Still rocking the Supply 2.0 because of your review! And since then I started throwing ice on my face after the shave and that sir... was life-changing!!
Thank you. I have the Supply SE and so far I'm underwhelmed but I'm realizing I don't know what I'm doing yet. Glad that you have the same experience. And yes, I need to do that ice trick!
Just to let everyone know... Supply has just changed their return policy to no longer pay for return shipping. Instead they are going to offer you a certain percentage off of their products if you decide to keep them. They Offered me 50% off but I still wanted to return them so they tried to make me pay for return shipping on my own. Luckily they had not updated their website where it stated "Free USA Shipping & Returns For all orders over $35." I pointed this out to the gentleman in chat and he sent me a prepaid return shipping label.
I always ended up bloody when shaving with the 2.0 and it’s plates and was ready to throw away my supply razor the last time 2 weeks ago when I decided to get the SE plate. It was life changing going to the se plate as I didn’t have nearly as many nicks on my neck as I did with the 2.0 and it saved me from tossing the razor. So happy about that.
I agree the first pass is very rough and not close at all. And that's why I'm returning mine. I think I need to try the pro for something more aggressive.
You can buy the Phillips one blade trimmer get as close as you can with that shave to get the thicker hairs, then do your passes with this SE safety razor
Isn't that how the SE is designed to operate? In their own tutorial they advocate for a 2 pass shave system. Personally I love the lather on my face so no qualms 2nd passing it
Oh, yes. A genuine badger brush is better than a hand-me-down synthetic. Since you have a great brush take that synthetic with you for a travel brush. I’ve been curious about the Supply razors since before you tried the first one. So I enjoyed this shaventure (shaving adventure-I don’t think it’s made it into the official dictionary yet). It looks like you have a fairly coarse beard. Is there any way to change the lower plate or blade type to make it more aggressive? Don’t fear an aggressive razor. Just remember pull, don’t push. Pull the razor lightly along and don’t push it against the skin. With a DE razor it’s easy to just try a different blade to go a little more aggressive. I’m not sure what options exist for that razor. If any. And I agree with you that from a design standpoint, its a stunner. Another terrific video!
Love seeing your comments! Yes I think for me I can go more aggressive. I think this razor is meant for someone coming over to single edge for the first time. Also yes my hair is coarse so the supply pro I think I’m going to prefer. But I really love these razors in general. I think we need to add shaventure to the dictionary! Thanks for watching and the support. Always a pleasure!!!
Thank you!!! I needed to read this. My first shave video shows I shaved with oil only for years. I do like the lather but love knowing others have the same impatience. It’s also not nearly as important as guys think.
What did you think about that little knob/button on this Supply SE? I think that button is great to just remove the part to of the razor’s head to clean the inside, which is convenient, but I’m not crazy about how the turning of the button/knob feels. It’s not a smooth turn that comes to a stop, turning it doesn’t feel good quality. How long is that spring on it going to last? And it’s hard to tell when you should stop tightening it and know when you should stop tightening it. What were your thoughts about that? And can you use regular double edge razors to pop in half and insert in this Supply Co. SE Razor? Thanks:)
Just wondering. What are the advantages/disadvantages of single sided blade shaving? I have a couple DE, and don’t really get the point of the single side razors. If someone can make a compelling argument, I would strongly consider getting the razor in this video.
I feel the advantages aren’t crazy nor the disadvantages. I like the feel of supply. The injector design is also….cool, to put it that subjective. I think it’s about difference not better or worse.
The whole idea is that DE razors cause ingrown hair. With DE razors, one pass means you're letting the razor pass that area of the skin multiple times depending on how many blades/edges there are. Contrastingly, single edged razors are meant to reduce the amount of times the edges pass through your skin. In reality, you would never get a clean shave from the first pass, so you end up doing multiple passes anyways. I wouldn't say SE Razors completely fix the issue but it really does help significantly with my ingrown facial hair issue. Hope this helps :)
I want some chinos/joggers that are casual but can be dressed up in skinny/slim for under 150. Where should I look? I plan to wear them with huaracha sandals, white tennis shoes, and maybe maybe loafers
Thanks for the question. Under 150 you have plenty of options. I’d want to know more about what you really like. Do you like a tech pant or more classic chinos? I will say the most important is the fit. I love a pant with no break that lies well on the leg. www.clubmonaco.com/en/men-clothing-pants/sutton-hemp-blend-pants/620469.html. I know right above the 150, but goodness those are nice.
@FashionableFathet i just found your channel, and started following you. Good video on this product. I look forward seeing past and future video's of yours.
I got the impression that the SE is more comfortable, but not as close of a shave as the 2.0 'classic' setting. Is that how you would describe it as well? I've tried both and I seem to like the classic / aggressive from the 2.0 over the SE.
@@FashionableFather And here I thought I was the problem for a while because it has been said to have a comparable shave. I can't get it with the new SE though. I have to do a 3 pass to even get a nice shave. 1-2 passes is just an ok, maybe a barely passable shave. I totally like the older version better and think all of the new models should at least ship with the classic setting in the box. At the end of the day though, if it was between this or a cartridge razor, it wouldn't be a cartridge razor.
Would this be your top recommendation for someone with sensitive who is tired of dealing withe the irritation from cartridge razors? Anything that else I should consider?
I believe getting away from multiblade cartridge will help in general. This Supply SE is a great first razor for such. Its not super close and you'll get a feel for single edge shaving. Take a look at my leaf video; that's a great beginner razor as well.
shaving seems to be a chore with this razor. You went at least two rounds to have a clean shave, and every round was multiple strokes at any point of your cheek. I spend 2-3 minutes for shaving. Most of the time it's 1-2 strokes at any point of my cheek and a single round of foam or gel. The 6-blade brand product that I use seems to be way more efficient. so thank you for the review, I'll give it a pass.
If you're talking about a cartridge razor as the 6-blade, I would still recommend trying this SE and possibly getting the additional 'classic' shave setting from the 2.0 when you order. I like the 2.0 considerably more as it seems that you can get a one pass reasonable shave. You do have to be more careful with the 2.0 (looks like the pro setup without all the mechanisms) as it is easier to cut yourself if you are not experienced. Just let the weight of the razor do the work and find your angle which is easy to do and you will be gold. You can also try the High Proof Razor that takes a half Double Edge blade. It is about twice as expensive but they offer a lifetime guarantee and you can return it whenever if you are not satisfied with it. I really like that one because it and the 2.0 has a very similar feel as far as aggressiveness, but you get cheaper blades and more options for blade selection later. If you do a multi pass shave with it, I think it does get closer than the Supply razor. It also has one major benefit for those that are coming from cartridge razor, a flexible head so you don't have to find your angle. I personally like the fixed head. If I could have the High Proof Razor with a fixed head, that would probably be the best razor ever... next to the straight razor
@@FashionableFather What I am shaving with isn't the point. I am not advocating for another brand. This razor does not, in my experience, give a close shave. The company does not respond to requests to return the razor, hence my call-out. And, I am relaxed and breathing fine.
@@joelfalter5718 comin in hot dropping the “bs”. Figured you needed a lil coolin off. Another razor would be nice to know for context and comparison, but you do you.
I believe that this razor is not meant to shave the closest to the skin due to the fact that it’s try not to cause irritation, or ingrown hairs for people who are vulnerable to those now you buy the 2.0 model. Maybe that’s a different story and a close shave

Might be, blades have a huge impact.
Try Parker’S adjustable injector which is cheap and effective
