Great piece of kit. I'm a Paramedic in urban area & I carry one of these with me every shift (have for about 5-6 years), It amazing for forced entry into vehicles & structures. 100% recommend.
LMAO glad I'm not the only one... Me and my buddy will sit around sniffing fatwood all day and raving about the different qualities of different pieces... And in northern Louisiana, we quite literally trip over the stuff walking around the woods
Loved your review. I've had this tool for twelve years now and it has surpassed any and all expectations. After over a decade of heavy use, I have yet to do more than inflict a few scratches on its surface. I keep it on the same belt as my bk9 in my truck and, so far, the pair are unstoppable.
Thanks for the post, have had one for years now and it's a beast IMO and definitely one to have in your collection~ PS...the butt knob can be used for sparking a fire!
1095 has got good edge retention and is relatively easy to Sharp but it's also more brittle even when perfectly tempered... are you sure it's not 1060 it has a better balance between edge retention and durability when properly tempered
DBK you guys need to modify the BK-3. Strip off the coating. Blue the steel. Replace the handles with better materials. Make the spine 90° sharp for fire steel scrapings. The cuthook is already good for smaller firesteels though.
Nice tool. I think it's right to call it a tool instead of a knife. It is a "knife-like" tool and I think it does what it came here to do, smash! Good vid, guys!
Have you guys heard of the Architect Field Buddy? It's a huge beast of a knife, US made, and CPM 3V, for 165 usd. The blades are made by TOPS and it's customizable on The Knife Connection. It's only a little more than this knife, but in 3V. Somehow nobody is talking about it
You guys make me laugh. I just purchased this knife because of this video. Never even heard this existed until now. I hope you keep doing what you're doing, because it's a freaking riot!!
I thoughtbabout getting one to keep in my pickup for camping. Possibly prying a car door open or popping out a window if needed. Very informative video. Great steel test.
Love your videos. You guys always hit the perfect blend of entertainment and information. I've been passing over the BK3 for what seems like forever. Now, I've got to have one! And I suspect I'm not alone. Ka Bar should give you two a commission.
Saw alot of knife destruction videos, most from some guy who thinks he's JCVD, but this is more than a stupid big piece of steel, this must come from Krypton or something, my mind is officially blown. Thanks guys for doing an awesome work as usual !
I own a crkt m60 softb since my 05deployment to Iraq. I used as boot knife and primarily used it for opening soda can tops for ashtrays. This knife reminds me of my daily flot mat carry I've always had on hand
I've had the 3 for about 7 years now. Its a beast and its still going strong. I once saw a video of a group of firefighters who destroyed a car with the 3. It was amazing!
Well you turned me on to this knife...er um tool... crowbar with an edge. You guys are funny and I like how you make this fun to watch as well as being informative. I'm going to buy this knife tool.
To use this knife/axe thingy on a ferrocenium rod you must first remove the coating on the spine and file the spine flat to a 90° edge, then it will spark very well... Cheers Mates... 😃👌👍🔥🔥🔥
Ive had my Ka-Bar USMC for 24 years now. Ive beat the hell out of it and its still in perfect condition except for wear and tear but the blade is still in tact. I scraped the finish off of mine and used gun blueing and I like it even better now. Still has the original leather handle.
I love my Beckers. Are they they sharpest most high speed steel? Nyet!!! But they always work. I keep a BK7 in the boot of my car. I take it out to keep it oiled since I stripped the coating.
That chopping! Reminds me of both my Terävä Skrama 240 and my MYparang duku chandong. Both will slice right through a small tree like you showed, oftem with a single swing, and leave a cut so smooth you'd swear it had been polished (Skrama especially).
it's a destructive entry tool. there's a video out there where they give it to a swat team and they use it to cut/pry a car apart. i think they eventually broke the end off but the rest of it still worked to take the rest of the car apart.
Yes so everyone thinks Kabar is just plain ol 1095 carbon steel but they couldn't be anymore wrong!!! I was born and raised right here in Olean NY yes it is where Kabar is from and the original steel they used was called 50100B from Sharon Steel which unfortunately has been discontinued so then Kabar had the exact same steel replicated and they called it the 1095 crovan for the added chromium and vanadium but it also has many other benefits over traditional 1095 there really is no comparison between the two!
Have a vintage pre KABAR Becker Knife & Tool tac tool BK3. Seems to perform like the KABAR in this video. My guess is the role stamping on the blade is the only difference. Crowbar with a knife edge is perfect description 👍
G'day M&M, well same steel and I assume same HT as the rest of the Becker line up. As I do with the BK-9, pair it with a smaller belt knife = all basses covered. Cheers Duke.

