Thanks for the very prompt response. I'm into balloon twisting as well as balloon stuffing. I just think the vinyl idea would enhance any project. Cheers! Mick
Hi Chris. I was at your London session. I haven't actually made up the cardboard jig but I like the idea of using 2 x 260s to make a 'belt' around the balloon. I have tried it and it really helps getting things straight especially on a foil star or heart. Good tip Chris; ripper! Steve
@@Balloonpro Certainly has. I sometimes use 260s to fix the balloons to a chair back but last night in bed I thought I could use the idea with a table top easel. 👍

Great video , I wonder if you experienced the vinyl wrinkling after a few hours ? I made several vinyl Ballons recently and it seems that the writing wrinkles like it’s coming off and I can’t find the cause for it any advice ?
Hi! The vinyl will wrinkle if the balloon decreases in size OR the vinyl doesn't stick correctly. We always pre inflate our bubbles first and leave for a few hours to make sure it has no leaks. You will also notice that if the temperature fluctuates this will increase or decrease the size of the balloon & subsequently the vinyl will stretch or wrinkle.
Thank you for sharing. Could you please tell me what type/brand vinyl and transfer tape you're using? And where can I purchase it from? On your website?
Hi Kavoa, thanks for watching! Unfortunately we don't sell any of these products, we just focus on balloons. The brand we use is called the 'Avery 500' series in Australia from a place called 'Graphic Art Mart'
What a brilliant idea using the vinyl! Could you go into more detail about creating the vinyl please. I've recently heard about vinyl cutting machines but have never used one. Thanks for posting.
Hi there! Thanks for the feedback. I haven't created anything about printing vinyl as it is machine specific, I'm sure you will be able to find lots of videos online detailing the cutting process. Let me know if you cant! Chris.
Hello, excellent video, I have a question, how long does the vinyl last in the balloon with helium without taking off, because I have seen on many occasions that the vinyl is taking off, this happens because?
Hi Suzette, thanks for your feedback! The answer to your question is that it varies. For a quality balloon such as a Qualatex deco bubble, the helium will escape slowly. If you use soft but sticky vinyl (note, you can get many different types), the vinyl will stretch onto the balloon and hold for up to 5 days. If the temperature drops on day 2, the balloon will shrink and the vinyl will crinkle or even fold off... So many variables. What is important is that you make it clear to your customer that you cannot guarantee 'x', based on your practice and experience guarantee them the minimum days it will be good for and the expectations have been set.
Hi Chris !!! This is such a great idea, one of the biggest issues that I have is transferring the vinyl to the bubbles .... and this “box” it’s perfect to keep the control of the balloon !!! I thinking that my problem also it’s because I haven’t find the correct transfer paper I’m using the cricut oficial transfer paper and it’s really bad .... can you recommend a good one !!! I’m suffering with this :’( by the way your business is amazing and you are such a great I nspiration thank you very much !!!!
Hi Maria! Lovely to meet you I'm so glad this has helped :) RE transfer tape. We use clear medium tac transfer tape. It is sold as a roll. You must make sure you use medium or low tac tape. Good luck!
I've tried so many vinyls on the bubble balloon. But the vinyl will alwaysss bubbling after 10 hours. The bubble balloon is not shrinking. I don't understand. What vinyl is the best to put on the deco bubble balloons. For now I'm using the silhouette vinyl. But which vinyl is better??
Hi Bella, sorry for the late reply. We use Avery 500 series vinyl. All I can suggest is: A) Your balloon is going down, but you said this isn't the case, b) The vinyl isn't sticking or c) The print you are cutting is too big OR doesn't have enough gaps around the print to help you apply it.
I'm confused!!! Perhaps it's because some balloon techniques are new to me. You used a 24" deco with a 17" latex inside (the size you replied to one of the viewer's question to this video). Did you overinflate the red 17" latex by 7 inches, but it didn't pop????? Thanks for your reply!

