    I agree with you. Of course it's not the best pizza oven in the world but I bought it to avoid using the kitchen oven, a normal European standard oven, not huge but normal, for ordinary people, like me. But this small oven is faster, consumes less electricity and reaches a higher temperature, heats above and below with refractory stone underneath, all features that reasonably simulate the traditional brick wood ovens of the true tradition. It cooks the pizzas that you find in Italy and that you find already prepared by the baker near your home. It cooks pizzas that fit on pizza plates, a little larger than those used for traditional meals but not huge. Reasonable dishes for reasonable people with normal mouths and stomachs, not hippos. People who also have other things to do in life, but who want to give themselves a little joy, a little gratification in the evening, enjoying a pizza. Who don't want to complicate their lives just to get a pizza. This is because eating a pizza must be a pleasure! If it becomes a before and after commitment, it's like a second job, it's not worth it! Otherwise we go out and go to the pizzeria!
    I also cooked fish and vegetables there. The fish turned out tasty but I need to do some experience to find the best way to use it. I bought the oven just a couple of weeks ago!
    The fish recipe said 40 minutes of cooking and therefore the 30 minute timer reassured me that I could feel comfortable even if the cooking had been longer, beyond just 4 minutes, like for pizza.
    Maybe I'm going on too long but I would like to say that one useful thing is that it cleans quite well even on its own. It is given a quick dusting when it has cooled down but every now and then it is turned on at maximum for a while, so if any residue remains attached, the heat pulverizes and disinfects everything. ... Maybe I won't give it to my children as an inheritance, but now it is useful to me, my children will buy it as they want!!!
    LOL

      That's so nice to read! I agree with all of this, even though I am not brave enough to try a fish on this oven, it looks like a great idea. It will be a nice little oven for home use by average users. If prospective buyers come to it with reasonable expectations, I think it can be an excellent purchase indeed. Thanks for sharing your opinion, I really appreciate it!

    I would like one with two separate temperatures control with the upper and lower heaters controlled independently.

      @deepfoodlove  6 місяців тому

      Hey, Omar! Yep, that would be very nice indeed. It would allow two different types of doughs, or even dishes to be done concomitantly. I do see it happening at this price range, though, unfortunately.

    Agreed ! The timer is absolutely unnecessary.
    I would have preferred to have a separate temperature controller for both heating elements.
    The paintwork is not easy to clean after baking, it gets spoilt with a yellowish hue.
    The size of the baking area is a little too small for commercial store bought bases.

    • @deepfoodlove
      @deepfoodlove  7 місяців тому

      I haven't tried the store bought bases yet. Since we can't have pizza every day, unfortunately 😅, the few times I have the opportunity to make the pizza disks I try doing at home. To practice with the recipe and the bread-baking part of the process. What were your results like with store bought pizzas?! Did you feel any difference in regards to your regular oven?

    I can imagine, that they chose this timer to let the customer set it to the approximate heating time before putting the pizza on the oven. Or to use it as alarm, when you try pyrolysis cleaning as it is described in the manual. That takes 30 minutes.
    What concerns me is (I received my oven today) that I not really see a stone in the oven. The surface seems like plastic, not like a stone.

    • @deepfoodlove
      @deepfoodlove  13 днів тому +1

      Actually, these are really good points! Possibly this was their intention with this timer. However, I think I would still prefer a more accurate and precise 4-minute timer. Because, although I can see why you'd use this for the 10 minute pre-heating or even cleaning, it makes the timer much less accurate for cooking. Which is the only one of the three uses for which a 20% inaccurate operation can actually significantly interfere with the results.
      For instance, if you're waiting for it to heat and you get a ring at 12 minutes rather than 10, you're still OK. If you get a ring at 5 and a half minutes when you wanted 4, you're left with crust burned to a crisp. But still, all minor issues, because we always have the phone at hand.

    on my new Ariete 909 the timer don't cut the power when it reach zero, (I had a 5 year old red one with similar design and the timer cut the power at 0 on that, so much safer to use when i cook a frozen pizza at lower temp for 30 minutes.) I'm sceared using the ariel 909 without a proper timer, maybe i fell asleep and the house burn down (i think i need to buy a external timer who turn of power from the wall contact.

    • @deepfoodlove
      @deepfoodlove  2 місяці тому

      @@ma6netho Yep, you're right about that, it doesn't cut the power when it reaches zero on the timer. However, in this specific, I have to make a point that this is not the promise of the product. The timer is only there to let you know when the food is done. Not to turn off the product.
      I would imagine that it would not be of much use for the pizzas, though, because the product relies on the heat being stored in a stone, therefore, even if you had an auto turn off function, it would only turn off the electric component, it can't remove the heat from the stone, obviously. And I don't have an issue with this kind of equipment not having a turn off function because the main advice here is: NEVER EVER abandon such a product unattended. Seriously, the main complaint about it is that it draws too much power to the point of turning off the whole house in some cases. So, even if Ariete ever launches a new version with an auto turn off function on the timer, NEVER walk away from this, please stay the whole five minutes standing next to it and watching every development.
      Stay safe and enjoy your food 🍕

      Só sorry to hear that, I hope no serious damage was done 😖 Unfortunately that is one of the main complaints about this product, hopefully it gave you good pizzas before that. What are your thoughts going forward? Would you get a different one in the future?

    • @user-Wojciech
      @user-Wojciech 4 місяці тому +2

      @@deepfoodlove sparks flew out, but no damage to anything else.
      3 months old, so still very much under warranty.
      So it's no just my experience with Ariete. I won't be getting another one.
      It makes very good pizzas. Today I had to make pizzas in the regular oven, with a pizza stone, and Ariete cooks them so much better. It's a pity they break easily.
      I'm thinking what to buy next.
      I'm guessing all these pizza ovens that look like Ariete are built very similarly and probably none of them lasts long.
      Maybe pay a bit more and buy something like Unold Luigi.
      What are your recommendations?

      @@deepfoodlove I've just ordered the G3 Ferrari. It's currently on offer on Amazon Italy, 82€/£70 including delivery to the UK , great price. A couple of people on a forum told me the Ferrari ovens can last a few years, so sounds like they're a lot better than Ariete.

    • @deepfoodlove
      @deepfoodlove  4 місяці тому

      @@user-Wojciech Yep, I think exactly the same. They look SUSPICIOUSLY similar indeed. So I would suppose that the good and the bad will be alike.
      Unfortunately, I couldn't get my hands in other pizza ovens to test yet, but please share your info with us through insta! We'll be happy to know more and post your results in the stories! But, if money was not an issue, I am very curious about the Ooni Volt Pizza oven. I would start there 🤩

      @user-Wojciech 4 місяці тому

      @@deepfoodlove ok, I'll share it on Instagram. I've watched a couple of reviews on UA-cam and it seems like Ariete browns the top a bit faster and the G3 Ferrari the bottom. That seems to be the only difference (and a 5 min timer on the Ferrari). Other than that I hope the Ferrari lasts much longer.

      Thanks for your comment. Indeed, it seems pretty easy to spot that this was not a god choice from Ariete. In the other hand, I also concede that, nowadays, this is a minor detail, I would suppose that everyone has a phone or watch nearby to set a timer in case of need. So there's that 🙂
