The amazon is one of the most simply described fairy chess pieces and as such has a long history and has gone by many names. It was first used in Turkish Great Chess, a large medieval variant of chess, where it was called the giraffe. Later, it was widely experimented with in the Middle Ages to replace the slow ferz, and it competed with the modern queen for this role; the modern queen eventually won out, as the amazon's power was deemed excessive. In Russia, the amazon persisted into the 18th century; some players disapproved of this ability to "gallop like the horse" (knight). The book A History of Chess by H. J. R. Murray, page 384, says that some Mr. Coxe, who was in Russia in 1772, saw chess being played with the amazon Amazon is used in Amazon Chess (Middle Ages), Great Chess - Indian / Turkish variant (
tbh i don't really think that's a fair analysis, if black had a better arrangement of pieces to avoid checkmate they have drawing-winning chances. even two bishops can force mate in one in the correct positions, and nobody claims they're worth 20 pawns
Comment down the "PIECE NAME"

Since black has 39 points at the beginning and 2 of this piece can't defeat black but 3 can, the value of this piece is between 13 and 20

@@melissamaitino3481 Yes I totally agree lol. It will be nice to make multiple experiments to rekon the value of this new piece
@@melissamaitino3481 3 of this piece guarantee you a win as white.. so i think he is right
It might be worth more if it could be split into multiple groups
it's the amazon, that ideas been done already
Maybe not. Can this piece jump when it makes a horsey move?
No, this one is much stronger
