Funny you should ask. Back in 1984 I went with a friend of mine to inspect his site with the intent of purchasing it. I remember that all his machine equipment was Swiss made as he only wanted the best of everything. I also recall that everything was fire-proof due to a earlier incident in his life and that all the buildings where coated in asbestos to prevent any such future occurrences. A fascinating man. Certainly worthy of a documentary.
@@lesliedycke9795 Just watched a Vimeo vid interview with Jeff O'Kelly whose mother was Vernon Pick's assistant. He mentions Mr. Pick spending a lot of time in Switzerland.
@@bumblerock4048 Yes he loved everything Swiss. All his lathes and other machinery was virtually all Swiss made. If I remember correctly he eventually passed away in Switzerland following treatment there for Cancer.

Been up through this country, fascinating. One thing I noticed was all the old mini cemeteries along the way!
He said at today's prices (1990) that Golden Cache discovery was yielding $10K per ton. Now in 2021, that would be around $45K per ton!
