Description: This World War II film was produced by the War Department to be shown to civilian war workers. It includes three segments. "Little Detroit" shows an automotive reassembly plant in the Mediterranean area. Crated vehicles are unpacked, assembled, and painted. The second segment is a report from the 5th Combat Camera Unit of the Army Air Force in Wau, New Guinea. There is footage of planes of the Troop Carrier Command landing at Wau, which is later bombed by Japanese planes. Air transports peel off from formation and land at Wau. The wounded are evacuated to Port Moresby. The final segment is the film "The Price of Rendova", which can also be found in the records of the National Archives under Local Identifier 111-M-926. We see U.S. troops land on Rendova in the Solomon Islands and advance over jungle terrain supported by naval and artillery bombardment. Artillery units on Rendova blast neighboring Munda Island. The wounded are treated at a field hospital.