You can spot a true bush crafter/outdoorsman when ..... They get excited about coming across fat wood and talk about it in a way that makes you blush.

not to mention he walks out to it barefoot
Would you guys explain how to find it, and what exactly is fatwood?

Best line: “This knife is so versatile that I would use it as a car.”
couldnt imagine anything worse to ride
You really have to appreciate how cinematic their videos are
Pizza
Yeah their new cam gear is insanely nice
That massive mallet always makes me laugh. It's like something Obelix would use. 😊🤣🥳
Thanks for the post, have had one for years now and it's a beast IMO and definitely one to have in your collection~ PS...the butt knob can be used for sparking a fire!
The entire BK-# series is great.
oh thats great to know thanks!
@@DutchBushcraftKnives there are guys on Amazon selling fire-starter bow drill things!
You guys gotta get one and review it!!!!
Gotta love a butt knob 🙄

Looks like they've perfected the heat treat on 1095... The tops storm vector had this performance.
The storm vector was NUTS.
This is the Becker BK2 taken one step further, maybe even one step beyond.

@@diogenes42069
The steel is not basic 1095, it is 1095 Cro Van. A steel that is just that bit better.
@@RiderOftheNorth1968 is that similar to how they strengthen 420 steel with titanium bonding for larger knives to make them more durable?

Taking knives that need improvement and modifying them is a cool video idea. yeah? yeah?😉
@@1diggers1 yes! Go make it :) I’ll watch !
I’m blown away with what y’all put this knife through and the way it just took it on the chin. Great video as always, guys!

The praise and all glory go to dbk . May dbk be with you,,, and also with you. But seriously, you got the best knife show on all of UA-cam
haha thank you so much!

I have plenty of knives already, but I love just watching you two joke around and have fun. Good to see some humor and laughs in days like these.
I'm amazed by this tool. I'm probably going to end up with one sooner or later.
I thoughtbabout getting one to keep in my pickup for camping. Possibly prying a car door open or popping out a window if needed. Very informative video. Great steel test.
Every mechanic has a tool they made in their garage that's this durable i love it
Kabar Beckers are just awesome tools. This was an entertaining video that proves the BK-3 is a beast of a tool.
The long awaited return of Muscled Hammer Guy!!!!

+20 years ago i purchased the ontario SP8 , its still going strong . Same basic design without the gut hook weak spot.
You guys are hilarious. I'm not a knife expert but I think if I keep watching you I'll be on my way.
I have a BK9 and love it!! I stripped the coating off of it, replaced the handle scales with black walnut and made a leather sheath for it.
Crazy thing. More like a tool than a knife. Really like it
You guys convinced me to buy it. Thanks for hard review. It was also a pleasant watch.
one of the best youtube channels youtube EVER saw ! Love and respect from germany...♥
Becker Bk7, literally that same knife but Sabre ground and a clip point. Great survival knife
ive owned one of those knives for years now saved my life at least once...
I'm torn apart by the Becker knives. They're so ugly and yet so god damn powerful.
The bk7 is pretty attractive though, at least in my eyes.
BK7
Bk5 🤷♂️
@@guardsmenedwin6213 Sorry.. Don't agree. Still think that the handle looks rushed and cheap.
I just recently returned 2 of BK7 due to quality control issues. If you are gonna buy check carefully
Just got mine today. It is a BEAST in hand
When I heard indestructible I knew it was ka bar bk 3 I have this knife and its a beast! My dad was just like damn son thats a nice knife
