Moms drives stick too? 👍🏼 both cars are a beauty 😭 S197 ftw
Thanks man. Yep every single one of her GTs are manual
Both cars look great and that's awesome that you can do this install yourself. I have a 14 Mustang GT premium with Ford Performance Assembled Adjustable Handling Pack. It is good around town and for aggressive driving but rough on highways and over imperfect roads. I wonder how the BMR package would compare?
A lot of it has to do with spring/shock combination. Since this is the stock shocks i'm sure that's whats smoothing this out quite nicely. What does that pack come with exactly?
Jacob R. Doty www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-adjust-handlingpack-0514gt-assembled.html
Nice! That’s probably the GT500 or boss 302 setup that ford uses.
Do you absolutely need the caster camber plates? I know it’ll help with the alignment but if I used the factory top hats would the alignment upfront be all wonky?🤔
I would - I had similar springs on my car before without the CC plates and I blew through some expensive Mickey Thompson street comps because of the alignment
I have a 14 GT convertible and went with .8/ FW, 1.2 RW Eidbach pro sport lowering kit (also sitting on 20in staggered Verde Axis wheels); roads in east TX suck in alot of areas; wondering what my wheel gap will be when I get them installed, do you have an estimate. (also purchased caster/camber plates, panhard bar, new struts and LCAs. Love the vids - 1st mustang I have had, mostly Chevy's before , I'm hooked on my 197 now!
You said at the start of the video these are the BMR "PERFORMANCE HANDLING" springs right? The ones off LMR with the higher spring rate. 240lb up front and 200lb in the rear. Verses the "STREET" springs they have that are 165lb / 160lb front to rear. Just wanted to clarify as I'm getting ready to do the same to my car. I wanted to know if the stiffer spring rate is daily friendly.
Yep these are the performance handling springs, not street.
@@JacobRDoty Okay, thanks for the reply man.
3:50 I will be careful when I'm twerking. Thanks for the heads up. As always, nice vids man.
hahahahaha!! Dude it seriously sounds like that
Great video! Thank you for the support, BMR FTW!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 BMR all the way
I actually PM’d you the link on FB but didn’t get a response so it’s funny you saw it 😂
@@JacobRDoty I occasionally roam YT for videos where people tag BMR. lol. I stumbled upon this one. haha
Nice. Well glad you saw it 👍🏼
Car looking good.
Great info. I’m actually going with almost same set up except I’m using the cobra jet springs. Down hear in Florida we only have long straight roads no mountains our twistys.
Then you may benefit from the BMR Drag Springs! Check them out too if you don't already have the Cobra Jets. Lots of people love the BMRs
I have a 13 CSGT same color as your mom’s. What wheels does she have? I have the stock wheels and it’s time for an upgrade.
Looks great Brah!
Would you mind sharing the wheel/tire specs? The size, offset, etc.. I’m about to order a set and this fitment looks perfect.
19x8.5 +32
245/35r19
19x9.5 +38
275/40r19
Love the 13-14 GT
What springs do you have on your mustang? How much is the drop?
Hey man I just installed my BMR springs and panhard bar on my 14 5.0. I’m getting some strange vibration when I’m laying into it. No crazy noise just feels like something is out of balance.
Does this just add more vibrations? I have verified no tire rub and no parts are loose.
I haven’t done an alignment yet I’m going to get that done this weekend. I’m hoping that cures it.
Just looking for your two cents.
Thanks dude!
Does the panhard bar have to be installed at the same time as the lowering springs ? Or can it be installed at a different time ?
what are the specs on the wheels dude? im feeling them after seeing your mom and your mustang with these verdes
Hers are 19x8.5 and 9.5 I believe and mine are 20x9 and 20x10.5. 100% that’s mine but idk hers for sure
@@JacobRDoty Thanks man, your'e the truth!!! you are always approachable! keep doing you
Another dope video man 🙌🏼✊🏼
Thanks dude!
If I lowered a 2014 GT with just BMR springs and the panhard bar would I need to upgrade anything else?
Mustang people I need advice. Would you consider a prior salvage 11 gt with 96k for $9000 a good deal?
Ahhh I try and stay away from salvage especially in performance cars. Maybe your daily driver you can get away with it, but something you want to be straight and true and dialed in, no thank you!
Jacob R. Doty Appreciate the response! It is actually a prior flood damaged car so no physical damage but it was claimed over a year ago. Thinking if it checks out good now then I’d like to believe it’d be fine.
Aww man flood damage can cause lots of issues in the long run with wiring and electronics. Critical components. I'd save and just try and find a clean one man.
Jacob R. Doty Yeah that’s kinda what I’m thinking. Thanks man!
No issues with mine. Owner left both windows open, to their surprise upon returning. 1” water on floorboard. Bought the car as flood/salvage. $8500….. Mustang 2013 GT Premium. My daily driver with 80k miles. Best deal in town not planning on selling cuz I know not much value but more value to me 😊
Is that the Ford strut tower brace?
That’s the factory one
@@JacobRDoty nice! My 12 by doesn't have one. Any specific you would recommend?
