many romantic comedies and hallmark movies. I doubt she actually likes/loves Elijah, he was just her backup man.
Why do people post such dumbass questions that are obvious??
Story 1: While I agree with the result, I couldn't help but be uncomfortable with how OP and Eli went about it. A big confrontation may feel satisfying to OP, but I can't help think that things could have been handled in a way that didn't nuke familial relationships or force people to 'take sides'. Everybody (except Kami) seemed to do the right thing in the wrong way to inflict maximum embarrassment. I'm not persuaded that was necessary.
Tyvm LG stay safe please, peace.🎉
Honestly, I think he was waiting for a reason to completely cut her out. I Know what it's like to be pushed towards somebody when they're family friends. It gets really old. You put up with it until something like this happens and it gives you the ultimate excuse you ever needed to cut out people.
Honestly this was giving the story about Jake and OP vibes. I felt so bad for Jake and his fiancee alongside OP and hers. Yeesh.
Wait!, Why start the update with what was left out from the first post, and has already happened?.
Obviously nta, though the fiance making a public scene at a holiday get together was... probably unneccesary.
Honestly she should have been petty and sent a pic of them kissing. Saying Later boo then blocked
Omg could someone blow anything more out of proportion . So a drunken admission of love turns into a whole soap opera. NOTHING happened.
Not really but I would let him know what she said
Story 1: A man, a man, a ma-a-a-an.
I wish i was rich
Kami, major L. Just a life of Ls.
Must be nice to have these sort of problems. Two hot girls in love with you.
yeah kami was out of line, but they were lowkey doing a bit much. it wasn't like she announced her love for him in front of the whole party, she was having what she thought was a private conversation. if op didn't hear her, everything would have blew over and kami would have faded into the background or eventually became okay with their relationship. sure, don't invite her, but stop acting like she was going around telling the whole world it should have been her, it was only one person while drunk in what she thought was in private.
13:42 no, no, cami might be onto something. The entire post smacks of OP being stuck up
ROFL OP isn't the one whining to someone that a man she has a crush on is with another woman. Cami's the one who's stuck up.
@@gwdzeethey’re reaching
Story 1, really poorly handled. If he was her friend he could have been kinder. OP is quite a drama queen
Cami needs better friends, there was absolutely no need for all this drama. And then she says she’s happy and secure 😂😂😂 🤦🏻♀️
The fiance blowed everything out of proportion. It’s so good to be supportive but having class and dignity is just as important.
Yes first!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤😊
Anytime someone says "Trip to Belize" or Belize in general, I think of Breaking Bad and its implications there.
1:52 i cant imagine not wanting more friends. Sounds stuck up
