Love your new hair, the colour suits you so well, can't wait to see what it looks like when you wear it with your natural curls! If you're after a crochet shawl, I am eyeing up the Intermission (i believe that's what it's called), it's defined for a main skein and multicoloured minis used in a fade sequence. Enjoy x
That scarf is giving Scrooge at the end of Muppet Christmas Carol and I'm obsessed. Also the name of the knot you attached the tassels with is a Larks Head Knot. Am very excited for the Midland Cardigan pattern release x
Love your haircut.Sweet! I enjoy your podcasts and vlogs very much. Love the Midland Neck and the Midland Cardigan and the Maxine sweater. All your patterns are beautiful. Your energy in your videos is so breezy and cheerful. Great episode Laura! Keep the wonderful designs coming! Happy making! Love Katie from Maine USA 💕🧶
SO EXITED for the whole Midland range! I bought some red yarn to make myself a Midland neck, can t wait for the pattern!!!! It looks so amazing!!! Also looking forward to vlogmas!!!!!!1
It's alway a goos day when I get to see a video from you dear Laura, and I cannot wait for the holidays to officially start and for vlogmas of course (I say "officially" cause I've been listening to Christmas music and watching past vlogmases for quite a while now, but I'm so ready to decorate and bake and feel all the delightful christmassy vibes😍) See you next week then!❤❤
Great episode again, thank you for the inspiration ☺️ and congratulations on the publication, that is so cool! Suggestions for shawls in a fade: Gotham Knits (Olga Fahim on ravelry) has some nice shawl designs. Also New Leaf Designs published a free lace shawl some years ago, the Cosy Moments shawl, that might be a match too 🙂
So excited for your Vlogmas! I love watching all of your vlogs. I have a Fibre Fox Advent too. I’m making the Grand Opening Shawl. I actually started early since I have 2 advents. I’m really loving it. It’s broken down into 24 sections and alternated between garter and something new, it’s been so fun and very doable to complete one section a day and this fade is perfection!! I was the same way as soon as I saw it fading to gray and black I was sold ❤
What a lovely surprise seeing you highlight my Breaking Dawn! My sister actually made one in set of green minis but I don’t think there’s a picture of it anywhere. Your Soufflé is just so lovely and I adore the new hair! ❤
@@annijuutiknits thank you dear! Honestly the moment I saw the Breaking Dawn it was the front runner for advent knitting!! Still haven’t found anything I like more! If I find I still have yarn left, would you say it would be possible to make it bigger by repeating sections? X
ugh your teasing us with a mitten pattern with 20g mini skeins right before advent season😫 but I totally understand wanting to take your time with it, I'll be crossing my fingers that time works out in your favour❤
@@_laurapenrose_ you enjoying the holiday season and taking time to rest and be with family is much more important!❤Don't stress your process, I'll save some miniskeins especially for this pattern😉
I absolutely love your new haircolor. It is absolutely stunning and brings out your features beautifully. The midland neck is lovely on you too, especially with the brown hair.
Red looks so good on you! Thank you for the recommendations, I immediately got excited to knitting first cable sweater by Celine knits! Can't wait for vlogmas 😃😃
Thank you so much for another joyful video. If you want to crochet with your advent yarn, the "Midnight Jasmine Wrap" could be lovely. I will knit the sweet shop blanket with my Zakami advent. Can't wait for the first of december.
Loving the hair Laura. Enjoy yotur podcasts and just purchased your new fairisle sweater pattern ♥️purchased the Zakhami advent and just deciding on a pattern so will keep eyes peeled on suggestions 😉xx
Love the new hair, looks so good with the red scarf and red souffle! I vote for you to use the Breaking Dawn shawl pattern, because you said the advent colours give you a "twilight-y" vibe, and the last book in the Twilight series is Breaking Dawn 😂Congrats on the upcoming publication, and I'm so excited for the Midland Cardigan release!
I love your energy in all your creative endeavors. Another shawl you might like is The Stillness Shawl by Helen Stewart. I’ve made that and it’s one of my most worn makes. She has some that are specifically for mini skeins, 12 birds is a half circle while 24 birds is a full circle that can be folded over. And I wanted to tell you I made the Great Love cardigan after watching you work on your husband’s Big Love. Glad I caught that the biceps were small. Lots of the makers said the same thing in their project notes. Saved me a lot of frustration.
Love the new hair. ❤ The double midland style is fab! I vote for the Breaking Dawn shawl. Suggestion for a crochet shawl: Erigeneia by Silke Terhorst. I am so looking forward to Vlogmas! Eeeeeee 🤗 ~Kat
Stunning hair colour! It looks so great on you, much better than the one you had before (and even that one wasn't bad). Also, I can't wait for Vlogmas! Last year's got me through some longggg nursing sessions so I think this year's is going to be special in a different kind of way. :)
Hello, I was thinking that maybe you could use you "too big mittens" as an outer layer for the new mittens you will made and then you have a two layer mitten for colder days. Looking forward to vlogmas!
Oh no, you completely knitfluenced me!! I was set on my advents (3 knitting, 6 other) and then I saw you recommend the Fibre Fox... you actually influenced me last year and I bought it extremely last minute then too! just to confirm... 10 advents isn't too much... right? :P
I think it's hilarious how we saw your husband's luxurious red scarf and then next thing we knew, we were seeing another miniature red scarf for the geese! 😅
so excited for vlogmas!! just rewatched the previous years. Purl Soho does have a free pattern for a hood scarf which I was just looking into, their version is 2x2 rib
Would recommend the Da Light Shawl by Laura Nelkin! Would really make use of the fade. It has some harder sections and then some large stitch sections.
Your Soufflé looks lovely, but I agree that compared to your original short sleeve version it does look too big. If you're happy with the oversized fit I say keep it, but I think you were hoping for a more fitted Soufflé to go with your wide leg sparkly pants. The red looks stunning with your hair ❤ Of the shawls you showed, my vote is for Anniina's shawl hands down!
The creabea has a shawl made for advents called the daft days shawl and it is gorgeous! I have the fibre fox advent as well and can imagine it fading beautifully in that pattern !
Laura Penrose Watch episode 149 Fruity Knitting there's an excellent Knitting book recommendation which you may want to promote on your next UA-cam it's only in Geman but if get enough support it will hopefully be published In English it's about illnesses and benefits of knitting
Your mittens are gorgeous. You could wear a super thin pair of gloves inside them and it grips them and would stop them from moving and add to the warmth.
Love those fingerless mitts Laura. I can see that the stocking stitch rolls at the top, but is the cast on the same? I can’t quite see. Lovely podcast, so cheerful! xx
Purl soho has a free pattern for a scarf hood that looks like that gerda garn pattern you were looking at! I found it thru someone on tiktok recently and also wanna make it
Because of you, I bought The Fibre Fox calendar this year! I’m making The Habitation Throw with it and I’m very excited! I love your knits and your inspirations… but I have to know where your long sleeve top is from? It fits you fantastically! ❤
I use a felting needle on the magic knots to keep them from coming undone. The fabric glue leaves a stiffness that isn’t pleasant, whereas a couple/few jabs with the needle doesn’t. I tested out various fibers with the felting needles and there wasn’t anything I tried that they wouldn’t felt, from wool to cotton to acrylic and everything in between. The only thing I didn’t try was silk and I suspect it would work same as everything else. I use them for making sure woven in ends don’t slide out, for closing up that annoying hole at the corner of heels and thumb gussets, all sorts of uses!
Love your videos and so excited for the Maxine sweater!🤩 will you be releasing the sweater kits with woolly mammoth fiber? Can’t wait to knit the copper one!
Hi Laura, loved your podcast and cannot wait til you release your Midland Cardigan. Just wanted to ask, you said you cast on 70 stitches for your beautiful red scarf, was that in total or each side please ?
The moment I have seen you I need to comment - you look fabulous in your new hair! And I definitely need to make the Midland Cardigan.
I would so totally slightly felt those mittens!! They would be smaller and denser solving both issues 😊 They are super cute!
You are a true soul sister. Knitting the stellar cushion in Stratford Ontario Canada as I care for my Mother.

