fun fact arpeggio's girls were actually forced into having physical forms and personalities because the main character had sunk so many of their ships that they realised defeating humanity with sheer force wasn't working anymore so they had to develop personalities to strategise
And that could be use as a "prolog" in the collab story.
Like arpeggio came first, introducing the "ship girl personality" that we see in kancolle and azur lane.
@@SamuelShiina Maybe but their personalities are vastly different vastly in kancolle and Azur as well as appearance. In Blue steel for example kongou is a cold calculated flagship with a superiority complex but in Azur and kancolle she's completely different

Don't let the pilot arc fool you, although it keeps to the historic battles of WW2, the Revival Future Arc where the ships are made into girls is where the story gets deep.

Also, the main issue has never been the devs, but the publisher (DMM), who is a porn site with an all-ages section (not the other way around), and decided it was in his best interest to not venture into the west because they did not want to censor or modify anything on their site. Remember the whole fanart fiasco from AL? That's the kind of thing they don't want to deal with.
The Kancolle devs have always been supportive of foreigner players. Kadokawa and DMM? not so much.
Kankolle is only one not brave enough to leave Japan.

My theory for the longest time is as follows: When the Fleet of Fog was dealt with, (by, ya know, turning them good through the power of love and emotions and stuff) those who sent them, AKA the Sirens, still needed a way to control Earth’s seas. Therefore, they got their hands dirty themselves and began sending their own custom-made ships to fight the human-allied fleet of fog. At this point, both sides experiment with using the nano robot repair technology (I forget what it’s called exactly) from the Fleet of Fog era to disassemble the ships and attach the components to the Mental Models themselves. Through this process we shift into the Azur Lane era, with the nanotechnology becoming the wisdom cubes as seen in the anime (notice when the ships convert from ships into the wearable gear they temporarily become glowing blue “wisdom cubes”). However, because of imperfections in the technology and a lack of power in gear mode, this still necessitates the ability to use the regular ship form sometimes. Later on, do to a technological leap, the gear mode is just as powerful as the ship mode, rendering the large, easy to spot and difficult to maneuver ship forms obsolete. This shifts from the Azur Lane era into the Kancolle era, with the Sirens renaming themselves to Abyssals for, uh, reasons. That makes the timeline thus: Arpeggio of Blue Steel -> Azur Lane -> Kantai Collection. Anyone who wishes to try to work in the Abyssals/Sirens to be one-in-the-same as the antagonists from the Strike Witches series feel free to go ahead

@@Lukusprime to be more accurate for the lore of all three series, sirens would have time travel and multiverse travel tech. The kantai collection universe would probably be a failed experiment by the sirens to create a formidable humanity to fight against due to the meddling of the human soul. The ship girls and abyssals of the kantai verse are technically spirits. The ARP universe could be the result of siren interference that provided the AI of the ARP universe precursor of the siren multiverse travel tech and time travel tech. The azur lane universe would be another universe influenced by sirens providing wisdom cube tech. The crossover would start by azur lane ship girls dragged along by the sirens to another universe and the ship girls will slowly discover why the sirens mess up their timelines. The sirens are basically like the gardim of SRWV. I imagine they would try to merge all 4 earth's timelines to create the ultimate humanity to fight against.