hi excellent video, txs. question: im having issues with vinyl air bubbles shortly after it has been applied. Any suggestions? is the vinyl supposed to stick without bubbles for long time? please help
Hi Chris! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, tips and tricks with everyone! :) I live in Boston, USA and I'm just getting started with a small :) balloon "business". Before selling to the client I'm trying to test everything myself...and my biggest disappointment and WORRY has been with the deco bubbles. - I inflate them with helium and in 20 mins or so they start wrinkling (deflating) :( :( :( i tried tying them up with fishing line, twine etc but nothing works :( How do people keep them inflated for days (even weeks)??? Your help would be soooo much appreciated :) Thank you! B.
Hi Blerta! I am actually thinking of our next video to be on bubble balloons. They are tricky. We use a small cut of a 160q or 260q balloon. The stretch in the latex compresses around the valve of the bubble and closes it off air tight. Give that a go!
Hi!Is there a way that I can stop the vinyl bubbling over a few hours of being on the balloon? There is no shrinking of the bubble just the vinyl bubbles up! Any way to stop that from happening? Thanks!
I personalized a bubble ballon and some time later the vinyl began to wrinkle. Is it because of the type of vinyl or is it because the balloon did not seal properly? thanks
Hi Chris: I put glitter paper and pre- cut confetti in my Deco Bubble. I have tried to cut my own circles using a 1/2 inch hole puncher. It will cut the paper but it will not cut the tissue paper and it will not cut the mylar sheets. Is there a tool I can buy that will cut it? Also what can I put in the deco 24' BALLOON that will make the paper stick to the sides. or will the paper even stick at all. Thanks Chris
Hey! Sorry for the late reply. I think I missed this. Unfortunately I only have experience cutting and transferring vinyl. I haven't tried anything else. Good luck!
Hi Jacqueline. Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for letting me know. RE a vinyl cutting machine. Absolutely. We use a Zing KNK but there are plenty on the market that are quite affordable.
Hi, just want to ask a question. I used a 24" deco bubble to make a balloon in balloon. I used 5 unit 5 inch Qualatex balloons as inside balloon and inflated air. After filled all small balloons into deco bubble, I inflated helium for the deco bubble. However, around 10 hours later, the 5 inch balloons became larger and larger. Finally, the all small 5 inch balloon burst. Any recommendation to keep the small size balloon :) ? Thanks
Hi Bill A common mistake. Make sure you inflate your 5" balloons with helium. If you have air inflated 5" in a helium environment (the bubble), the helium from the bubble will want to equalize the pressure around the air in the latex, expand it and then pop. Helium in your 5" will fix this. Cheers, Chris
Hi Chris, Just got one more problem about the deco bubble balloon. As we place the wording sticker on the deco bubble, the bubble coverage remain a lot of finger print. Are there any tips to fix these finger print ? Thanks for your help again :) Cheers, Bill
Hi Bill Sorry I'm not 100% sure what the best method would be to fix that... Perhaps use cotton gloves? We don't seem to get fingerprints on deco bubbles here. Good luck! Chris
It will always slowly deflate. My advice is to inflate the balloon 24 hours in advance and apply vinyl, that way you will at least detect any faults. Also make sure the temperature is consistent overnight.
Hi, thanks for your video. What type of vinyl did you use on this ballloon? We've tried Cricut vinyl and it's seems to bubble off after a couple of days.
Hi there. If using a 17" BSA round inside the bubble, you can simply tie a basic knot on the 17" balloon BUT then there will be some exposed latex so that latex will deflate faster than the outside bubble skin. I would twist the neck of the bubble multiple times over the tied 17" balloon and then wrap that with an offcut of 260Q or 5" neck to seal everything as one.
Hi Daniela. I think you may be talking about the outside bubble balloon? They can be sourced from a company called 'Qualatex Balloons', it is called a 24" Deco Bubble balloon. Good luck!
We have tried this - but the weight of the vinyl letters just prevents the balloon floating when helium is used to float the balloon. If you can get the balloons to float, they don't float for very long. The only way to get these balloons to work is to produce a stencil with a Cricut explorer machine (or similar cutting machine) and ink on the words onto the balloon. Have a look at www.getpersonalised.net for more information.
