Masculinity isn't toxic. Lack of masculinity makes men toxic. Weak men are dangerous for society. A men who posses self confidence, don't dominate the weak.
Masculinity isn't defined by only physical superiority. It's a characteristic that everyone posses, may it be male or female. Only difference is the to what extent.
Brave, bold, strong, determination, confidence are some qualities which can be defined as masculine.

The reason is prob bcuz being feminine is more for women and masculine is more for men (according to society) and that women r considered the less better gender so when a guy is doing some simple feminine things which usually the “less better gender” does then he’s considered bad or smth

People can identify as Man, Woman, Both (Agender) or Neither (Non binary). That's why they can describe themselves however they want rather than using the pre-defined categories of male or female.
Also even if we don't quite understand people's gender differences, we should atleast try to respect it, because they know themselves better than anyone.

I've been in therapy too! It's amazing and I highly recommend it to everyone!!! And don't worry, even when I was in middle school, I had 5 friends who were girls and 3 guys as friends. Girls were more easier to talk to as I was an emotional dude and could express myself more openly to girls. But times have changed as I'm doing college and there are a lot of my guy friends who are extremely welcoming and Non-judgemental and support me if my mental health is low. I've been in a somewhat similar environment so I know where you're coming from

As a girl, i would like to say that this toxic masculinity is SO absurd
Who even asked boys to behave in a certain way?
    They're humans too..
They can cry too.. They are allowed to be sweet too. Just like how we girls don't like to be considered weak cause of a mere stereotype, boys dont need to act "tough" just because they're supposed to. I hate that so much, they should be allowed to express, and "that expressing" shouldn't be compared to women
Both of the genders are humans not males and females. I totally support the boys because they deserve importance too

    • @MusTelOJ

Agree with your statement. We all are humans together, but in reality we stay like humans with each other unless an adult teaches us that "Sitting with girls makes you look bad", "you are a boy so you have to be a "insert occupation here". Toxic Masculinity is not a naturally occurring mindset, it's the one who teaches us, i.e. Our Teachers and our Parents (even friends as well). That's why you notice Children are pure with everything, they make friends with other religion and genders. If you don't listen to people, you are uninformed, but if you listen to the people, you're misinformed. I totally support girls and boys in this matter as well, they deserve importance.

I believe this type of mentality is very much strong in north and southern part of India. During collage days once one of my male friend started crying over his family member's illness. Two of our profesor came forward and started consoling him saying cry as much as you can. It will make your heart feel lighter and will make you strong to deal with the situation. My art teacher's body language sometimes will be little feminine, but I never saw he is criticised because of that. He holds the limka book of record for his work. But it is true that sometimes we do talk about like this boy or that boy behaves like a girl. But I didn't see that someone has criticised them for that. When I came to south for job and started communicating with a lot of south Indians and north Indians , I have seen people calling some boys 'chakka', which later I came to know the meaning. I have seen boys mock other boys just because they are shy or talk less or have a thin voice. I was introduced with this type of behavior when I came out from my state. Some of my life experiences:
    1. In my highschool, I was crying staring at the ground while sitting on the top of bench. Two classmates - one girl and one boy, started to chuckle looking at me because everybody have seen me in the class from third standard that I cry over a lot of things and "very easily", idk why they laughed exactly but I'm guessing if it was a girl, some conversation would have happened, not mockery. I could read on their faces that they were laughing thinking that it must be a girl (there was one who near around that time left the school out of blues and she was really close to me). I'm quite known in my class to having serious emotional issues with girls and their romantic bonds with me. It was not because of the girl I was crying... It was my best friend. My male (supposedly) best friend.
    2. After highschool, I came across a really beautiful girl who was genuinely interested in me and knowing about me. I surely lost that chance to be with her as my insecurities and fear to open up were there. But even when she was the one who was able to point these insecurities, she herself told the person because of who we came in communication with, that amd I quote (in English, it was Hindi), "he's so emotional himself. I want a guy who would be able to love me." I make a sense of this statement and it's pretty clear she wanted someone who can take care of her emotions and she didn't have to go through giving therapy to someone else. Fair enough.
    3. In my filmmaking institute, during the third semester, I was experimenting on my looks. I clean shaved my beard, and had streak coloured hairs with a pompadour hairstyle. I have been always like I am from ky childhood... Gentle, kind, humble, friendly, expressive, talkative, maybe funny? LOL, never mind. People in the batch turned their heads back and looked at me when one of the students from other batch who was also my friend, was telling everyone about this ex-teacher on whom she had a crush on because he was a really handsome and nice guy but turned out to be gay (or maybe she suspected or something she said about his behaviour in relation to being gay). Because of the similarity in the teacher's charm and me, they also suspected if I'm also a gay. Yes, obviously it was a joke.
    4. March 2019, I was drunk and stoned as well. It was Holi and I was coming back from an event. Bunch of boys from our class were hanging out and one of them called me to meet all of us outside my house. I reached there and mocked my aforementioned (supposedly) best friend by refusing to shaking his hand and saying things such as "don't know why douchebags are here". He's obviously meant to be angry as we were not "best friends" anymore so rather communicating with me, he choose to be angry and abuse me over SMS when I refused to pick his phone call and argue. We had argument in SMS and I just wrote one single reply after his continued 3-4 texts that "you don't deserve my friendship" to which he got more angry and now blabbering whatever things he was getting in his head to make me feel inferior and represent himself as superior. He said things like "what piece of sh*t you sre, impotent a-hole, who would beg to be around you, you don't have anyone around you and I've everyone around me" etc. He typed in one of the sent messages this, and I quote - "what happened? Are you crying?" Well, I was not but that definitely hurt me when I saw that person with whom I shared such incredible moments and thought he's my best friend was now treating me as inferior for my nature. Obviously it was clear how he saw me throughout our friendship, that's why he didn't choose me as his best friend at the end.
    5. Around a year back, I decided to be a proud homemaker... I first started to casually talk about it. One of the classmates said "there would be no respect left for you man. Men don't do these things." Even my own elder sister said "you're supposed to earn for your family by using your physical strength, men are who do this, not women". I really didn't understand through these people that why I'm required to always show and use my "physical strength" to provide for my family throughout my life, and why I can't just choose to NOT be the financial head rather an emotional support for my family. How a man is bound to follow the top hierarchy customs and traditions while being passively agressive for every little thing coming across in life for, at the end of the day just providing finance and materials to the family?
I really never have understood when is it a curse... To be born as a boy or be born as a girl.
