He seems hella burnt out. His voice sounds like he nodding. And the way he talks is super disconnected. Def. not super smart. People love to call abstract thinkers smart.
It's Western culture and it's nothing new. We glorify and salute those who are 'different' even if they are miserable and lost. I can't deny that I have this same tendency... I can value Slug as a unique individual with valuable perspectives and pattern of thought. I believe that art in it's entirety is a very painful, disorganized, and chaotic field... just look beneath the surface. The people that are able to feel more, artists, tend to feel disproportionally bad. They can never seem to get their brains to work 'right' and this is for the most part unpleasant and unproductive.
That's the whole deal. These people are too fucked up to produce things typically as they're expected. They are in constant stages of being too high or too low. They say fuck it and create things completely unique, mostly garbage, but occasionally creating material of infinite worth...

Slug always keeps it real... Some of the shit he says is very relateable if you deal with similar problems. His music reached a special place in my life.

Damn watching Slug talk is a trip. He instantly enticed the people around him with some deep as talk about spirituality and some real shit. Dude sounds smart, sad to see him strung out. I can relate man I share the same views on spirituality and I love talking and enlightening people around me but im always getting distracted mid way through just like this dude, communication is just like mine, and I was a dope fiend too man. Thinking the way Slug does is a curse and a blessing, hope this dude gets healthy

"opiates help my creativity" "i can quit when im ready im strong willed" and then the most baffling to me "ive quit before i cold turkeyd in a hotel i can quit if i want but i just suffer from depression" then adam asked him how long were you clean "one day" pfffffff. dude slug christ my brother if youre reading this i can relate to your story in so many ways. using dope to numb yourself to the fucked up world. shooting dope is no joke my dude. idk if you use rigs yet but you will eventually. i used to think i needed it to go through life but im 4 months clean now and ill never look back. im no longer numb to life. i hear music stronger than ever. im painting and feeling creative inspiration more than ever. depression comes and goes but i accept it when it does come and i use it for inspiration for art or music. i dont want to sound preachy. i use to hate preachy people. but i just want you to know that life gets better. addiction fuels depression. best of luck my man
