Going to Topsfield Fair today!
See ya there!
Sorry we did not see this until today, we would have made a shout out to you! Hope you had a great time listening to our music.
I saw them in Rolla, MO last night. The show was awesome. The youngest member reminds me so much of my grandson!
LOL Linda! Their music is as relevant today as it was in the past because of people like you. Thank you for your attendance and continued support to keep this "awesome" music alive! :)
i saw the show tonight in youngstown oh.. it was amazing.. the coasters and the platters also played.. greatest show i have ever seen..
Yes, it's the "trifecta" of GREAT music!!!
Saw the show in Lexington Kentucky last night and it was excellent. So professional and so many great songs. The audience went wild
Thank you Greg. The Drifters literally perform, "The American Songbook" where just about everyone of any age knows the words, they just didn't know it was originally from The Drifters! :)
There is a difference between "legal" and "real". These are not the "recording" Drifters. the guys who are actually on the original recordings. Yes, this is a legal "Drifters" act because back in the late 50's the Drifters manager trademarked the name and though he is long gone his family inherited the name for legal purposes and they have put together a number of "Drifters" bands over many years sometimes several at once. "Legal" doesn't make it any better than a Drifters tribute act no matter how good they are. They are not alone with this racket. There are "legal" versions of many bands with no original recording members. It's a shame.
Using your words, the "real" / "legal" Drifters can advertise, market, and/or promote their shows as The Drifters, as opposed to The Drifters featuring Ray Dandy or Ray Dandy & The Drifters. I hope this clears up any misconceptions. Thank you for your time in commenting.
Hoping for the "real deal", maybe younger family members...nothing wrong with new blood...we all age...no escape from it.
Make new memories from wonderful old tunes!
Where is Luddy Sams?
I just saw "The Drifters" last night. Who exactly did I see?
Yes, GREAT show last night. Glad you were there. Sounds like, according to you, you saw "The Drifters!!!!"
But what group of guys?
Can anyone update? Supposedly i met one of the last standing drifter in York PA just two years ago. Can anyone confirm
There are approximately 1 dozen groups with the name "drifters" in them, e.g. Robert and the drifters or the drifters featuring Robert. Only this group in the USA can be advertised, promoted, and marketed as, The Drifters! Hope that helps?
@@MarkSonderCSEP If you saw one of the hit record recording Drifters then it could only be Bobby Hendricks, Charlie Thomas,Rick Sheppard, Butch Leake, Clyde Brown or Joe Blunt. These are the only recording members of the 3 eras of the Drifters still alive today. Apart from several archive clips of true Drifters Members sneakily include in this video none of those others appearing in this video have actually been recording members of the hit making Drifters. They have only been members of offshoot groups of which there are so many ripping off the unsuspecting public . (From a follower of the Drifters since 1953 when I first heard Clyde Mcphatter ,(the man around who the Drifters were formed ) singing Money Honey.)
Please see my reply which has mistakenly been added to the reply you received from the poster of this video. If you wish to know any information on the true Drifters there are several publications by former recording member Butch Leake . Please join the Facebook group “The Drifters Legends Clubhouse”.
@@MarkSonderCSEP I watched drifters in Peterborough england last night are they the only ones to be acknowledged ?
@@colinhamlet2425 There are only two legal Drifters in the world. One in England and the other serving the USA. That is the one in which you see in this video that we sell to our clients around the country.
Negativity breeds negativity. Quit doing that, life will be better. 😊
Not sure what your message means. Hope you enjoyed the show last night?
not the real Drifters, there are to many groups called the Drifters
Please do your research. When you do you will find this is The Drifters. Promoters, venues, etc. can advertise, promote, and market this group as The Drifters. Here in the USA you cannot do that with any other groups, such as Chris & The Drifters or The Drifters feat. Chris, etc. I hope that addresses your very legitimate concern as it is confusing to the public.
If one of them leaves the group, would they accept a white singer as a replacement? The tribute is to the music not the skin colour. It is ilegal to recruit based on skin colour. Same goes for ABBA tribute bands and alike.
Aswer please..!
I bet it all goes quiet now.
I’ve seen variations of this band use white members
@@drethomas72
All credit to them. Thanks for your reply. I'm in the music profession and some things are swept over quietly.
What a load of crap.
Thank you Mr. Gretton for your opinion. Fortunately, others may differ from you. We hope you continue to enjoy The Drifters music wherever you get it from or listen to it.
This band is confusing
Hello Ms. Andrea and thank you for taking the time to watch, listen, and comment. Please let me know how I can clear up your confusion.
@@MarkSonderCSEP ok. So, my husband and I saw the Drifters in Folsom Sunday night. Awesome show but I didn’t know too much about the band. At intermission, I took to the internet to see what these gentlemen looked like when they were younger- every picture I saw was of a different group of guys. It also stated that The Drifters are touring the UK. The guys right in front of me said they are all from Vegas. But the description on the ticket said they were t a tribute band and managed by the Treadwell family. I’m confused
@@MarkSonderCSEP although the guy in the intro, Jerome, was at the show I watched. He was great. Where can we see that group of gentlemen again?
@@drethomas72 Hello again. We may have a public event happening in Vegas coming up, but as most of our engagements are private corporate, associations, or social shows, you would need an invitation from the host/promoter.
@@MarkSonderCSEP yeah we just saw The Drifters featuring Jerome at the Harris theater in Folsom, CA. Still, my questions remain unanswered. Did I see a tribute band?
Johnny Moore was the drifters and all the rest that came after Johnny are just pretenders and , sadly , not very good ones , they murder the classics and need to stop living off the real drifters name and drift onto some other kind of work that doesn't include singing and destroying classic hits sang by the one and " Johnny Moore "
Seeing them tonight with my husband and dad! We are all so excited!!! :)
+Alexandra Ortiz Enjoy! It will be another great one.

Mark Sonder, CSEP any chance of seeing them in England soon? I would like my elderly mother to see them one last time.
Technically, Stand By Me was a Ben E. King hit, not the Drifters. I'd love to see the group. I'm in Toledo OH. Are the Drifters going to be close to me?
