    I’m impressed, ordered one today. It’s a microgranny on steroids.

    Wow, I am impressed by the attention to detail in both your video and the actual device. I was on the fence about this one, but after seeing how they've implmented it, I might give it a go.

    Thanks for sharing. I ordered one too. It helped me understand the manual that I downloaded. A walk through is always better. Subbed too. And bookmarked it to study again when I get the unit in the mail.

    I don't know how I've managed to miss the "OK+steps=sets step probability" keystroke until today. So thank you for that one. Great video. My only gripe with Liven Texture Lab is the limited (32) sample slots. Also, I hope that Sonicware's next generation of Livens has usb/SD micro card data transfer for samples/patterns. MIDI dump is ssssssssssssslllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwww....

    Thanks for this tutorial. I am still undecided between the texture Lab and the Microfreak (that now has granular synthesis).
    For the Texture Lab to be absolutely perfect for me it would need to have 24bit sample rate (and why not a 16/8bit degrade button like the LoFi) SD card, a small screen like the SmplTrek showing the sample wave form and ideally an horizontal fader to move around the sampler and a knob to adjust the selected area 😅. Would gladly pay more for it of course.

    Great machine!!
    Is it possible to pass the incoming line in audio through the sequencer that change granular settings in a rhythmically way? This is the only aspect I don't get

    Nice job Woochia! One thing I will mention to ease your mind as well as anyone else considering this device (or any liven device that uses SYSEX MIDI dumps to save patches).Though MID-OX is one of the software products that you can use, it is by far the only one. I personally use my DAW (Cubase) which allows me to midi dump to and from it to save my patches. Most of the btter DAWs do allow this type of functionality, and there are countless other MIDI librarians out there including some for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices... Making it a it more convenient than having to rely on having a full functioning computer around. I do wish that Sonicware would consider using Micro SD cards, as the have on the SMPLTrek in their other LIVEN devices. But I guess they are what they are for now. Mayb later... Still hoping that Sonicware brings a more "Keyboard" less groove box device with more knobs to reduce shifts, and func buttons.... Also a bigger screen weould be nice. CAN'T WAIT for the ELZ-1 Limited Edition Synth coming in November!! It might be the coolest thing Sonicware has made (Well other than the SMPLTrek)

    Hi great video! Can sounds made with this be recorded into a DAW like ableton without using Midi-dox?

    • @Woochia
      @Woochia  5 місяців тому

      The easiest way would be to plug the output of the liven in a soundcard and record the audio in Ableton. At least that's how I do it

    Hey man, very good tutorial! Does the PC application work on Linux and if it doesn't, in your knowledge, do you know of a Linux option?
    Thanks!

    • @Woochia
      @Woochia  10 місяців тому +1

      I don't know any equivalent for linux unfortunately, but I've read in the comments that some DAW can do this. Look up for "sysex synth file transfer" or something similar, I guess you should find something.

    A sysex dump can be made in any daw , reaper is good in handling this , the 32 slots smples do they remain in the unit on power down without batteries in ? (Flash memory)

      @@Woochia just set the daw in record at 80-100 bpm , sysex will be in clip , plackback the clip normally puts the receiving device in load mode when it's Midi spec is in handshake mode.

    Why when I turn the device on led under bpm knob do not blink and I cant change tempo? display shows SYNC when Im turning this knob…

    • @Woochia
      @Woochia  8 місяців тому +2

      It must be trying to get the tempo from an external machine.
      Hold the function button and press CLOCK (on the middle G, on the keyboard).
      Do that until you see SRC for 'source', and set it to INT for 'internal' with the value knob.
      You should then be able to control the tempo with the BPM knob.

    How do you know what key you’re in?

    • @Woochia
      @Woochia  2 місяці тому +1

      Do you mean in general? Or how to know the key of a sample you're using? For the latter, find some notes that are in the sample, list them, and see in what tonality they fit. Knowing a little of music theory goes a long way, especially how to use a circle of fifths. There's a whole playlist of music theory tutorials on my channel if that can help.

    I like a lot about it but the lack of complete ADSR envelopes ( no envelope on the filter at all!) and no real time MIDI controls (for instance aftertouch) just limit it too much for me.
