    And they will tear stuff just being curious and scratching!
    We have two boers and our fences are woven wire (like your second fence) and it was staples to 4x4 posts and buried 4-6” in the hard clay ground.
    They have bowed it all out and even knocked some of it completely loose!!
    Thanks for sharing!!

      RonBootsFarm some of them can be brutal on fencing! Knock on wood ours hasn’t been that bad!

    I'm house breaking my goat. He's doing great. He pees and poops on a puppy pads during the night
    And he 'goes'outside during the day

    Thanks for sharing those helpful tips. We're still cleaning up our land and barn, but I'm fairly certain goats are in my future. :)

    Great facts you two! That's a big misconception, that goats will eat the grass. They're not usually grazers.

      Green Dream Project I agree we thought they would eat more grass than they do!

      They are much better grass mowers, not as good as goats when it comes to clean out brushy areas.

    I’m preparing my yard for Nigerian or Pygmy goats. What gauge fence do you recommend? I was going to do the same concept as you with the T-posts and 2x4 woven fencing.

    Since vitamin c works for for only 24 hours after a dosage than would it work longer if you drink goat milk instead of cow milk when suffering a low immunity malfunction? Or goat hormones?

    Hi Lance & Marci, oh I love the goats from a distance lol. I have 3 little lap dogs and I am good with that lol. When are you able to start milking your goats and enjoying the milk and cheese?

      I think it is about 4 -6 weeks after they are born. We will do some milk sharing at 1st. We will separate the mamma from the babies and milk in the morning and let the little have it the rest of the day.

    • @jenendahunter8207
      @jenendahunter8207 5 років тому +1

      I am not sure what you mean, you milk momma 4 to 6 weeks after she gives birth? Also, are you guys going to try to make cheese?

    • @RockingCHomestead
      @RockingCHomestead  5 років тому +1

      Yes, once the babies get a little older we can share some of the milk with the babies. We do plan on making cheese.

    Would a vinyl fence be a bad idea?

    • @RockingCHomestead
      @RockingCHomestead  Рік тому

      I would be cautious with a vinyl fence. I don't think it would be strong enough, but I don't have any 1st hand knowledge of how sturdy those are.