What size wheels and tires where on the car? I have bmr springs too that lower 1.5 all around, I’m not sure it’ll clear very well. I have 245/35r20 front and 285/35r20 rear on my 2014
RaceRed302 255/40/19 and 275/40/19.
You should be just fine. It’s really going to be dependent on the wheel offset
Jacob R. Doty yeah not too sure what the offset is but the tires stick out a tad bit. So I’m worried I’ll mess up my fenders and tires, I have the BMR drag springs too, 1.5” drop all around
Jacob R. Doty yeah not too sure what the offset is but the tires stick out a tad bit. So I’m worried I’ll mess up my fenders and tires, I have the BMR drag springs too, 1.5” drop all around
RaceRed302 dude 1.5 is nothing also 285s are small
I have 10.5 inch wheels on the back with 305s? If I do this do you know if I'll have any rubbing issues?
Kind of dumb question hah but why why you cut the bump stops?
With lowering springs you're effectively making the suspension travel less than stock. if you keep them there's a change on harsher bumps it can hit them. Not super terrible if it does, it's what they're they're for but it can be a harsh hit and upset the chassis in a turn potentially being dangerous. Takes all of 10 seconds with a nice utility knife and prevents that.
Jacob R. Doty awe okay, no wonder I been feeling the harsh bump hits, ima do that then since mine lowered to. Thanks man!
@@cesartorres9842 No problem brotha
Is the mustang color tungsten gray?
#DOTYGANGG!
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Awesome work!! Love the hat!! 😍 #dotygang #Mamadoty #Stella #LadyDriver #16piecesofflair
if budget isn't an issue here. would you rather go for coilovers instead?
Yes. This is the factory strut and shock so you won’t improve performance too crazily. I’d go with a nice setup by like fortune auto. Customizable for your specific setup and use
I installed bmr drag springs and panhandbar but I hear alot of squeaky noise and weird noises, feels like something is going to brake tbh Haha what you think it is? Anyone.
Amilcar Pineda Turn up the radio and go faster the noise will go away. lol
@Cris Carter I'll add more and see if that helps
@@gioi8892 lol my exhaust loud enough to block it out but when I cruise little bumps 🙄 sound like it's going to brake lol
Make sure everything is tight. You may think it is, but it isn't. When it's on jack stands and safe to do so, grab different components and shake to feel for any looseness or vibration to replicate. I used to have a whiteline panhard bar and it was loose causing some clunking at low speeds.
@Cris Carter Lol yeah man trust me I had to do plenty of suspension stuff by hand before getting this tool. The wrench set I have was bought for my first coilover install years and years ago. Then you just keep adding tools along the way
So umm I ordered the exact same lowering spring but I didn’t get a Panhard Rod you really need one ? Lol
Yes to fully center the rear axle
cut the bumpstop??? That's my only gripe. its two bolts. you couldve removed it if it was in the way. i dont think that was a good decision especially considering the car is being lowered. that exactly what its for.
How much does this help out your 60 foot?
The LCAs probably do the most. These are the BMR Handling springs...they have BMR Drag Springs specifically made for drag racing. The ones installed in this video are most beneficial for handling around turns
Great video as usual. I was wondering what coil spring compressors are you using. Or do you have any idea of a good choice to buy. Thanks
What inch drop are these springs?
Says 1.5" all around
@@JacobRDoty is the car still settling in? I just ask because I had 1" drop springs that settled in to around 1.25" after driving.
@@davidwarden6011 very well could be! There isn't even 1 mile total on these springs in this video. They may settle after a few days
@@JacobRDoty just becareful, watch your tires, especially with weight transfer under acceleration. I chewed my tires up and had to do a roll and pull.
These aren’t nearly that aggressive. Won’t come anywhere near the tires on her setup. Mine is much more aggressive as I have 20s. She’s on 19s and less wide
Is This a 2 Inch Drop ???
I think 1.5” all around
What size wheels?
Bro why is my rear passenger tire losing tread right in the middle of the tire
Bring back the “yo yo yo”
Throwback intro 🧐🧐🧐
That e30 though 🥵😍
great job.
Thank you!
Could you drop the web ???
Looking good! keep up the videos! only mustang guy who i can relate to well!
Thanks brotha ! I appreciate that!
🤙🤙🤙 welcome bro! got a black sticker of yours on my blacked out stang it looks dope i loved the signature on it! worth every penny and more
Where did u and ur mom get ur mustangs ??
Two different places. I got mine from a private party and she got hers from a Ford dealership
How much would you charge me to slam my 13?
Literally perfect height
Should have gone Whiteline...Watts link=game over
These cars need suspension work so bad from the factory. Sad part is, even after a 1.5-2 inch drop on these cars, it still only looks like how it should have come from the factory lol.
Agreed. They came 4x4 looking lol
moms is badass lmao 100
Lowering a car makes the ride shit honestly
Not at all actually, I'm way more confident in turns with these springs. Before I would hit a bump in a turn and the ass end would skirt out. Not anymore!! 😊
Very good DIY video. Didn't showed shit
nice