@ definitely possible! It’s actually a really nice idea because it’s not a huge shawl. I think you would like the moreish nature of it. 😇
Watched all of those ads! Hope it helps 😂 I love watching your podcasts and work! So good! Keep it up.
As thank you!!! The new computer was not a cost id expected to bear this year so it is greatly appreciated!! 😘😘😘
I actually was so inspired by your shawl last year that I’m planning to do the what the fade with my fibrefox advent this year 😂

The Maxine is beautiful, thank you for the code, I just got it! ❤ You're looking lovely 🌹

I’m hoping to do the Berries & Baubles shawl by Sandra Paul with an advent. It’s beautiful and builds the border as you go
Love the Midland cardigan. You could add a mohair lining to your mittens, it would probably be warmer and snugglier.
The red soufflé with your new hair! Love the updates you've done to the pattern and I can't wait to make one 😊

Love the mittens! I wonder if you sewed in a fleece lining if that would improve the fit. It would also make them warmer!
I’d go for the breaking dawn. I can see why you was drawn to that ❤
Immediately when you came on I thought “what a great haircut “. You look fab!

Do you think elastic threaded through the cuff of your too large mittens would help?
Maybe you could knit a smaller pair of mits and wear them inside the bigger ones. That might protect your hands from the wind/cold.
Super excited for the midland dickie, any idea of aprox yardages of the two yarns as I want to get ahead of myself before the release
@@DoItEllieStyle not yet as the rest is still on going, I will share yardages before release over on Instagram though! X
