I've been watching your videos since i was 9. I am sixteen now and you have really helped me advance as a musician. Thank you for being such an awesome teacher bro.
Dear Marty, I am absolutely over the moon that you're back. You taught me my first song (Time of you're life) back in 2012 and I hope you keep teaching and rocking as always.
Hey marty! When you went dark on other channels I was more than worried. Now when I saw a link to this new one I'm more than happy! Because a great teacher and musician came back and because I finally know that you are allright! Keep up the great work Sensei!
Thanks so much! Yes this is my new thing MartyMusic. this is where I'm making all new content all the time!!! Thanks for finding me and I am doing great!
If I may, I also want to ask for making tutorials for some songs. If they are already on this channel then sorry, I took a look few moments ago: Sound of Silence, Call of Ktulu(Metallica), maybe Phantom of the opera? I saw few good guitar versions, but I wonder if you can make your own interpretation in form of tutorial? I don't know why but when I see most of the internet turorials, I barely can play something similar. Your tutorials are great and the way you show everything makes me play most of the things without a problem. Also I saw a lot of times how you are repeating whole song or some parts of it, I really enjoy that, I can just take my guitar and work on rythm and speed simultaneously. That is really helpful.
Great! You came back with many new songs, lesson, techniques .Keep it up and thanks for taking all the efforts for creating the thousands of guitar lessons you've taught us!! :P
How about Sturgill Simpson? In most of his up tempo songs he's not just strumming chords. It's a lot more interesting sound than your typical country and I'd like to learn more about what he's doing.
I'm thinking of all these classics: Bonnie Tyler (It's A Heartache, Total Eclipse) or Juice Newton (Queen of Hearts), Kim Carnes' Bette Davis Ojos. Anyway, great to have you back! Can I get a witness? lol
+Marty Music - Your style is perfect for teaching and you offer a lot of really quality instruction. In addition, any of the songs from Nathaniel Raitleff are good, especially Need Never Get Old. Two others I'd like you to consider are: Elbow - Grounds For Divorce Billy Idol - Plastic Jesus Keep up the great work!
Dear Marty, I love this tutorial. Especially I like the trick you're doing at 4:15 where you're sliding down the low E string - I'd love to be able to do this, too! I have no idea though what this trick is named, and searching for stuff like "guitar sliding trick tutorial" on UA-cam doesn't get me the wanted results. Would you mind creating a tutorial about such tricks that you can just drop into any played song to spice it up some more? Thanks a lot.
Hey Marty! I love you man. You're my go to guy. Not sure if you have done any songs by the band Spoon but I'm sure you'd love Britt Daniel's stuff if you're not familiar. There's a bad ass recording of him playing "Black Like Me" backstage for a journalist you should watch but check out "I summon You" and "The Underdog" by them also
I'm not sure what I could request that's new in country. As someone who mostly listens to country, I don't listen to much after the 2000's. I haven't even heard this song. I really like the sound of Chris Stapleton's acoustic in the duet of "*You are my Sunshine*" with his wife. *Sweet Annie* and *Colder Weather* by the Zac Brown Band are alright, I guess. *Cast No Stones* by Cody Jinks is a good country song, but not mainstream. There are tons of good country songs from the 90's and earlier that you can't find good tutorials on that personally I want to learn. But I know they aren't your flavor.
Have you heard Stapeleton and his wife's version of Waylon Jenning's Amanda? Really good. Also, you didn't mention Sturgill Simpson, whom you might dig.
Yeah, I came across their version months back. That one blew me away too.. I actually looked up Sturgil Simpson's "You can have the crown" a couple of days ago. I really like his sound, the vocals and instruments. A few of the lyrics turn me off for personal reasons, like the ones about drugs and possibly making a deal with the devil. But there are other lyrics in there that I really like, like "They call me King Turd up here on Shit Mountain, if you want it you can have the crown" and "I'm tired of y'all playing dress up and trying to play them old country songs". I haven't listened to his other songs yet. I plan on listening to more. I've somewhat recently came across another artist I like, named Cody Jinks. I haven't listened to a lot of him, but there are two of his songs that I think are pretty good.
Thanks so much for your great guitar lessons. You mentioned in this video you were open to song suggestions. Any chance you can do Hand of the Almighty by John Butler?
I've watched a lot of your green day videos from your old Chanel, but I was sad when you didn't have Jesus of suburbia and I feel that a lot of other teachers of guitar on UA-cam arnt as good as you. Could you possible do Jesus of suburbia?
I've been a big fan have learned a lot thanks to your videos... thank you and would you do a tutorial on silly world by stone sour? it's a good song for acoustic and maybe last of the real by stone sour as well? it's a sweet electric song... anyway keep up the good work and I'll keep watching lol
Marty You're money Man Money ! Thanks for everything ! Would you do some Old school Dr. Hook tunes ? You're the best teach and they are hard to find Carry me Carrie .......Everyone's making it big but me ......take your pic So many great tunes Thank you Sir Wade
He's playing in E. A number of sites show it in F. Why is that? What is the actual key of the original? Is the choice a matter of what plays easier on the guitar? I do it on piano, so it's all the same to me in terms of ease of fingering. I don't know guitar, but I've heard that transposing to an easier fingering is common with guitar. All thoughts appreciated.
If you play it with the capo on the first and want to play with the song, you will have to play it with a F, Bb, and C. Different approach to play with the record I think.
The capo changes the key. Marty is playing in F# for this version. Even though you are using finger shape of E,A,B7 you are playing F#,B,C7 with the capo. Not sure what the recording is.
Hey Marty. Subscriber here. Love your stuff. Anything by Dead South. They are a fun band. Check out "In Hell I'll be in Good Company " or "Recap" or anything. Thanks for all you do.
nice but wrong cords, with kapo its all 7cords; e7 a7 b7in the last you play E and then A but thats is not oke, its B7 and A7, that just what you not expect but just the nice thing about this song
I know you're a great musician, but this is terrible.. this is the wrong NRNS song to make a video on.. Wasting Time and Hey Mama come to mind. (Yes I know Hey Mama didn't exist when this video was released)
I've been watching your videos since i was 9. I am sixteen now and you have really helped me advance as a musician. Thank you for being such an awesome teacher bro.
Marty, please, please do more of these songs by Nathaniel. Please. Hes such a good artist.
Dear Marty,
I am absolutely over the moon that you're back. You taught me my first song (Time of you're life) back in 2012 and I hope you keep teaching and rocking as always.
Man the wear on the fretboard of that guitar is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen today. I see that and think of nothing other than dedication.
Marty, I would be overwhelmed with joy if you taught some Lake Street Dive songs. I can't find many lessons and I love their music. Thank you.
Thanks Noah!
I just recently got into Nathaniel Ratelift. I should have known my "go to guitar guru" Marty would have it! Love the channel!
Your scat is awesome and entertaining. All the jazz singers would be proud.
Still out there running is what needs
shown PLEASE 🙏

Hey I know its not a guitar song but Ive always wanted to play Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp. Some of the acoustic covers sound sick.
Outstanding Marty! Thank you!

I know you're a great musician, but this is terrible.. this is the wrong NRNS song to make a video on.. Wasting Time and Hey Mama come to mind. (Yes I know Hey Mama didn't exist when this video was released)
