Just be patient with me my laptop has been acting up lately. That is the reason things are moving a little slow at the moment. XG Vox #5 is a must; the Vox tracks are for the vocalists what the Tapes are for the rapline. XG Move #1, the very first video XG released ever, pre debut. It's "just" the girls dancing for 90 seconds, but ... well there is a good reason to recommend it. Shooting Star as their signature song also has high priority. Hesonoo & X-Gene. Left Right. Well ... actually everything. One thing they don't know how to do it ... they can't make a bad song. ............ Ok for good measure I'll also throw in another group, the only other girl group from the "idolsphere" I can really root for. You may take a look at NMIXX, specifically their latest comeback tracks, Dash and Run For Roses.
The "mad genius"-level mastermind behind the group is Simon Jakops (stage name - he is half JApanese half KOrean Producer Simon ... and was actually born in the US) who was himself a successful K-Pop idol some 10 to 15 years ago. Simon's vision was and is to use the training methods of K-Pop idols to form something new - an "idol" group to break all idol stereotypes and make western style rap and R&B oriented pop music. Since they trained for five years together before even making their debut, they all have an exceptionally strong bond with each other (to quote a line, pack of 7 equal 1), but also with Simon who is much more than just their manager - he is mentor, trainer, father figure, producer, guardian, manager, all at the same time. You'd have to watch their documentary series Xtra Xtra, in which they go through the whole trainee period; they don't sugarcoat the hardships of that period at all, it's very emotional, but watching this you understand how strong their bond REALLY is. You won't get any of this, not even close, with any western group. And that's another thing that is the beauty of XG - one thing that Simon was very careful choosing the group was balance. And you can really put any combination of a duo or a trio of them together, it will always work.
Maya and Chisa are my biases. Chisa sings like you're in heaven and the voice of a Goddess. Maya does it all. Chisa is the Ariana Grande of Japan. Amy Jannett Harvey is her full name, and it sounds American bc she's half Australian and half Japanese. XG is the best GG since TLC. They are a combination of TLC, Destiny's Child, and Spice Girls. Like Jackson Wang said, XG is the future. These ladies perfected their craft training for those 5 years, and it shows in everything they do. They make nothing but bangers and slay everything they do. Just a matter of time before they blow-up world wide.
Waiting for your take on this one. I think you need to check out their “ First take” live recording and “ it’s live” SInging with a live band. Then you get to hear them “live” for real.

Thank you for taking the time to watch the video! I can see that they have truly built a relationship up between all the learning process of building this group. It shows in the work and even in the short videos of them do their unboxings, and fan oriented events. I definitely get the friendship between them, and it does feel genuine too.
Yes, that is sonfreaking cool. I wish that as an American, we were taught multiple languages in our youth. The would would be a much cooler place of understanding atleast.
This one is my favorite of the Tapes. It's just smooth all the way through and the beat reminds of something Gangstarr would have rapped on. Loved the beats he used back in the day.
