It’s not an exclusive Mexican tradition, a Quinceañera is celebrated in many different countries in Latin America. You can absolutely celebrate your Quinces if you are Puerto Rican. Thank you for watching! 🤩
@@palomajacoboI am white and I was adopted by my parents who are both mexican and they said that I should have a quinceañera but I'm not sure if people would support that. Do you think it's okay if i were to have one?
Yes of course!!!! You have Mexican parents and I am guessing they have raised you surrounded by our traditions and culture, a Quinceañera is one of them so you should totally have one, if you want one. Honestly people invited to your Quinces will be family and friends, people who love you and care about you who should not judge or have anything to say about your loving parents throwing a 15th birthday party for you including the traditions that you live surrounded by. So if you want one go for it!!! Hope this helps and like Chavela Vargas said: "Los Mexicanos nacemos done nos da la gana" 🇲🇽🥰🇲🇽
Yes! I actually attended all girls schools growing up so I faced this issue too. I have male cousins who are my age so they were my Chambelanes. For Damas I have seen quinceaneras who decide o have their female cousins be their Damas. Also, you don't need a big court, it could be a 2 or 3 Damas or Chambelanes. Finally you also have the option to hire professional Chambelanes, they are usually super good dancers so you don't have to worry about them not learning the Vals or surprise dance. Thank you for watching and let me know what you decide to do for your Quince court ☺️
I have a question… can you have a quinceañera if you’re not Mexican? I’m Puerto Rican and people have been telling me it’s only for mexicans

Am I allowed to have a quince even if I’m not really religious??
If you want your quince you have to do your first communion but it’s not an obligation. I think you can still do it. 😊
Absolutely, I have photographed quinceaneras without any kind of religious celebration so you could skip that part.
