    It's Gramma again. I just wanted to let you know I finished the chain net for my grandkids. I used large jump rings instead of the rectangular links and it came out great. They love it! I would send you a photo, but I don't know how to do all that. Thanks again for the video!

    We have a basketball court outside (the field is not covered). I place a pair of net at each school year and after 6 months, the net is tearing and decomposing (cause: alternating rain / sun). So, this year I decided to make a steel chain net. I found your work excellent, thanks for your sense of sharing.

    Chain net

  • @barrybrown-sharpe4881
    @barrybrown-sharpe4881 6 років тому +3

    I think i may have solved the problem brought up some time ago about the length of the chain being 94cm,
    This is in fact,......INCORRECT,..... If you do the maths using the number of links used in each one of the connecting sections as has been quoted for each side,12,10,8,8, ( 2 x sides and 4 link sections in total) ( ive added another 18 links after the 4th section for the hanging part of the net) the actual number of links adds up to around 94 links per chain.
    Isn't this a coincidence. the same number of links as the length of the chain, I suggest people should disregard the 94cm length quoted, and simply count 94 links for each chain length as it will also depend on what size links in the chain you are using.
    For example, a similar size chain i am using with 94 links measures out to being around 1.32cm, if i was to cut the chain at 94cm, id only get 66 links. It simply wouldn't work.
    Hope this will be of help for everyone in the future.

    • @BasketballFans
      @BasketballFans  6 років тому +2

      Mine has been ok for 2 years. This video is not a rule . It's just a kind of start of how to do it. Everyone can work with the measure and the count of the rings, changing the linking rings to key rings, you can figure it out the best way. I mean the most important thing here... is the final result and the shape you have in mind to reach. Chaging ideas we grow together. Thanks a lot brother... for sharing your experience and thoughts.

    • @barrybrown-sharpe4881
      @barrybrown-sharpe4881 6 років тому +1

      my comments was not a critisimn, but more of an observation and clarification as there was a comment some time ago that raised my concerns that when he cut the chain to 94 cm, it appeared to short and when considering the number of links you counted out for each section, it would only come out to using 66 link, not the 94 in total you had mentioned.. so the key take away point is, it greatly depends on the size of the links, not so much the length of the chain, Cheers
