    Jake, I have been an accomplished martial Artist. Studied, some Jujitsu, Tang So Do, Taekwondo, and even some trap fighting. However, I have never come across someone such as you who has so much knowldege and so much technique with a huge array of weaponry. I would love to learn from you. In particularly I would love to learn the bo staff and sai first. I watched you perform the #1 spin and I was BLOWN away. I intend to keep following your videos but is there a better way to learn from you? I've already subscribed to your channel but I would be willing for a nominal fee to train under you over the Internet. How can I go by doing this sir! I've been searching for somebody that has same knowledge and the ability to also apply what you know in combat. I am quite talented with open hand I just really would like to learn weapon right now

    I feel people aren't getting the idea of what you are trying to teach us, and its techniques to avoid as much conflict as possible, intimidation with the bo can give you the upper hand or scare them off. it also gives you more control practice with the weapon so it becomes part of your body, the spin isn't for combat moves its to prepare for it, love your stuff jake, fantastic steps in teaching, learnt allot watching your vids and hope it will one day protect me if i need. and ofcourse prepare me for the zombies ;)

    it was thanks to your amazing bo staff skills video back in the day that I have managed to learn some tricks and probably even picked the bo staff up. Its been a while since the last time ive played around with it, but I am definitely going back. Especailly now that the flowsaber is about to hit the kickstarter. Have you heard about flowsaber Jake? If not, check it out on facebook. Pretty cool idea.

    Hi Jake! I love to watch your videos and I am just beginning my martial arts journey. Your videos are amazing and as soon as the notification pops up that you have uploaded a video, I always go straight to it. Is it okay if I request a video? I've been having a little bit of trouble on the Shaolin Seven star fist (七星拳.) If you don't know what it is, that is okay. 謝謝你的幫助!

    hello Mr mace. I'm only 3 days into my Bo training (about 4 hours total) but am able to do all 5 spins pretty well (but comparatively slow) however spin spin 2 ans 5 are quite fast. However, I just cant seem to get good speed on spin 1. Could you advise a lil? 😊 im presently in Indonesia and i do plan to sign up for one of your Skype private lessons. I have a concern about hand conditioning. I also box and it took me a bit to tuffen my knuckles. I recently had a 1.5 hours training session and notice the next day the muscle in my hands, wrist and forearms were so sore and I also rubbed the skin between my thumb and first finger raw (they're getting better now). would you say this is a matter of conditioning or incorrect grip pressure on the Bo (rattan)? Thank you so much and i look forward to many more tutorials.

      It is........ Kinda. The lineage through the mother, and there's been reports that "true" jews consider converts as second class jews. Hard to tell for sure what people believe since so many people lie, distort, etc. Live in peace, treat everyone like you want to be treated, never force your will on others, never allow a violation of someones rights to stand unopposed, but if someone fucks with you, send them to hell. That's my life policy.

    How can you avoid hitting yourself with a bo staff, i find i accidentally hit myself in the head and legs quite often- what can i do to prevent this or how can i work on control of the staff?

    • @tehmlgdragon5031
      @tehmlgdragon5031 7 років тому

      My cheesy answer would be to just "feel it" but honestly your form is most likely wrong, and it takes *months* to actually being able to stop it from hitting you. I used to spin a staff everyday for about 2 hours at a time and it took me a month or two to actually get my form right, and then a few extra months for me to be able to control the staff but fluidly as well.

    Hi Jake, I just finished a pretty exciting project you might want to see. I wanted to order the collapsible bo staff from karatemart.com but they do not ship to germany, so I decided to build one on my own. It is made out of stainless steel and some brass parts. It is close to the original dimensions and a little bit heavier but definitly stronger. I would like to share pictures or even videos of my masterpiece with you, if you are interested.
