The country house to me looks like a mausoleum. It's not grand enough to uphold the gothic, unlike St. Pancras. I think Dan's view of it as a public building is appropriate. Interesting that the owner actually was a monster.
The country house looks more Italianate but with mostly arched windows. It’s a hybrid-gothnate or Italianic. I’m not a fan of this look. It looks like something that Prince Albert would’ve come up with.
